GAZA: EXPOSING THE LIE OF WESTERN MORAL SUPERIORITY
The lie of moral superiority being behind western foreign policy has been exposed once and for all by the genocide in Gaza, a genocide 100% supported by the entire political establishment of the West.
It could not be more obvious. All the talk we have heard for so many decades now about the moral superiority of western leadership, of how it upholds international law and human rights, protects the weak and attacks oppression everywhere... a cover story, all lies.
It has been a very effective cover story. Tens of millions across the western world have believed it, and likely hundreds of millions worldwide. It has been an extremely useful cover story. Despite having been seen to mount overt and covert campaigns around the world since the end of WWII to interfere in and destabilize nations around the world, at times instigating coups resulting in death, destruction and the undermining of entire economies, and in recent years instigating multiple regime change wars of choice, the cover story of western moral superiority has remained largely in place.
Western mass media has, in general supported the concept of western moral superiority in its subtle inferences across the entirety of its output. It is not even questioned. Those few media outlets who used to take a different stance such as The Guardian of the UK have now fallen in line. This occurred after 9/11 which made criticism of U.S. foreign policy and therefore that of its western allies, unthinkable. This situation where western mass media provides complicit support for almost anything its state politicians say on matters of “national interest” remains to this day. The enemies of western states became the enemies of its media. This incestuous relationship destroyed impartial reporting on geopolitical matters. Apart from one or two reporters, including most notable among them John Pilger, now sadly deceased, the media establishment in the West no longer tolerated impartiality in reporting in the field of geopolitics. The West, in lockstep on its “interests” was henceforth to be supported unequivocally and unquestioningly by both its state and media representatives.
Any war the West waged since 9/11 has been overwhelmingly been treated sympathetically by western mass media. Every narrative about whatever “enemy” western politicians have indicated as next in line for regime change has been immediately picked up by western mass media for demonization. The required headlines to stir public feeling into raging support on the basis of “something must be done” were dutifully supplied. All in the name of crusader states coming to the rescue of others or duty bound by God above to smite some evil doers. Time after time we saw the same stenographic response of western media to the political requirements of its politicians. Occasions when other views were heard were so extremely rare as to be virtually non-existent. Impartiality in western media in the geopolitical field was clearly dead and it has remained so to this day.
The war in Ukraine is the most active example of the combined force of western government and media complicity in this field. The Russians, provoked endlessly in the years prior to 2022 and demonized consistently since the West-supported coup in Ukraine in 2014 have been demonized endlessly, particularly in terms of its president. Just as all other leaders the western political leadership wished to see overthrown western media did everything it could to assist in the process. The result was not true reporting nor true journalism, it was merely state-supporting propaganda. One-sided, biased, partial, in lock-step with the agendas and narratives supporting the geopolitical aims of the western political establishment. The power of western media was once again successful in turning its hate machine on Putin as it had done against many other leaders the western establishment wished to see gone. The technique had worked many times in the past and it worked again to a significant degree against Putin. Though arguably a great many have seen through this technique at last and have bypassed the hate-mongers of their media outlets to look deeper.
Then came Gaza. The genocidal policies of the regime in Israel against the Palestinians and the fulsome support of this by all western state officials and their media friends has opened completely the eyes and minds of many who previously bought the idea of western moral superiority. The killing of at least ten thousand children by the Israeli IDF forces has broken through all the last seventy-five or so years of the carefully constructed cover story of western moral rectitude, probity, decency and general goodness. The contention that “We are the good guys” and that the ones who were “bad guys” were whoever we said they were, can no longer be supported. This notion has now been totally blown apart. The West is seen clearly to hold no high ground on matters of law and morality at all, in fact it is now seen to support acts of mass murder. It is seen to attack those who protect this mass murder. It is seen to wish to silence those who protest genocide. Action in recent times against Venezuela and currently against Iran further emphasis this point.
The western political establishment is seen to be corrupt and indeed criminal. The awful truth is that since WWII it has displayed its corruption and criminality many, many times but that the cover story prevailed. Now that western mass media, in televisual and print form is more and more seen as a source of state-complicit propaganda rather than news western politicians are increasingly exposed as being wholly untrustworthy. A reputation for deception now exposes them as liars in terms of geopolitical matters, always to dupe western populations into supporting their wars of choice. Gaza has shown this with complete clarity. When it suits these so-called moralists with their supposed superior ethical character they choose to support mass murder. Their cover-story has now collapsed. They are exposed as liars, as frauds, criminals posing as saints and always and ever “the good guys”. They can never hoodwink their people again. It’s over. And sooner or later, the people of the West will turn the wrath they feel at being deceived by their lies against them.
