A lot has been said about atrocities in the western media claimed to have been perpetrated by the Russians, for example at Bucha and Mariupol among others. These assertions are conveyed on the say so of the Ukrainian authorities. How willing though are western news broadcasters to convey atrocities attributed to the Ukrainians? The following will I think provide the answer.
If anyone wonders if they are receiving accurate coverage of the conflict in Ukraine I would suggest watching the video below of an event which occurred on the 2nd of June 2014 and ask themselves if they recall hearing about it on any mainstream media news channel at the time.
The video is harrowing to watch. The bodies (five women and three men) are real. Yet across western media there was only one single news report that occurred a day later. This was from CNN and occurred only because a CNN team happened to be nearby at the time of the atrocity and so the network could hardly ignore it as all others so obviously did.
The video below shows the unvarnished truth that was not considered newsworthy in western mainstream news.

Many dead in Ukrainian strikes on Russian border region.
At least four people were killed and over a dozen injured in a series of attacks on Belgorod Region, the local governor has said.

Ukrainian forces carried out multiple drone and artillery strikes on the Russian city of Belgorod and several villages near the border overnight, claiming the lives of four civilians and injuring many others including children, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Sunday.
Around 30 projectiles were shot down over the Russian border region on between Saturday evening and early Sunday morning, according to Gladkov. Despite the interceptions, the attacks caused multiple casualties.
“It grieves me to say that the number of civilian deaths has increased to four,” the official wrote on Telegram.
Three of the fatalities resulted from rocket strikes on Oktyabrsky village shortly before 7pm. Two people died on the spot, while another man succumbed to “shrapnel wounds to his lower extremities” in a hospital a few hours later.
The Ukrainian forces launched multiple drone raids and artillery strikes on the city of Belgorod and several villages near the Russia-Ukraine border, which claimed the lives of four civilians while many others, including children, suffered shrapnel injuries, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov has said.
The Russian border region suffered a spate of strikes, with almost 30 incoming projectiles shot down from the skies over the course of Saturday evening and early Sunday morning, according to Gladkov. However, despite the interceptions, the attack resulted in multiple casualties.
“To much grief, the number of civilian deaths increased to 4 people,” the official wrote on Telegram.
Three of the victims were killed as a result of rocket artillery strikes on the Oktyabrsky settlement shortly before 7pm. Two of them died on the spot, while another man succumbed to “shrapnel wounds to his lower extremities” in a hospital a few hours later. Another woman “was killed as a result of a direct hit in the yard of a private residential house in the village of Dubovoye,” Gladkov wrote around 9pm, adding that she “was in a greenhouse at the time of the attack and died of her injuries before the ambulance arrived.”
While there were no casualties in the city of Belgorod itself, at least two apartment buildings suffered heavy damage as a result of direct artillery hits. Two schools were damaged by blasts and shrapnel, while several commercial buildings also had their facades, windows and roofs partially destroyed. Several vehicles were damaged and were burned entirely, according to videos from the scene.
By midnight, the number of those injured across the region reached at least 16 people, including at least two children.
A 8-year-old boy who was wounded in the shelling of the Oktyabrsky settlement suffered a “blast injury and external trauma to the lumbar back region,” Gladkov wrote, adding that the child’s “condition has been characterized as of medium severity.”
In another incident, a 9-year-old girl was injured when a “moving car was attacked by a drone on the highway between the village of Borisovka and the hamlet of Plotvyanka in the Volokonovsky district,” Gladkov added.

Ukraine releases first convicts to fill military ranks.
Nearly 350 inmates have already been freed, while some 4,000 more applications are being considered by the courts, the country’s justice minister has said.
Ukraine has already enlisted nearly 350 newly freed inmates in its military under a new program that provides parole in exchange for service, according to Ukrainian Justice Minister Denis Maliuska.
Speaking to the New York Times on Friday, the minister revealed that more than 4,300 prisoners have submitted applications to join the military and thus gain their freedom.
Most of the applications of those not yet released are currently being considered by courts, Maliuska stated, adding that the country expects to bolster the ranks of its military by up to 20,000 people through the scheme.
Enlisting prisoners helps alleviate both shortages of military personnel and “difficulties” with drafting the general population, the minister admitted.
The deficit of soldiers – of course, the difficulties with the draft of ordinary citizens – those were the main reasons for the law.
The law enabling some prisoners to be paroled if they enlist was approved by Vladimir Zelensky earlier this month. According to the legislation, the mechanism will be in effect for as long as the country remains under martial law. The option to enlist is available only to convicts with no more than three years left on their sentence, while those convicted of serious crimes, such as premeditated murder, rape, and drug trafficking, are not eligible.
The drive to enlist convicts comes as part of a broader initiative by Kiev to fill the ranks of its military. Ukraine launched a mobilization drive in the early days of the conflict, but the process became increasingly violent and lawless over time. Numerous videos circulating online purport to show enlistment officers engaging in coercive behavior such as chasing potential recruits in the streets, raiding public transportation, and brawling with draft dodgers.
Last month, Zelensky signed a controversial mobilization law that lowered the conscription age from 27 to 25, greatly expanded the powers of enlistment officers, and introduced additional penalties for draft dodgers.
While Ukraine claims to have lost only 31,000 servicemen killed since the beginning of the hostilities in February 2022, the actual tally is widely believed to be in the hundreds of thousands. According to estimates voiced by then-Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu earlier this month, Kiev’s forces have lost more than 111,000 soldiers since the beginning of the year alone.

