A lot has been said about atrocities in the western media claimed to have been perpetrated by the Russians, for example at Bucha and Mariupol among others. These assertions are conveyed on the say so of the Ukrainian authorities. How willing though are western news broadcasters to convey atrocities attributed to the Ukrainians? The following will I think provide the answer.
If anyone wonders if they are receiving accurate coverage of the conflict in Ukraine I would suggest watching the video below of an event which occurred on the 2nd of June 2014 and ask themselves if they recall hearing about it on any mainstream media news channel at the time.
The video is harrowing to watch. The bodies (five women and three men) are real. Yet across western media there was only one single news report that occurred a day later. This was from CNN and occurred only because a CNN team happened to be nearby at the time of the atrocity and so the network could hardly ignore it as all others so obviously did.
The video below shows the unvarnished truth that was not considered newsworthy in western mainstream news.

What Do Ukraine’s Mass Mobilization Raids Reveal About Situation on the Battlefield?
Shock images coming out of Ukrainian cities have shown recruiters and police attempting to detain mobilization-age men at an array of public venues - from clubs and concert halls to malls, restaurants, gyms, gas stations and even a wedding. Veteran Ukraine expert Alexander Dudchak tells Sputnik what this new round of thuggish behavior means.
Ukrainian, Russian and Western mainstream and social media are actively discussing videos of large scale raids in Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa, Lvov, Khmelnytskyi, Krivoy Rog, Vinnitsa and other major Ukrainian cities of men in military fatigues, some wearing balaclavas or bandanas covering their faces, surrounding draft-age men and checking their documents.
On some occasions, crowds of angry bystanders seem to get the upper hand against the people-snatchers, forcing recruiters and cops to vacate premises to shouts of "Shame! Shame!" Elsewhere, men aren't so lucky, with automatic rifle-armed cops clad in black scuffling with detainees and stuffing them into waiting vans.
The thuggish methods on display are par for the course, but the scale of the raids seems to be a first, particularly when it comes to major cities, says Dudchak, who is also an expert with ‘Another Ukraine’ – a political and social movement consisting of Ukrainian politicians, journalists and others seeking an end to the NATO-fueled Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Desperate times may be calling for desperate measures, and the mobilization raids seem to be a sign of mounting problems on the battlefield, according to the observer, who pointed to the Russian military’s recent push to drive Ukrainian forces out of Kursk region, and advances in Donetsk and Kharkov.
More broadly, Dudchak expects an overall shift in Kiev’s tactics, saying both the Zelensky regime’s rhetoric and practice will shift “from attempts to organize a counteroffensive to blind defense. It’s quite possible that this will suit them, and the West, well – holding on to what they have and freezing the front line.”
Asked whether the current wave of forced mobilization may be Kiev's way of trying to put the conflict into hibernation mode, in light of the signals coming from Kiev of potential talks with Moscow, Dudchak expressed concerns that the latter may be a new attempt to "pull the wool over Russia's eyes," to agree a temporary freeze in hostilities that would inevitably resume at a latter date.
The Ukraine crisis today - described by many observers as a proxy war between NATO and Russia using Ukraine as a pawn, began as a civil war in the Donbass in the spring of 2014, which Moscow spent years trying to mediate using the so-called Minsk peace accords - which proposed a return of Ukrainian control over the rebellious Donetsk and Lugansk regions in exchange for their broad constitutional autonomy within Ukraine. Kiev dragged its feet on the Minsk deal for over seven years, and in 2022, Ukraine's former president, the ex-chancellor of Germany and the former president of France each admitted that Minsk was a ploy designed to give Kiev an opportunity to rearm in preparation for a conflict against Russia.

