“Ukraine. What is the truth...?
Why won’t western media tell both sides…?”
VIRTUALLY UNREPORTED ATROCITY IN LUGANSK, 2nd JUNE 2014
A lot has been said about atrocities in the western media claimed to have been perpetrated by the Russians, for example at Bucha and Mariupol among others. These assertions are conveyed on the say so of the Ukrainian authorities. How willing though are western news broadcasters to convey atrocities attributed to the Ukrainians? The following will I think provide the answer.
If anyone wonders if they are receiving accurate coverage of the conflict in Ukraine I would suggest watching the video below of an event which occurred on the 2nd of June 2014 and ask themselves if they recall hearing about it on any mainstream media news channel at the time.
The video is harrowing to watch. The bodies (five women and three men) are real. Yet across western media there was only one single news report that occurred a day later. This was from CNN and occurred only because a CNN team happened to be nearby at the time of the atrocity and so the network could hardly ignore it as all others so obviously did.
The video below shows the unvarnished truth that was not considered newsworthy in western mainstream news.
THE SINGLE WESTERN MSM REPORT ON THE LUGANSK ATROCITY, 3rd JUNE 2014
The video at the CNN link below is the crime scene sanitised by CNN, though played straight with honest reporting on the scene not playing things to Kiev’s tune.
(There was a time early in the war in the Donbass when CNN were not afraid to contradict the Ukrainian regime in Kiev.) Watch, because it's the first and last time you will see this.

No ‘unfriendly nations’ for Russia, only ‘unfriendly elites’ – Putin
Unlike the West, Moscow will never “cancel” any foreign culture.
Russia has no intention of cancelling any country’s culture, President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday during a working trip to Tver Region. Moscow understands the difference between the people and the elites and respects every nation’s culture, and also considers its own to be part of the world’s heritage, he added.
The president was talking to regional artists when the issue of attempts to “cancel” Russian culture by some Western nations was raised. According to Putin, Moscow has no plans to respond in kind.
“We do not have any unfriendly nations, we have unfriendly elites in those nations,” the president said, adding that the Russian government “has never tried to cancel” any foreign artists or cultural performances. “On the contrary, we believe the Russian culture to be a part of the global one and we take pride [in this fact].”
The Russian authorities seek to take the global cultural context into account and “exclude nothing,” he continued. Those seeking to abolish the culture of a nation inhabited by some 190 million people are “not wise,” the president said, referring to the Western actions during the Ukraine conflict.
Western nations have repeatedly sought to ban performances by Russian artists and musicians, as well as those deemed supportive of Moscow. Most recently, renowned Italian singer Enzo Ghinazzi, best known as Pupo, had an upcoming performance in Lithuania cancelled over a concert he gave at the Kremlin in March.
Pupo arrived in Russia to “convey the message that peace will return to the world,” he told TASS at the time. He also argued against an “embargo of any people’s culture,” calling such a stance “wrong.” The Lithuanian venue set to host his performance subsequently announced that it was being cancelled, calling it “good news” for those opposed to Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine.
Earlier the same month, South Korea canceled a series of performances by Svetlana Zakharova, a renowned ballerina from Russia’s Bolshoi Theatre, after Ukraine expressed anger over the planned events.
Many Western cultural institutions have sought to completely remove Russia-linked works from their galleries and theaters ever since the conflict between Russia and Ukraine broke out in February 2022.
The Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra in Wales dropped the music of composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky from a concert, Britain’s Royal Opera House canceled a tour by the Bolshoi Ballet, and New York’s Carnegie Hall and Metropolitan Opera have stopped allowing most Russian musicians and organizations to perform.
The campaign has reached such a fever pitch that it has drawn criticism from some Western leaders. In April 2023, Italian President Sergio Mattarella branded it a “mistaken gesture.” In August of the same year, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz argued against such moves by calling Russian culture a part of “our common European history.”

US didn’t share full intelligence on Moscow terror attack – NYT
Washington’s “adversarial relationship” with Russia prevented full disclosure of what it knew, sources told the newspaper.
The lack of trust between the US and Russia prevented Washington from sharing all the intelligence it possessed about a looming terrorist attack in Moscow, the New York Times has claimed.
Four gunmen staged one of the bloodiest massacres in Russian history last Friday, when they went on a gun rampage at a large concert venue just outside of the capital before setting the building on fire. Over 140 people were killed in the attack.
Earlier in March, the US embassy in Moscow issued a warning to American citizens of a possible attack. Separately, a non-public message was sent to Russian security officials. Aleksandr Bortnikov, the head of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), described it as “general in nature,” when he updated the public on the investigation on Tuesday.
“The adversarial relationship between Washington and Moscow prevented US officials from sharing any information about the plot beyond what was necessary,” the Times said. The Americans purportedly held back information “out of fear Russian authorities might learn their intelligence sources or methods,” it said.
In the public warning on March 7, the embassy said the threat was acute for the next 48 hours. The newspaper said it was “unclear whether US intelligence mistook the timing of the attack or the extremists delayed their plan upon seeing heightened security.”
President Vladimir Putin described the perpetrators as radical Islamists, after they were apprehended in a Russian region bordering Ukraine. They had allegedly been recruited through an online chat operated on behalf of ISIS-K, an Afghanistan-based offshoot of the once-powerful terrorist organization Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS).
Washington has pinned the mass murder on ISIS-K, which has claimed credit for it. However, Russian officials have argued that some other party, such as Ukrainian intelligence services, may have masterminded the plot.
Some Russian news outlets have suggested that the terrorists had initially planned an earlier assault at Crocus City Hall. On March 10, the venue hosted a concert by performer Shaman, who is labeled “pro-Putin” by critics of the Russian leader due to the nationalist lyrics in some of his songs.
One of the perpetrators was apparently photographed at the premises on March 7, according to an image published in the Russian media. Security was reportedly heightened at the concert hall in the days following the American warning.

