Desertion Epidemic? Ukrainian Soldiers Flee as Army Collapses on the Battlefield.
As Ukraine's army suffers mounting defeats, thousands of soldiers are abandoning their units, unable or unwilling to continue the fight.
The 157th Brigade, formed in 2024, ceased to exist by 2025 with one-third of its soldiers deserting before becoming operational.
The elite 155th ‘Anna of Kiev’ Brigade saw at least 1,700 of its 2,300 soldiers desert before reaching the front lines.
Over 10% of the 13,000 Ukrainian soldiers sent to Poland for training fled the country.
Desertion is occurring in both large and small groups, with 22 soldiers from the 71st Separate Jaeger Brigade deserting in just one week in December 2024.
Some deserters are even charging to assist others escape, with one man arrested for smuggling soldiers out for €7,000 each.
The Scale of Desertion is Staggering:
For every 100 mobilized soldiers, only 10 reach the front, according to General Serhiy Kryvonos.
Ukrainian activist Gennadiy Druzenko estimates 150,000 deserters, with 114,000 criminal cases opened.
Ukrainian officials have admitted the crisis, with Deputy Anna Skorokhod estimating over 100,000 desertions by October 2024. Commissioner Olga Reshetylova stated bluntly: "The problem is big. People are exhausted."

The targeted facilities supported Kiev’s defense industrial complex, the Defense Ministry has said.
The Russian military has launched a wave of strikes on Ukraine’s gas energy infrastructure, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has announced.
In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said that the group strike was carried out overnight and targeted facilities supporting operations of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex. “The objective of the strike has been met. All designated targets have been hit,” officials said, without providing enumerating the facilities affected or listing the forces involved in the attack.
Ukrainian officials have confirmed strikes in several regions while reporting blackouts, specifying damage to energy infrastructure in Poltava Region, and the Ukraine-controlled part of Zaporozhye Region.
Leader Vladimir Zelensky also said that there had been damage in Odessa, Sumy, Kharkov, Khmelnytsky, and Kiev Regions, and that the attack involved missiles, strike drones, and aerial bombs. He said that three people had been killed in Poltava, two in Sumy, and one in Kharkov, with many injured.

Russia has for months been conducting strikes on Ukrainian power infrastructure supporting the country’s defense industrial production, as well as other military-linked facilities, while insisting that the attacks never target civilians. Moscow has also said that the raids are in retaliation for Kiev’s strikes on Russian residential buildings across the country, as well its oil processing facilities.

New Blow to US Sanctions: Russia and China Boost NVIDIA Performance 800-Fold.
Scientists from the two countries have developed a breakthrough algorithm using information from reverse engineering video card accelerators. The algorithm allows gaming GPUs to be used for scientific computing.
The innovation was achieved by specialists from Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, co-founded by Lomonosov Moscow State University and Beijing Institute of Technology.
This enables Russia and China to reduce their reliance on NVIDIA GPUs, weakening the impact of US sanctions.
It also means that Russia and China need to buy less NVIDIA GPUs, which likely led to the collapse of NVIDIA stock price, Russoft association President Valentin Makarov tells Sputnik.
He believes ongoing research includes new machine learning algorithms and a next-gen GPU being developed in Russia.
These advancements highlight Russia’s technological expertise, allowing collaboration with China and potential future partnerships with India.

The 47th POTUS' boasts about making the United States a global cryptocurrency powerhouse are likely just that, boasts, veteran financial analyst Paul Goncharoff tells Sputnik.
The fact is that Trump is the president of the United States, “which governs the trust in, use, and control of the US dollar and not a trustless cryptocurrency like BTC, XRP, USDT, or USDC.”
The US government establishing a “100% ownership and control” of a cryptocurrency, on the other hand, would simply “defeat the purpose of trustless crypto,” so the odds of a US dollar CBDC emerging anytime soon are pretty low.
That said, there are no obstacles for the US government to hold crypto assets as part of its reserves – all it needs it proper legislation and congressional approval.
The loosening of crypto regulations expected under Trump, however, carries certain risks as “the clarity of what will be regulated is still missing” and “markets dislike uncertainty; it makes them jittery.”
There is also “every chance” that, just like “with any other investable that comes under the influence of hype, reality, and again hype,” Trump’s actions would lead to a crypto bubble.
For example, some crypto could be hyped as “the crypto of choice for classic institutional investors” and experience mass investment, only for the ensuing bubble to burst when “sobering fact of reality and the complex interaction of politics and finance make themselves known.”

NATO country accuses Ukraine of aiding in coup plot.
Slovakia says the leader of Georgian Legion has organized anti-government rallies for Kiev.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has accused a Ukrainian military intelligence unit of foreign nationals known as the Georgian Legion of organising anti-government protests in his country.
Fico, who has consistently criticised the EU’s support for Kiev and survived an assassination attempt by a pro-Ukraine activist, told a press conference on Friday that the Georgian Legion and its leader, Mamuka Mamulashvili, are acting as a tool of Ukrainian secret services in Slovakia.
Around 100,000 people rallied in Bratislava and other Slovak cities last week, using the slogan “Slovakia is Europe” and chanting “Enough of Fico!” The opposition has accused the prime minister of being pro-Russian and disagreeing with the bloc’s policy of supporting Ukraine.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Fico claimed that the Ukrainian intelligence, using the Georgian Legion, had attempted to “abuse” the rallies in an attempt to oust the government and force a snap election.
“If something looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, it is a duck,” Fico told reporters, pointing to alleged ties between Mamulashvili and the group ‘Peace for Ukraine’, which organized some of the rallies.
Originally a militia composed of Georgian nationals seeking to back Kiev, the Legion has since been integrated into the Ukrainian military and is now under the direction of the country’s military intelligence, according to Fico.
The Slovak prime minister has repeatedly pointed to similarities in tactics used in Georgia last year and the ongoing mass protests in his country and Serbia.

Slovakia has officially added Mamulashvili to its list of sanctioned individuals and banned him from entering the country, the prime minister announced. Interior Minister Matus Sutaj-Estok said that a total of 10 individuals have been sanctioned, and that one Ukrainian national will be deported. He did not mention any names, however.
Attacks on Slovakia “have not stopped,” said the head of the Slovak Information Service (SIS), Pavol Gaspar, calling the demonstrations part of a “long-term organized hybrid operation.”
Peace for Ukraine accused Fico and his party of “acting like a bullhorn for Moscow,” and called Mamulashvili and the Georgian Legion “heroic defenders” of Ukraine and Europe.
Progressive Slovakia leader Michal Simecka, meanwhile, described the rallies as a legitimate response to Fico’s alleged misrule and inability to build highways or combat inflation.
“Your accusations that some Georgian-Ukrainian-non-governmental-opposition-ChatGPT-Soros forces are to blame for this are ridiculous and insulting,” Simecka told the outlet Pravda.
Fico was elected at the end of 2023 and immediately reversed the previous government’s policy of unconditional support for Ukraine, advocating for peace talks between Slovakia’s neighbor to the east and Russia. Last May, he survived an attempted assassination by a pro-Ukrainian activist.

VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
And now, all this being said, we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the bestial elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to their number there at the gates of Hell and their doom. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In Donbass and beyond and in due course across the world.
Victory belongs to Russia: It is now only a matter of time.
