Russian Forces Liberate Two Settlements and Destroy US-Made Patriot Systems in Donetsk.
The Russian military destroyed a radar station (AN/MPQ-65) and four launchers of the US-made Patriot air defense system in the special operation zone.
Forces of Russia’s Tsentr Battlegroup have liberated the settlement of Pushkino, the Russian Ministry of Defense has reported, while units from the Yug Battlegroup have taken control of Vesely Gai in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).
Recently, the operational-strategic group of Ukrainian forces Khortytsia reported that, due to the successful actions of the Russian military in the eastern direction, Ukrainian forces could no longer hold some of their positions. This included the area around Pushkino.
In early December, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the Public Chamber's Commission on Sovereignty and Co-Chairman of the Coordination Council for the Integration of New Regions, stated that the Ukrainian military grouping south of Kurakhovo, near the villages of Vesely Gai and Annovka in the DPR, was effectively under the threat of being completely encircled.
The Russian military also reported the destruction of an AN/MPQ-65 radar station and four Patriot air defense system launchers made by the United States.
"Operational-tactical aviation, strike drones, missile forces, and artillery of the Russian Armed Forces destroyed a command vehicle, the AN/MPQ-65 radar station, and four Patriot air defense system launchers. They also targeted military airfield infrastructure and concentrated enemy personnel and military equipment in 146 areas," the ministry's report said.

No Taurus Missiles: SPD Backs Scholz’s Approach to Ukraine and NATO's Limits.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's Social Democratic Party (SPD) plans to include a ban on supplying Ukraine with Taurus cruise missiles in its election program, but will support other ways to provide military assistance to Kiev, the Funke media group reported on Sunday, citing a draft document it had seen.
The SPD's election program stresses that neither Germany nor NATO should get involved in the Ukrainian conflict.
"Therefore we support Chancellor Olaf Scholz's decision not to supply Taurus cruise missiles from the Bundeswehr's stockpiles," the document, quoted by Funke, read.
However, the party supports military training for Ukrainian soldiers to protect Ukraine and "ensure peace in Europe," and advocates arms and equipment supplies to Kiev provided that they are carried out with "prudence and a sense of proportion." The SPD also reaffirms its commitment to providing diplomatic, military, financial and humanitarian support to Ukraine.
"Ukraine should be able to conduct possible negotiations with Russia on equal terms," the document read.

Scholz has repeatedly said that he will not change his decision to deny Taurus missiles to Ukraine or allow Kiev to use German-supplied weapons to strike Russia's internationally recognized territories. At the same time, the head of the opposition Christian Democratic Union, Friedrich Merz, said that if elected chancellor, he would call on Russia to stop striking Ukrainian infrastructure within 24 hours, otherwise Berlin would supply Kiev with Taurus missiles.
Scholz's three-party government imploded in early November after he fired Finance Minister Christian Lindner, the Free Democratic Party leader, citing his unwillingness to greenlight an increase in the aid to Ukraine simultaneously with an increase in domestic spending.

A “realistic” ceasefire deal will involve some territorial losses for Kiev, Peter Pellegrini has said.

The Ukraine conflict will not be resolved until Kiev accepts some “partial territorial losses,” Slovak President Peter Pellegrini has said. Pellegrini and Prime Minister Robert Fico have both called on Russia and Ukraine to enter immediate peace talks.
Speaking to Slovakia’s broadcaster STVR on Sunday, Pellegrini said that daily updates from the front line have convinced him that Ukraine cannot hope to achieve its territorial goals – the return of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson, Zaporozhye and Crimea – by force.
”When it comes to peace, I believe that we need to remain realistic,” he told the network. “Today, probably no sane person in Europe believes that it will be possible to achieve peace without some partial territorial losses for Ukraine.”
The president then called on Ukraine and Russia to sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible.
Ukraine gas transit talks fraught with ‘pitfalls’ – EU state
Pellegrini’s comments echo those made by Fico earlier this week. Speaking to Brazil’s Folha de Sao Paulo news outlet, the Slovak PM said that it is necessary to be “at least a little realistic” and to “admit that Russia will never leave Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk.”
After taking office last year, Fico immediately halted military aid from Bratislava to Kiev, and vowed to veto Ukraine’s potential accession to NATO. He has also accused “Ukrainian Nazis and fascists” of starting the conflict by “murdering the Russian population of Donbass,” and has condemned his fellow EU leaders for prolonging the fighting with military aid and sanctions on Moscow.
”What is the result? The Russians are gaining more and more territory, the sanctions are not working, and Ukraine is no longer strong enough for possible negotiations,” he told Folha de Sao Paulo. Fico also predicted that Kiev will likely be “betrayed” by its Western backers and possibly end up losing a third of its territories without being invited into NATO, receiving security guarantees only in the form of a foreign troop presence in the country.
Moscow maintains that any settlement must begin with Ukraine ceasing military operations and acknowledging the “territorial reality” that it will never regain control of its former regions. In addition, the Kremlin insists that the goals of its military operation – which include Ukrainian neutrality, demilitarization, and denazification – will be achieved.

”We are watching the machinations of possibly the end of an empire, the Western empire. The mask is off. We, the West, behave with unbearable brutality towards oppressed peoples all over the world,” he said. “We, the people, hate it. We hate the brutality of our governments.”
This is “an existential battle for the soul of the human race,” Waters added. He believes his side has billions of like-minded supporters.
If the empire wins this battle, our children and grandchildren and any survivors of this stuff will have to live in a future where we’ve just all agreed that a genocide is OK.
Waters mocked activists who cheered the fall of the Syrian government earlier this month. The government in Damascus never had a chance to make things better for the Syrian people because of Western sanctions and the partial military occupation of the country, he said. The US has effectively been “stealing” Syrian oil for a decade, Waters claimed.
”We are a gang of powerful gangsters here, and we are going to steal everything that there is in the world that is worth stealing,” he said of the West’s policy.

German Politician Slams Anti-Russian Sanctions As ‘State Coup’ Against European Industry.
The European Union's continued sanctions against Russia harms member states that still import Russian oil and is akin to a "state coup" against Europe's industry, Ralph Niemeyer, head of the German Council for the Constitution and Sovereignty, told Sputnik.
On Wednesday, the Hungarian EU presidency announced that ambassadors from member states had agreed on the EU's 15th package of sanctions against Russia. Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp said the new package of restrictions targeted Russia's "shadow fleet."
"This is madness. It is like a state coup against our own industry. It is inexplicable. We still buy Russian [oil] and import it via India. It is a crazy situation, and I think all these sanctions have only made life harder but had no political effect on Russia," Niemeyer specified.
After these sanctions were imposed, Russia began manufacturing many goods at home. Now even European companies are eager to return to the Russian market, Niemeyer told Sputnik, adding that this situation shows that these restrictions "no longer impress anyone."

Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
And now, all this being said, we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the bestial elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to their number there at the gates of Hell and their doom. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In Donbass and beyond and in due course across the world.
Victory belongs to Russia: It is now only a matter of time.