Trust in government declines in NATO member state – poll
The level of public confidence in Estonia’s leadership has fallen by 4% this month, a new study has revealed.
The level of public confidence in Estonia’s leadership has fallen by 4% this month, a new study has revealed.
The level of public trust in Estonia’s government is on the decline, as just 17% of the people approve of Prime Minister Kaja Kallas’ cabinet, a new poll shows.
Overall confidence in the government has fallen by 4% since February, when it stood at 21%, according to a study published by Kantar Emor on Wednesday.
Kallas was third on the list of the most trusted members of government in March, with support of 21%. She was passed by Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur and Education Minister Kristina Kallas, who received 30% and 26%, respectively.
Pevkur “remains the most reliable, and his performance and pronouncements are generally characterized by poise and calmness. He also has no direct conflicts with other politicians and the media,” Aivar Voog, the head of research at Kantar Emor, explained.
Economic Minister Tiit Riisalo and Finance Minister Mart Vorklaev remained at the bottom of the list, with 8% and 7%, respectively, according to the poll.
GDP decreased by 3% and amounted to €37.7 billion ($40.8 billion) in 2023, data released by Statistics Estonia earlier this month shows. The agency linked the “broad-based recession” in the Baltic nation of around 1.4 million to “the rapid increase in prices, which has affected all economic activities.”
Inflation in the EU has been on the rise since the outbreak of the Ukraine conflict in February 2022, which led to a sanctions standoff between Moscow and the West, and a drastic reduction of Russian energy supplies to Europe.
Tallinn has fully backed Kiev, providing it with over $500,000 in military aid and calling for increasingly tough measures against Moscow. Earlier this month, Kallas said she could not rule out the possibility of sending Estonian troops to assist Ukraine.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has claimed that all the talk by some NATO member states about sending troops to Ukraine only serves to mask their real agenda – to “partition what they see as the remnants of Ukraine.”

Russia and Africa boost nuclear cooperation
African countries see Moscow as a “reliable partner” in the atomic energy sector, according to Rosatom.
Russian energy giant Rosatom has signed several agreements for developing cooperation in nuclear energy with Mali, Burkina Faso, and Algeria on the sidelines of the 13th international ATOMEXPO exhibition and forum in Sochi this week.
The roadmaps outline steps each country will take to establish a working proficiency in civilian nuclear technologies, enhance nuclear infrastructure, and cultivate a favorable public perception of nuclear power in Africa, Rosatom’s press service reported on Tuesday.
According to Ryan Collier, acting CEO of Rosatom Central and South Africa, African nations have shown a keen interest in nuclear energy from Rosatom, recognizing it as a dependable global supplier and “a reliable partner.”
“Russia is very well known in terms of nuclear technology. Rosatom has been around for 65 years,” Collier said.
He also stated that South Africa is collaborating with Rosatom on a floating nuclear power plant initiative to mitigate the nation’s protracted electricity crisis. Under this arrangement, South Africa will pay only for the electricity it uses, while Rosatom, the owner of the fleet, will fully fund the construction costs.

VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
And now, all this being said, we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the bestial elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to their number there at the gates of Hell and their doom. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In Donbass and beyond and in due course across the world.
Victory belongs to Russia: It is now only a matter of time.