UK losing ‘propaganda’ battle to Russian media – BBC chief.
British state outlets can no longer reach audiences in the Global South, Tim Davie has said.
Funding cuts to the BBC World Service have allowed Russian and Chinese media outlets to spread “unchallenged propaganda” across the Global South, the director-general of the British state media giant has complained.
The BBC World Service broadcasts in around 40 languages to an audience of 320 million people per week. Two years ago, the network cut more than 380 jobs and stopped radio broadcasts in ten languages, including Arabic and Persian.
In a speech in London on Monday afternoon, Davie is expected to argue that “when the World Service retreats, state-funded media operators move in to take advantage,” according to remarks shared with British media outlets in advance.
Russia and China are “expanding their global media activities – investing hard to grow their audiences in key markets in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America,” Davie will say, claiming that “across Africa in particular, Russian media is incredibly active in promoting its narratives, with social media influencers amplifying propaganda and so-called ‘activists’ live-streaming pro-Russia rallies.”
“Kenya’s state broadcaster KBC has taken up Chinese output on TV and radio, as has Liberia’s state broadcaster LBS,” he will say. “Meanwhile, in Lebanon, Russian-backed media is now transmitting on the radio frequency previously occupied by BBC Arabic.”
“And this investment is seeing significant returns, not only in terms of the reach of Russian state broadcaster RT and China’s CGTN, but also in terms of trust.”
Davie will complain that “Russian-backed” journalists spread “unchallenged propaganda” in Lebanon on the day that thousands of Hezbollah’s communication devices simultaneously exploded in an apparent Israeli sabotage operation. “Had the BBC been able to retain our impartial radio output, these messages would have been much harder for local audiences to find,” he will claim.
Despite Davie’s claims of independence, the BBC is an almost entirely state-funded operation, financed by an annual license fee of £169.50 ($221) owed by every British household with a television or device capable of receiving broadcasts. The UK’s Office for National Statistics classifies the fee as a tax, and the BBC as part of the “central government sector” of the UK economy.

The British Foreign Office also pays £104 million ($135.5 million) of the World Service’s £334 million ($435.3 million) annual budget, and is the largest financial backer of the BBC’s ‘Media Action’ department. This department, which is also funded by the governments of the US, Canada, Norway, Sweden, the EU, the UN, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, claims that it spends this money fighting “disinformation, division and distrust” in two dozen developing countries.
Davie’s grievances echo those of the US State Department. After announcing a raft of sanctions on RT and its parent company last month, department official Jamie Rubin told reporters that “one of the reasons… why so much of the world has not been as fully supportive of Ukraine as you would think they would be… is because of the broad scope and reach of RT, where propaganda, disinformation and lies are spread to millions if not billions around the world.”
RT was banned from multiple social media platforms after the sanctions were announced. However, the network’s deputy editor-in-chief, Anna Belkina, stated afterwards that RT “isn’t going anywhere” and “will continue to find new ways to reach audiences – in every corner of the world.”

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) targeted a school serving as a refugee camp in central Gaza on Sunday evening, killing at least 22 civilians, including 15 children, several media outlets reported on Monday, citing local emergency services.
The Nuseirat camp, which is located at the center of the Palestinian enclave, had been housing hundreds of people, according to the news outlet Ahram. Some 80 people were also injured in the attack, according to the BBC, citing a civil defense spokesman.
The IDF said it was looking into the reports of civilian casualties. It did not comment on the target of the shelling or the reasons for the strike. According to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), the school building was going to be used to administer polio vaccines starting on Monday.
The Israeli military also killed four people and injured dozens more in a separate strike targeting the al-Aqsa hospital in central Gaza. The IDF stated its forces were targeting a “command-and-control center” of terrorists in a “precise strike.”
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the IDF’s actions and the large number of civilian casualties in the intensifying Israeli campaign. He “strongly urges all parties to the conflict to comply with international humanitarian law and emphasizes that civilians must be respected and protected at all times,” his spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, told journalists on Monday.