The Pentagon unveiled a new $275 million aid package for Ukraine on Friday.
Washington is not interested in pursuing peace in Europe and only prolongs the suffering of Vladimir Zelensky’s regime, Russia’s ambassador to the US, Anatoly Antonov, told journalists, commenting on the latest US weapons package for Ukraine.
The US Defense Department revealed a $275 million aid package for Kiev on Friday, to address its “urgent battlefield needs,” as the Ukrainian armed forces are losing ground in Donbass and Kharkov Region.
“It is emblematic,” Antonov said, that “the US announces this supply of deadly products from the local defense industry on the very same day when the Russian leadership clearly and unequivocally confirmed its readiness for negotiations.”
“Washington does not want peace in Europe. It is doing everything to prolong the conflict and increase casualties on the Russian and Ukrainian sides, including among civilians.”
Meanwhile, Washington has hinted that it could greenlight “missile strikes deep into the Russian territory,” he added. He urged Washington to recognize the situation “on the ground,” and “stop trying to prolong the agony of its pet regime.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated that Moscow is ready to return to the negotiating table, provided that talks are based on the current realities on the ground.
“But with whom to negotiate? That’s a peculiar question, I agree,” he told journalists on Friday, noting that “the legitimacy of the incumbent head of the [Ukrainian] state has expired.”
It’s up to Ukraine’s legal system, its parliament, constitutional court, and other bodies to determine how to move forward, Putin said.
Zelensky’s term as president expired on Monday, with no elections scheduled due to martial law, which was introduced soon after the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in February 2022.

Brazil and China announced a rival initiative on Friday, further demoting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s conference aimed at pushing through his unworkable “peace formula.”
The two countries support an international peace conference “held at a proper time that is recognized by both Russia and Ukraine, with equal participation of all parties as well as fair discussion of all peace plans,” they said in a statement.
The joint document was signed by Celso Amorim, special adviser to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and stated:
Dialogue and negotiation are the only viable solution to the Ukraine crisis.
Conditions should be created for resumption of direct dialogue, with de-escalation until a comprehensive ceasefire is in effect.
An international peace conference should be held with participation of both Russia and Ukraine.
Attacks on civilians and civilian facilities must be avoided.
Targeting nuclear power plants and other peaceful nuclear facilities must be opposed.
Use of weapons of mass destruction, particularly nuclear weapons and chemical and biological weapons, must be opposed.
All possible efforts must be made to prevent nuclear proliferation and avoid nuclear crisis.
The world should not be divided “into isolated political or economic groups,” the two countries stated.

The initiative from Brazil and China came after their presidents refused to attend the Ukraine “peace summit” set for June 15 to 16. The event in Lucerne is plagued by major no-shows. Joe Biden’s attention has been diverted to more pressing issues such as rubbing elbows with Hollywood celebs at his fundraiser.
Besides the leaders of Brazil and China, South Africa has also refused to attend the event. Moscow has dismissed the conference, to which it was not invited, as “meaningless.” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the conference is clearly not result-oriented, as it is impossible to have effective talks on Ukraine without Russia's participation.
Analysis: Zelensky Emerges as 'First Obstacle' to Peaceful Resolution of Ukrainian Conflict
As far as the upcoming talks in Switzerland are concerned, Russia's President Vladimir Putin suggested that they constitute an effort by the Kiev regime's patrons to confer legitimacy on Zelensky now that his legal term as president has expired.
Volodymyr Zelenesky's constitutionally-mandated term as Ukraine's president expired on May 21. He canceled elections planned for March or April last November.
Putin emphasized at Friday's press conference that Russia remains ready to resume peace negotiations with Ukraine, including based on the draft agreements inked during talks in Belarus and Turkiye in the spring of 2022, but accounting for the current realities on the ground.
Regarding Zelensky's 10-point peace plan, it is nothing but an ultimatum to Russia, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted on Wednesday as he chaired a meeting of BRICS sherpas and sous-sherpas in Moscow. He added that the US was imposing Zelensky's formula on everyone, inviting countries of the Global South to its platforms, such as the upcoming Lucerne meeting.
Russia's top diplomat also revealed that the Ukrainian president "hysterically" demanded that other nations back his proposed "peace formula" ahead of the gathering.