WHY WOULD RUSSIA RELENT & ABANDON ITS NATIONAL SECURITY?
Can you think of a single good reason why a nation should countenance an aggressive, heavily-armed organisation, with a known track record of doing massive destructive damage, squatting on its doorstep?
The answer to the question above is of course that Russia would never do this. Ask yourself, would any nation with sufficient ability to resist do so? The national security of a country is quite clearly the first duty of any government. Protecting your population from danger is the number one responsibility of those charged with governing. When danger approaches your border it is the solemn responsibility of those in charge of any nation to drive that danger back and assert the strongest possible defence against any potential future threats. Russia has been doing exactly this in recent years.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation was left without an enemy to justify its existence with the collapse of the Soviet Union. Instead of being gradually disbanded and/or merged with the regular armies of its member states it remained intact. Since the fall of the Soviet Union it has been an active belligerent against both Serbia and Libya. Though NATO’s use as a potent weapon against these nations many western politicians claim that Russia has no need to fear NATO’s encroachment to its borders. The assertion is constantly made that NATO is merely a defensive rather than an offensive organisation. You may ask whether the people of Serbia (still protesting this week 25 years after the NATO attacks) and those of Libya are likely to agree.
Gorbachev was certainly assured that NATO would not move an inch toward the then Soviet Union upon his agreement that there would be no barriers placed upon the reunification of Germany. He was in fact assured by almost a dozen high officials from western nations at the time. However, tranche after tranche of ex-Warsaw Pact nations joined NATO in the years thereafter.
Newly Declassified Documents: Gorbachev Told NATO Wouldn't Move Past East German Border
Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev was given a host of assurances that the NATO alliance would not expand past what was then the East German border in 1990 according to new declassified documents.
Gorbachev only accepted German reunification—over which the Soviet Union had a legal right to veto under treaty—because he received assurances that NATO would not expand after he withdrew his forces from Eastern Europe from James Baker, President George H.W. Bush, West German foreign minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher, West German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, the CIA Director Robert Gates, French President Francois Mitterrand, British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, British foreign minister Douglas Hurd, British Prime Minister John Major, and NATO secretary-general Manfred Woerner.
The fact of NATO encroachment toward the Russian border was bemoaned in a phone call in 1998 to the man recognised as the primary architect of the West’s containment policy regarding the Soviet Union, George Kennan:
Foreign Affairs; Now a Word From X
''I think it is the beginning of a new cold war,'' said Mr. Kennan from his Princeton home. ''I think the Russians will gradually react quite adversely and it will affect their policies. I think it is a tragic mistake. There was no reason for this whatsoever. No one was threatening anybody else. This expansion would make the Founding Fathers of this country turn over in their graves. We have signed up to protect a whole series of countries, even though we have neither the resources nor the intention to do so in any serious way. [NATO expansion] was simply a light-hearted action by a Senate that has no real interest in foreign affairs.''
''What bothers me is how superficial and ill informed the whole Senate debate was,'' added Mr. Kennan.
''I was particularly bothered by the references to Russia as a country dying to attack Western Europe. Don't people understand? Our differences in the cold war were with the Soviet Communist regime. And now we are turning our backs on the very people who mounted the greatest bloodless revolution in history to remove that Soviet regime.”
''And Russia's democracy is as far advanced, if not farther, as any of these countries we've just signed up to defend from Russia,'' said Mr. Kennan. ''It shows so little understanding of Russian history and Soviet history. Of course there is going to be a bad reaction from Russia, and then [the NATO expanders] will say that we always told you that is how the Russians are -- but this is just wrong.''
''This has been my life, and it pains me to see it so screwed up in the end.''
https://www.nytimes.com/1998/05/02/opinion/foreign-affairs-now-a-word-from-x.html
In the light of NATO’s attacks on both Serbia and Libya, Mr Kennan’s comments above and the release of previously classified documents confirming the pledges to Gorbachev it is clear that Russia had many reasons to be concerned regarding NATO’s potentially highly destabilising effect upon its security. A primary concern was the strong likelihood that nuclear weapons would eventually be stationed within the nations on Russia’s doorstep. This eventuality would leave almost no time at all to initiate the vital checks concerning whether in fact some mistake had been made thus averting a full scale nuclear war. The close proximity of such nuclear weapons to Russian cities such as Moscow would present an enormous and unconscionable threat to Russian security. This simply COULD NOT be allowed to come to pass.
So it was in 2008 at the Bucharest NATO summit that George Bush Jnr pushed through the statement that both Georgia and Ukraine would be invited to join NATO at some future point in time. William Burns, now director of the CIA said at the time in a famous memo that Ukraine joining NATO was “The reddest of red lines for the Russians”. This decision by Bush and his people was pushed through and agreed upon despite opposition by several national leaders including Angela Merkel.
We are now seeing the utter folly of this decision and subsequent regular statements by successive heads of NATO reiterating this decision apparently quite oblivious of the certain consequences. Naturally it was in NATO’s continued existence to make as big an enemy of Russia as possible. This despite the fact that Putin had broached the idea of Russia joining NATO in conversations with then president Bill Clinton. Conversations that led nowhere as the western powers apparently saw Russia as weak and an opportunity existed to exploit her for their purposes, one of which was clearly to maintain and grow NATO.
All of the above should serve to show clearly why Vladimir Putin and the Russian government have extremely valid concerns regarding NATO and its arriving directly on its border, potentially with nuclear weapons within Georgia and Ukraine, as successive western leaders have desired. These many reasons all show why Russia will not and absolutely cannot relent in its special military operation in Ukraine. To do so would be to totally abandon concern for its national security and that of its entire population.