West Jerusalem recently declared the UN secretary-general persona non grata, accusing him of failing to “unequivocally condemn” Iran over its missile attack against Israel.
Israel declared war on the Gaza-based Palestinian militant group Hamas last October, after fighters killed around 1,100 people and took roughly 250 hostages in a surprise attack on the Jewish state. After almost a year of Israeli air and ground operations in Gaza, nearly 42,000 people have been killed, the majority of them women and children, according to the enclave’s Health Ministry.
Israeli forces had also been waging a low-intensity operation against the Lebanese-based Hezbollah organization. Last month, however, Israel launched a major air campaign in Lebanon that was preceded by the apparent Israeli sabotage of thousands of Hezbollah communication devices. A ground invasion followed earlier this month and the death toll in Lebanon currently stands at over 2,000 people, including 127 children, according to the country’s Health Ministry.
On Monday, at least 21 people were killed and eight injured in an Israeli air raid on northern Lebanon, the ministry said.

An associate professor from the University of Zimbabwe has spoken to RT about currency strategies and the New Development Bank.
The BRICS New Development Bank (NDB) provides more flexible and supportive terms than the International Monetary Fund (IMF), an associate professor at the University of Zimbabwe has told RT in an exclusive interview.
Kudzai Dominic Chiwenga, who is also the founder and chairman of the NPC Zimbabwe-Russia Youth Foundation, said the NDB was designed to provide a “fairer system” for member nations and other developing countries.
While the IMF was originally established to aid developing countries, many nations, including Zimbabwe, have found themselves trapped in cycles of debt, with high interest rates and unfavorable borrowing conditions, he stated.
The NDB, Chiwenga believes, could provide more equitable financial support and serve as a “breath of fresh air” for countries looking for alternatives to traditional global financial institutions. “It’s an open-door policy that is open to other countries,” he added.
The NDB was founded in 2015 by the BRICS nations – Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa – to mobilize resources for infrastructure and sustainable development projects in the bloc and other emerging markets. As part of its expansion, the bank welcomed Bangladesh, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Uruguay as new members in 2021. In September 2023, Algeria was also granted membership.

Chiwenga emphasized the importance of Zimbabwe’s evolving economic strategies. One such initiative is the country’s new currency, the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG), which is pegged to the commodity. The professor explained that this was part of a broader effort to anchor Zimbabwe’s economy to its abundant natural resources, particularly minerals.
“In Africa, we are rich in minerals, and naturally, we want to tether our economy to the areas where we are strongest in,” he said, referring to the country’s struggles with inflation and the impact of economic sanctions.
Zimbabwe has maintained a long-standing policy of fostering friendly relations with nations across the globe, including a strong bond with Russia, Chiwenga said.
According to the professor, the partnership between Harare and Moscow dates back to the Soviet era, when the African state sought support during its liberation from colonial rule.
The Soviet Union was one of the few nations that stood by Zimbabwe during this critical time, a connection that continues to thrive today. Despite external criticism, Zimbabwe remains committed to maintaining its friendships and advancing mutual cooperation in key areas such as agriculture, energy, education, tourism, technology, and innovation, he noted.

VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
And now, all this being said, we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the bestial elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to their number there at the gates of Hell and their doom. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In Donbass and beyond and in due course across the world.
Victory belongs to Russia: It is now only a matter of time.