UN Vote on Srebrenica an 'Offense That Will Be Remembered' - Balkan Affairs Expert.
The controversial German co-sponsored Srebrenica resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly will not be taken lightly, and, will inevitably open up “old wounds” in the Western Balkans region, political analyst Stevan Gajic believes.
Millions of Serbs like veteran Balkan affairs expert Stevan Gajic were left reeling when the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on the events of 1995 in Srebrenica. They feel deeply offended by Germany, which co-sponsored the controversial motion, the political analyst told Sputnik.
Memories of atrocities committed by German forces in World War II, and later killings carried out by the Bosnian Muslims are indelibly seared into their memories.
“I can't speak calmly about this resolution,” Stevan Gajic said. He recalled the painful events from the Second World War, saying:
“Multiple members of my family were murdered by German occupiers during World War II. My grandfather was a war prisoner in a German prison camp in Norway. And, I think that millions of Serbs who also have similar family stories are deeply offended by Germany.”
The United Nations General Assembly passed a controversial resolution Thursday designating July 11 as the "International Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the 1995 Genocide in Srebrenica," and condemning “without reservation any denial of the Srebrenica genocide as a historical event.” The Germany and Rwanda-sponsored resolution passed without an outright majority, with 84 countries voting in favor, 19 against, and 68 abstaining.
Russia, Serbia, China, Syria, Cuba, and Hungary were among the nations opposed to the resolution. Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia called the resolution “provocative” and a “threat to peace and security.” After the vote, he underscored that Germany "has no moral authority to even mention the term of genocide to describe anything other than their own atrocious crimes."
Serbian officials decried the vote, claiming that the resolution brands Serbs as a “genocidal people” and, as such, imposes collective guilt on them. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic called the resolution “highly politicized,” adding that it would "open Pandora’s Box."
"You are going to face dozens of this type of resolutions on the genocide issue,” Vucic warned.
Germany, Stevan Gajic noted, waged three wars against the Serbs in the 20th century, occupying Serbian lands in WWI and WWII, and “committed genocide both times.”
Furthermore, then-Chancellor Gerhard Schroder and his Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer from Germany's co-governing Green party rallied in support of the NATO bombing campaign against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Gajic recalled. It was the very same Green party that Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock hails from.
German Kosovo Force (KFOR) troops advancing into the country after NATO's bombing and aggression against the Serbs “murdered two Serbian civilians in cold blood while they were in their car," said the research associate at the Institute of European Studies in Belgrade.
Gajic’s family also suffered at the hands of the Bosnian Muslim forces from Srebrenica.
“They brutally murdered my uncle, Ljubisa Gajic, on June 27, 1992, at the village where generations of my ancestors with my family name came from, were born and lived... This village, Magdovici, does not exist on the map anymore,” he said.
But besides reopening old wounds, the fallout from the resolution will likely see Europe engulfed in a series of conflicts, “because of such conduct of Western countries, especially the perpetrators of World War II and Germany,” the pundit stressed.

The world’s center of gravity is shifting, and the Old World is losing its relevance.

Europe remains an important strategic focus for Russia, but it’s no longer the main topic of discussion. Today, many see it as a “lost continent,” where the Western half has stopped acting based on its own interests and finds it difficult to even define them. States are increasingly losing their autonomy and succumbing to pressure from the US.
The growing presence of NATO on Russia’s western borders worries our country. There are signs of the US-led bloc’s transition from hibernation to preparations for a major military confrontation in Europe. The path of increasing escalation and pressure on Russia is a dead end: Moscow takes the NATO threat seriously and has the means to deal with it. The militarization of the Baltic states, the strengthening of the bloc’s influence in the Black Sea and near the Russian border will increase the number of episodes in which our interests collide and keep us in constant tension.
Russia has no aggressive plans against the Baltics – this is a threat invented by Washington and Brussels. However, if NATO chooses the path of escalating tensions, Moscow will not shy away from this challenge. I believe that this path is a fool’s errand for Western Europe – it becomes a hostage to the American desire to isolate the EU’s main economies from Russia.
Escalation creates a series of phobias, removes any impetus for economic cooperation and ultimately ties Western European states to the US economy, making them much less competitive.
As a result, the Americans are “cannibalizing” the Western Europeans under the noble guise of protecting the European continent from an imaginary Russian threat. I believe that those in Western Europe should not be blind to this artificial inflation of tensions by the US – they must act in their own interests.

