I looked for any source of information I could find when I became aware of the unrest in Ukraine during the winter of 2013 and continued observing into the Spring of 2014 and beyond for three and a half years thereafter.
I wanted to understand what the underlying reasons were for what was going on.
I have described elsewhere all I was able to glean from various sources concerning the violent upheaval witnessed in Kiev in another commentary.
Here I would like to focus on what subsequently took place in eastern Ukraine and place it in the context of the West’s other wars.
After the president fell in Kiev, along with the government and the USA’s chosen representatives took power (as known from the leaked telephone discussion between the Assistant Secretary of State, Victoria Nuland and then U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt) I turned my attention to eastern Ukraine.
The reaction there of their chosen president and government (legally elected) being overthrown caused a shockwave through the pro-Russian majority there. They knew well what was coming. Hadn’t they seen the coded signs of favorable views concerning Hitler and the Nazis? They knew well that they were seen as evil Russians by many in the West, called ‘Moskals’, a dirty word for those in the west of the country denoting those who inclined toward their neighbors, not toward the EU and the western world. They had seen the torch lit processions in Lviv and Kiev. They had heard the chants of fascistic mobs marching there shouting “Russians on knives!!” They knew well what was in store for them, for their language and for all the cultural associations with Russia that they held deep in their hearts.
And those who hated them had begun to arrive in their towns and cities, bused in from western Ukraine. Street battles had begun to destroy their peaceful streets and the harmony that had previously existed between those with pro-Russian feelings and those from other regions of Ukraine who had settled there who had not. It was clear that those who wished to preserve their way of life and all it meant to them could not simply await their fate. They began to take control of their own destiny and the administrative offices of their own cities.
It was during this time that you might have heard the voices of such people. Then and only then. For their voices would never be heard again right up to the present day.
I was lucky to find two micro-documentary films the BBC had made through sending separate teams to eastern Ukraine just before the violence began there. In those two short films the people of the region, in one the miners and in the other a shopkeeper and ordinary street folk were heard. I would ask you to spare just a few moments to listen to them. In doing so you will recognize that you have been lied to when told that what happened in eastern Ukraine was about “Russian aggression”. The people will tell you what the reality is if you let them. A story they have been silenced from telling ever since.
The first video is two minutes long and features the miners of eastern Ukraine.
This video was published by the BBC on the 10th of April 2014.
Ukraine Crisis: Coal miners' thoughts on future.
The second video is six minutes twenty four seconds long and features a shop on the border with Russia and the views of townsfolk within the small town of Milove in which it is located.
This video was published by the BBC on the 14th of March 2014.
The shop on the Ukraine-Russia border.
These would be the last time the BBC would allow the voices of those in eastern Ukraine who had pro-Russian or anti-EU, anti-West sentiments to express.
I observed events in eastern Ukraine intently for a further four years and no such videos were ever seen again. More than that, horrendous atrocities perpetrated by the Ukrainian army and their associated fascistic militias would be totally ignored and would never be referred to on western mainstream media or by any western politician.
The West had created another killing field within another of its vacuum flask wars where those framed as its enemies died in silence.
We have seen this time and time again in our lifetimes. In particular we saw it in Syria where the West fought a proxy war using terrorists and terrorist-supporting activists such as the White Helmets in its war to topple the president and government there. Once again the chosen enemies of the West were to die in an enforced silence, demonized and consistently slandered without any recourse to a reply, framed as evil sub-humans incapable of even the tiniest degree of human decency... set up as modern day Hitlers and Nazis so they could be destroyed without a second thought.
Look back at all the wars of the West in recent years. Whether that is Syria or Libya or anywhere else where western elites control the narrative in order to wage war. Even when those narratives are later found to be composed of half-truths and downright lies the same silencing policy against critics, criticisms and counter narratives to their continues unabated.
It is sadistic in the extreme and loathsomely hypocritical when you consider that even the most unapologetic and obvious criminal in the West is given a trial and an opportunity to speak if he or she decides to do so. The West’s targets get afforded no such authority, indeed every possible means is used to silence them and those who feel that fairness demands they speak for them. To add insult to injury (to put it mildly) western mainstream media news, the one entity supposedly devoted to providing all sides of any issue maintains the same killing field silence engaged in by their state elites.
This is where the ugliness, the sheer callous inhumanity of the West reaches a peak of sadistic intent that ought to be abhorrent to every decent human being on the planet.
A complete vacuum of information is created on one side while the West with all its powers to communicate and annihilate gags and murders those it designates, frames and demonizes as suitable cases for extermination.
Yes. You have it. You have now made the connection. You have come across the very policy once before. I need hardly point it out, need I?
Genocide.
This is our western world though... with elites we are told wish to spread freedom, democracy and liberal western values worldwide.
Demonizing, gagging its victims and engaging in mass murder.
CREATING THE SILENCE OF KILLING FIELDS IN THE WEST’S VACUUM FLASK WARS