SOCIAL MEDIA IS UNDERMINING WESTERN STATE & MASS MEDIA CONDITIONING
What views might you have now, and what preconceptions might you hold, on geopolitical issues if there were only your politicians and mainstream media news available to form them?
Imagine how it would be if you had only western politicians and mainstream media news to rely upon when it came to geopolitical issues. Undoubtedly you watch western legacy media news from time… unless you have wisely totally switched off from it. Likewise regarding western politicians on these kinds of issues and topics. Either way you will doubtless be aware of the kind of content they deliver, 100% in favor of whatever is the agreed state narrative ignoring all else, with a dash of speculation that bigs up the favored side and denigrates the other.
The above is what passes for informing the public when it comes to political entities unload, and journalism when it comes to the primary western news outlets. All will claim they are impartial, unbiased truth tellers simply attempting to provide the facts as they see them. Believe this at your peril. What once passed for integrity within the political sphere and for impartial journalism and news gathering in the mainstream, is now so one-sided and partisan that its true definition is propaganda. Luckily in our day and age we need no longer rely on the “information” these sources offer us.
Corporate interests will always tend to reflect the viewpoints, attitudes and agendas of the Establishment. Those who work within the spheres of established concerns such as the BBC, CNN and all the others that make up the most prominent “news” organizations all belong to the same club and as comedian George Carlin memorably stated, “You Ain’t In It” and neither are most of those who work within social media. This excludes certain well-heeled rebels such as Elon Musk of course, but in the main those who would be authentic truth tellers tend not to be of the well-heeled class. This is why it is very possible you will hear something closer to the truth from them.
This is not to say that everything on social media is more trustworthy than that which you can find in mainstream news outlets. There are plenty of individuals who wish to deliver the exact same message as you will find in the mainstream on the Ukraine conflict for instance. YouTube is full of them and search engines like Google prioritize them. In fact, using Google to search for those who see things differently from the mainstream outlets are almost impossible to find via Google and not all that easy performing a YouTube search either. Finding out who to trust is a long-term project that starts with a recommendation most times. A name is suggested such as Alexander Mercouris. Then you watch and listen to him and decide over time if you can trust he is providing something close to the reality in Ukraine at any one time.
Once you have created a subscription list on YouTube of the individuals you most trust then you have a good, solid base for understanding the other side of the Ukraine conflict that the mainstream avoids like the plague. They will tell you something of what is happening both positively and negatively for each side. They won’t talk solely on the positive aspects of the Ukrainian prospects and activities of the last 24 hours, they will deliver an overview on how both sides have fared over the last 12 or 24 hours. Whereas on mainstream news channels there is a vow of silence on a whole raft of no-no subjects and a mandatory positive spin on others. On social media, if you have found, through consistency of delivery, trustworthy sources your chances of gaining a true insight into conflicts such as that in Ukraine is far higher than through mainstream media news.
It is a rather scary and forbidding concept, to imagine our world where only the mainstream view exists. That world is the world George Orwell conceived of in his novel ‘1984’, a world where the state and its functionaries determined what was real and what was not and manipulated all aspects of news to condition their populations into accepting their distortions as fact. The present western world in a great many respects mirrors the dystopian and totalitarian world Orwell conceived of. If your view conflicts with the mandated views of the Establishment and others are influenced by you, you could be made into a non-person via the cancel culture that now dominates in the West. If you are like Scott Ritter and demand to have the free speech promised by the U.S. Constitution you may have your house raided by the FBI. The threat is always there that if you say things that the State disagrees with you could be in big trouble.
The western world, the supposedly ‘Free World’ is being turned into the ‘Fear World’ of Orwell, through an Establishment gripped by fear that it is losing its grip and is no longer as able to manipulate us as it was before. Social media has interrupted and intervened to ask questions concerning state narratives that newspapers and TV news applying actual journalism used to do. Now that mainstream news outlets are fully supportive of western state narratives there is no longer an agency within the mainstream to protect us from the abuses of power we know do emanate from the Establishment, especially at times such as these. Of course, until now it is still a relative minority who have the time and inclination to delve deeper than the mainstream narratives via social media. The majority remain the ‘Headline Surfers’ who feel they need nothing more than that to be ‘in the know’.
Those who have taken the trouble to look deeper are in for a shock. To find out just how corrupted mainstream “news” has become will hit people hard, their whole world view may change. Instead of having a degree of respect for mainstream figures in both political and media spheres they may well find themselves absolutely loathing them and will take care to avoid being exposed to lies and serial attempts to condition and brainwash them. It may not be evident just yet but the number of those who have come through the shockwave of understanding just how much the Establishment lies to us has grown very large and its effects will be seen across many election cycles. Already quite a number of politicians have fallen victim to the so-called ‘Zelensky Curse’ and I predict we will soon see the fall of a great many more.