Russia has now turned its attention to other regions of the world and is developing its historic relations with the countries of Asia and Africa with great vigor. To some extent, Western Europe is turning away from Russia and Russia is turning away from Western Europe.
I accept that this, like many things in history, is a spiral. And in time there will be a process of return. But it is obvious that today Western Europe is for Russia not a region that is very important or offers many opportunities. On the contrary, what we hear from there nowadays are the most bellicose statements, but not backed up by much political resolve. While Russia continues to perceive Western European actions against our country as a threat, the focus of Moscow’s attention is shifting to other parts of the world.
At the same time, the US remains the most active – in a destructive sense – force in international relations, constantly working to create ad hoc coalitions to use against its opponents. Now it’s acting more and more feverishly, realizing that time is not on its side.
Instead of this nonsense, it would be wise for Washington to accept that objective demographic, economic and social processes are making Asia the world’s main center of gravity in the new century, and to work to ensure that the conditions for stability and development are maintained. The actions of the Americans, unfortunately, show the opposite: they are exacerbating the perception of their own decline, which would be less acute if they behaved more constructively.
The shift of the center of gravity from the Atlantic region to East and South Asia is an objective process. Moscow and Washington are only indirectly involved in it, but the growing influence of the countries of this region cannot be denied or stopped. In this context, relations between Russia and China are remarkable – although there have been crises between our countries in the past, Russian-Chinese relations are now at their peak and are one of the fundamental pillars of a new balanced international order.
As early as the mid-1990s, Russia and China formulated a common vision of the world of the future. It was enshrined in the 1997 ‘Declaration on a Multipolar World and the Formation of a New International Order’. And since then, the Russian-Chinese understanding of how the world should be has evolved: on the basis of non-interference, respect for sovereignty, mutual interests, and the recognition that cooperation between countries is possible regardless of the nature of their government. This basis for cooperation has stood the test of time and many international crises in recent decades, and is taking our relations to an even higher level.

Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
And now, all this being said, we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the bestial elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to their number there at the gates of Hell and their doom. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In Donbass and beyond and in due course across the world.
Victory belongs to Russia: It is now only a matter of time.

We are in a 'Phony War', that period when war is being waged but its effects have not yet hit home. Our politicians appear intent on bringing those effects to us. Yet silence largely prevails. Why?
There was a time not so very long ago when the threat of nuclear war motivated a great many people to get out onto the streets and tell their governments in no uncertain terms that they should act to prevent it.
Now… **crickets**.
The current situation of virtual international silence persists while the juggernaut toward war seems only ever to be provided with engine upgrades rather than brakes by our politicians. Every indication is that they perceive some great benefit to themselves in the pursuit of war rather than engaging in actions that might bring peace. Do they have a death wish that recklessly encompasses the rest of us?
You may have noticed that diplomacy these days is notable by its absence. It has been converted to a means to engage in trickery rather than evidence sincerity, simply another way to wage war and burn bridges rather than looking to find peace by building them. Yet few of us seem to be concerned by any of this. It’s just a case of business as usual, or rather perhaps simply doing the usual mundane day to day without looking up from the virtually endless toil of surviving modern life.
We will surely look up when the bombs start to come down. Far too late then of course.
Are we so disgusted with politicians of all sides that we have sunk into fatalistic apathy on this point. Do we have a permanent Que Sera, Sera attitude to just about everything outside our own limited sphere of influence now?
Perhaps take a look at that foreign land they call the past sometime where minds were not as dulled or as lazy, where there was a communal desire to survive and determination to get together in solidarity to protest the insanity being demonstrated by our leaders? Discover what has been largely lost in the western world, the desire to act together in unity when we are in mortal danger from the stupidity and recklessness of our leaders.
Have we all been sold on the selfishness and self-interest of competing rather than cooperating? Have the last few decades of rampant, materialist consumerism made us all self-isolating to the degree that we trust no one but our direct family any more. Is that it?
Whatever lies behind the apparent slothful unwillingness to stand up and be counted and take a stand for everyone against the oncoming war the resemblance to lemmings heading blindly to the cliff edge is striking.
What good will all our shiny assets of car, home and all else do for us when the mushroom clouds rise balefully on the horizon and the deadly wind from their almighty blasts comes soon after? No God above will help us then. There will be no helpline waiting on our call for rescue. We will be wiped from this earth along with all we love and hold dear. You and your neighbours that you never got to know. All gone in a matter of seconds.
Might it not be a good idea to protest this oncoming reality? Perhaps give up the balm of the mindless drivel on your television set for a while and get to work with others to raise some noise? Or is life too short to worry about mass death and destruction of all we know and risk being distracted from those things you consider to be so much more important?
It’s up to us. Wait for the oncoming war, hoping for the best. Or get up from our cocoon-like TV nests and do something about stopping it?
