A lot has been said about atrocities in the western media claimed to have been perpetrated by the Russians, for example at Bucha and Mariupol among others. These assertions are conveyed on the say so of the Ukrainian authorities. How willing though are western news broadcasters to convey atrocities attributed to the Ukrainians? The following will I think provide the answer.
If anyone wonders if they are receiving accurate coverage of the conflict in Ukraine I would suggest watching the video below of an event which occurred on the 2nd of June 2014 and ask themselves if they recall hearing about it on any mainstream media news channel at the time.
The video is harrowing to watch. The bodies (five women and three men) are real. Yet across western media there was only one single news report that occurred a day later. This was from CNN and occurred only because a CNN team happened to be nearby at the time of the atrocity and so the network could hardly ignore it as all others so obviously did.
The video below shows the unvarnished truth that was not considered newsworthy in western mainstream news.

Gonzalo Lira’s relatives have blamed his death on Washington and Kiev.
Chilean-American blogger Gonzalo Lira has died in a Ukrainian prison, his family said on Friday.
Lira, 55 at the time of his death, lived in Kharkov and blogged as ‘CoachRedPill,’ but switched to YouTube commentary after the conflict with Russia escalated in February 2022. He was arrested by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) last May and accused of “discrediting” the Ukrainian leadership and the military.
“I cannot accept the way my son has died. He was tortured, extorted, incommunicado for 8 months and 11 days and the US Embassy did nothing to help my son. The responsibility of this tragedy is the dictator Zelensky with the concurrence of a senile American President, Joe Biden,” his father Gonzalo Lira Sr. wrote in a note published by The Grayzone.
Lira Sr. also reached out to X host Tucker Carlson, confirming the death of his son in Ukrainian custody. He had spoken to Carlson about the case in early December.

Lira resurfaced from custody in late July with a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), revealing his torture in jail and attempts by the SBU to extort him for money. He said he was trying to flee to Hungary and seek asylum. “Either I'll cross the border and make it to safety, or I'll be disappeared by the Kiev regime,” he wrote, in his last public message.
Two days later, a source confirmed to RT that Lira had been caught and imprisoned by Ukrainian authorities.
According to a handwritten note Lira’s sister received on January 4, provided to the Grayzone by her father, Gonzalo Lira Jr. had severe health problems caused by pneumonia and a collapsed lung, which began in mid-October. Ukrainian prison authorities only acknowledged the issue on December 22, and stated he would undergo surgery.
Following his father's appearance on Carlson’s show, X owner Elon Musk personally inquired about Lira's case with both US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, apparently to no effect.
Lira was a national of both the US and Chile. According to his thread from last July, the Chilean Embassy in Kiev at least tried to help him, while the US mission gave him only “empty bromides.” Lira suggested that this was because Victoria Nuland – currently the acting deputy to Secretary of State Antony Blinken – hated him personally.

Officials in Kiev have argued that strikes deep inside Russia are the best way to defend their nation.
Western donors should not tell Ukraine how it can use the weapons provided to it, Estonian President Alar Karis argued on Thursday, as he touted his nation’s record of arming Kiev against Russia.
The US and its allies have been sending increasingly sophisticated military equipment, while cautioning against using them to strike parts of Russia that Ukraine acknowledges to be under Moscow’s sovereignty. Ukrainian officials have complained that this condition undermines their effectiveness in pursuing the war.
Karis said there should be no such restrictions, while giving a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Tallinn. He noted that Estonia has pledged to spend 0.25% of its GDP on military aid for Ukraine over the next several years, and urged other Western nations to offer at least the same level of support. Tallinn’s contribution will total €1.2 billion ($1.3 billion) by the end of 2027, he promised.
Zelensky toured the three Baltic nations – Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia – this week to rally support for the Ukrainian cause. Kiev is facing a shortage of financial and military assistance, after its troops failed to make any significant territorial gains against Russia last year, despite receiving Western main battle tanks, cruise missiles and other heavy weapons.
While Zelensky was visiting the region, the US government confirmed that it had run out of money for Ukraine and could not send any more arms. The aid has “ground to a halt,” national security spokesman John Kirby said on Thursday. Additional funding requested by the White House has been blocked by Republican opposition in Congress.
The Ukrainian military has complained about an increasing shortage of air defense systems and munitions amid continued Russian strikes. Yury Ignat, a spokesman for the Air Force, said this week that the “best method” of addressing the disparity would be to attack launchers on Russian soil.

Washington is ratcheting up regional tensions for its own goals, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Western airstrikes in Yemen are aimed at escalating tensions in the Middle East, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said. Overnight, the US and its allies attacked dozens of targets, which they identified as Houthi military assets.
The military action came in retaliation for attempts by the shiite movement to disrupt maritime traffic in the Red Sea to damage Israel. The Houthis targeted ships that they claimed were linked with the Jewish state in response to the three-month siege of Gaza.
While several nations participated in the strikes, Zakharova singled out the US as the leading force behind the action. In a social media post on Friday morning, she described them as an example of the “total disregard for international law in the name of escalation of the situation for [Western] destructive goals.” She promised to deliver a more detailed statement on the situation later in the day.
The attacks in Yemen were conducted in coordination with the UK and with support from Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, and Bahrain, according to US Central Command. It claimed that Washington’s goal was to “de-escalate tensions and restore stability in the Red Sea.”
Moscow has accused the US of standing in the way of international efforts to quell the Middle East conflict by blocking any proposed US Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Israel started the campaign in retaliation for a deadly incursion by the Palestinian militant group Hamas in early October, and claims its goal is to obliterate this threat. Washington has provided military support for the Israeli military operation despite voicing concerns over the high number of civilian casualties.
At least 20,000 people have been killed in the Palestinian enclave, according to local officials – roughly 1% of its population.

VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
And now, all this being said, we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the bestial elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to their number there at the gates of Hell and their doom. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In Donbass and beyond and in due course across the world.
Victory belongs to Russia: It is now only a matter of time.

NUCLEAR WAR IS COMING
Unless reason prevails, and there is no sign of this even remotely appearing on the horizon, the use of nuclear weapons is inevitable, and on both sides. This appears inevitable now due to the impossibility of any settlement being brokered as only one side has ever been willing to engage in meaningful talks. With the Zelensky regime having counted itself out of any such arrangement and the western powers actively desiring an endless continuation of the conflict, an endless escalation up to and including nuclear, is inevitable.
The Republican Party, up to this point in time, appeared to be resisting another $60 billion in support for Ukraine but now show a new willingness to sign off on this and in addition every being willing to vote for the theft of $300 billion in frozen Russian assets also to be used to support the war. In addition, the European Union is approaching the point of providing 50 billion euro over a four year period to Ukraine.
Add to the above the transfer of missiles capable of traversing 300 kilometres to Ukraine and you can see where this is headed, to ever more war. Russia, in response to all of the above will have no good option but to escalate in turn.
Why has this situation reached such a stage where mass death and destruction through the use of nuclear weapons appears inevitable? And if it is indeed inevitable what are the factors on each side that make it so.
From the US/UK/EU side of things the crucial thing to understand are the catastrophic outcomes within the political and media elites post 9/11 and the most crucial factor to understand is the decision made immediately after 9/11 that, in combination with Russia’s existential concerns makes a nuclear conflict all but certain.
THE US/UK/EU VIEW
The decision was made after 9/11 to agree an unquestionable goal, to achieve 'full spectrum dominance' through undermining, removing and replacing ALL perceived opponents to total western hegemony. That goal was NEVER meant to be relinquished and never meant to be questioned. Its achievement was seen to be then and continues to be seen today as an ABSOLUTE NECESSITY, never to be countermanded, never even to be questioned.
The subsequent and equal goal to the one above, when ALL opposing entities were eliminated, was to establish worldwide surveillance and ability to strike down at any and all nascent perceived threats.
This all stems from 9/11. If even one opposing element continues to exist that has the power of significant resistance to western power (such as Russia or China) then the USA and its allies cannot rest and will pursue the goal of eliminating them to the bitter end.
The USA and its allies believe they must have absolute oversight and total manipulative control in order to eliminate any and all emerging threats and they consider that they will never feel fully secure again if they cannot arrive at this status. This is why we are most likely heading toward a nuclear conflagration with no way out. Neither side can relent because both sides see the end of their security in that relenting. So, what is the view from that other side?
THE RUSSIAN VIEW
It must surely be concluded that the Russians are now fully aware of the goal the western powers have set themselves. This was clearly not always the case. Vladimir Putin, by his own admission, has been somewhat blind to this. After 9/11 he sought to assist the USA and their allies in their Afghanistan campaign after being one of the first to phone then president George W Bush offering that assistance to him.
It has taken several betrayals and bouts of western deception to disabuse Putin of the idea that the western powers could usefully be negotiated with. It is only in the past six months or so that the truth has fully and comprehensively dawned upon him that there never was any true integrity or sincerity in the approach to the Ukrainian problem that he had been working hard to resolve peacefully since 2014. It is only in recent times that Putin stopped talking of the U.S. and European elites as Russia’s “partners”. Now he knows them with fully open eyes for what they truly are, Russia’s enemies seeking to weaken it sufficiently for it then to be broken up into multiple, manageable parts.
The goal of destroying the Russian Federation as it now exists, of eliminating its present system of government, replacing those now governing it and breaking it up, all in order to ensure it can be manipulated into the shape the western powers wish, is what is at stake. Putin knows this now as increasingly does the entire Russian population. The Ukrainian campaign therefore is of existential importance to Russia, just as the security risks informing the post-9/11 goals are for the U.S. elites. Here is the impasse that cannot be reconciled. Both must win and for each side the consequences of not winning are unthinkable.
The primary danger at work in all this is the 'war mode' mentality that prevails across the political leadership of the USA plus its allies, along with a completely myopic focus on creating solely positive narratives in regard to providing ever more support for Ukraine. This has created an almost complete neglect of just how much the ultimate outcome of this conflict means to Russia.
This conflict truly could not possibly have a higher priority for Russia. This is about Russia’s national security and sovereignty at a time when the hounds of war are baying at its door. The West should know that Russia will use ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING in its arsenal if it needs to. However, the leadership of the West is SO foolishly playing the game of Ukraine white, Russia black that it has totally blinded itself to these realities.
The situation could not possibly be more dangerous.
There appears no way to divert the most aggressive of these protagonists from the path they are on. The western powers clearly have no Plan B and will escalate without limit. For Russia’s part it has been clear from 2014 onward that Russia was vainly searching for a peaceful solution. However, after a decade of work aiming for that goal through the Minsk Process it all ended in deceit and betrayal by successive Ukrainian regimes and US/EU/UK authorities.
At this terrifyingly late stage, unless western leaders wake up to the insanity their current machinations and utterly self-seeking policies are leading to, we might as well confront the full reality of where we are headed and start readying ourselves for the unleashing of weapons we consider almost unimaginable in their power, and the potential end of all we know.
