Commerce & national interest determine western mainstream news

When you have a corporate paymaster you learn to self-censor fast. You know the deal. You know the score.

You can have all the views you want. But you can only express those that fit.

The views that fit the corporate and state narrative that 999 times out of 1000 make a match.

Views that mitigate against the accumulation of ever-more profits are unacceptable, you know that.

Wars are good for business and the elites of the USA portray themselves as noble men and women motivated only by an honest desire to bring freedom and democracy to everyone. This is the bullshit that sells well. It sells weapons well for the military industrial complex of which they are an integral part.

They are willing to lie, cheat, steal and murder to win power and wealth but such views must never be expressed, not even alluded to, not in the slightest. No nuance that incorporates these realities can be allowed to exist. This is because the continuing, self-awarded ability of U.S. elites to be judge, jury and executioner and to lie, cheat, rob and murder, depends upon everyone treating such individuals like virtual saints with no self-interest whatsoever. They are to be regarded as noble and virtuous, as selfless warriors for freedom, truth and democracy. No one must EVER suggest otherwise within corporate news. No such views can be tolerated, no matter how many lies are exposed that directly led to massive loss of life. The subject is taboo in the mainstream.

This self-censorship exists across ALL western mass media. From the BBC to MSNBC, from ITV to CNN... all the way across from one end of it to the other. Western elites and their motivations are held within a perpetual bubble of eternal sanctity given special dispensation to do whatever they like, to whoever they like whenever they like with complete impunity because they are as pure as driven snow and woe betide anyone who questions it. End of story.

This is why the USA and to a lesser degree the UK and rest of Europe are the most pervasively and continually propagandized nations on earth. The populations across the western world are subjected to propaganda in depth, not the same as that by other regimes of the past. It is much more subtle and pervasive. The underlying assumptions about the elites of the West and their innate goodness, respectability, honesty and benevolent intent is an unquestioned given across every news broadcast of a geopolitical nature.

Thus the fracturing, demolishing and rending apart of the Middle East with hundreds of thousands dead based on suppositions, conjectures, assertions, opinions and bare-faced lies is a matter hardly mentioned. A few inquiries took place and those who perpetrated these iniquities heard one or two mild criticisms and that was that. Move on. Nothing to see here.

Yet Russia and others are pointed at continually as the bad guys. The Russia that advised strongly against the attack upon and invasion of Iraq along with China. Putin, who warned of the consequences of these acts of illegality, of the breaking of international law, has been portrayed as public enemy number one. The peacemaker has been targeted by western mass media, not the lords of war.

None of this can be said or even alluded to by western mass media. The underlying memes which are promulgated through every respectful interview of western elites within the warmongering nations, every report regarding what they say about Russia, or China, or Venezuela, or any other regime change target, whatever false narrative which suits western states is required... all are dutifully delivered to largely accepting ears across the totally propagandized nations of the West.

This is the supposed “Free World” where free speech is universal. This is the world of democracy where corporations not only control western states but also, through self-censorship, the required lies that keep their populations ignorant, docile and providing consent.

This is the world where broader realities and nuance are written out of history by men and women paid to remain silent.

The world where you hear only the news and views that fit.
