“Ukraine. What is the truth...?
Why won’t western media tell both sides…?”
VIRTUALLY UNREPORTED ATROCITY IN LUGANSK, 2nd JUNE 2014
A lot has been said about atrocities in the western media claimed to have been perpetrated by the Russians, for example at Bucha and Mariupol among others. These assertions are conveyed on the say so of the Ukrainian authorities. How willing though are western news broadcasters to convey atrocities attributed to the Ukrainians? The following will I think provide the answer.
If anyone wonders if they are receiving accurate coverage of the conflict in Ukraine I would suggest watching the video below of an event which occurred on the 2nd of June 2014 and ask themselves if they recall hearing about it on any mainstream media news channel at the time.
The video is harrowing to watch. The bodies (five women and three men) are real. Yet across western media there was only one single news report that occurred a day later. This was from CNN and occurred only because a CNN team happened to be nearby at the time of the atrocity and so the network could hardly ignore it as all others so obviously did.
The video below shows the unvarnished truth that was not considered newsworthy in western mainstream news.
THE SINGLE WESTERN MSM REPORT ON THE LUGANSK ATROCITY, 3rd JUNE 2014
The video at the CNN link below is the crime scene sanitised by CNN, though played straight with honest reporting on the scene not playing things to Kiev’s tune.
(There was a time early in the war in the Donbass when CNN were not afraid to contradict the Ukrainian regime in Kiev.) Watch, because it's the first and last time you will see this.

Ukrainians urged to slash energy consumption.
Electricity usage has increased by 13% as the country enters a period of extreme cold, the national grid operator has said.
Ukrainian authorities have asked citizens to conserve energy, warning that a surge in consumption during a spell of bad weather is putting too much strain on the national power grid. The country’s power infrastructure has been shattered by Russian airstrikes in retaliation for a “terrorist attack” on the strategic Crimean Bridge in 2022.
The appeal was made on Monday by Ukrenergo, the country’s national energy operator. It reported an increase in consumption, noting that the energy used at lunchtime on January 8 had exceeded the previous working day’s figures by more than 13%.
According to the operator, the surge was caused not only by the start of the working week but also by low temperatures and a spell of bad weather in the southern regions, which disrupted power supply.
Meanwhile, Ukraine is expected to experience a period of extremely cold weather, with temperatures dropping to as low as -27C (-16F) in some regions. As of Monday, there were more than 157,000 consumers affected by blackouts, according to the Energy Ministry.
“Friends, consumption is growing too much now,” Ukrenergo said. “Please consume electricity conservatively.”
To persuade Ukrainians to comply with the recommendation, it published two pictures of a sad-looking cat – one small one, representing the figures for January 5, and a much chubbier one, representing January 8 – with consumption graphs outlining the pet’s contours.
“It is necessary to help the cat Grafik to maintain his health – to limit his diet,” the operator said, adding that Ukrainians can do this by turning off excess lights, avoiding using powerful home appliances simultaneously, and unplugging their devices once they’re charged.

Ukraine’s power grid is also still suffering from the effects of Russian strikes that started in the fall of 2022. In November 2022, Kiev estimated that the barrages had knocked out about half of the country’s energy infrastructure. In early January 2023, Vladimir Kudritsky, Ukrenergo’s chairman, called the scale of the damage “unprecedented” and predicted that it would take months if not years to repair it.
Ukrainian authorities reported new strikes on the power grid earlier this month, which Russia’s Defense Ministry believes to be crucial for Ukraine’s military capability. The blackouts affected hundreds of thousands of people after Russia vowed to retaliate for Kiev’s attacks on Belgorod and Donetsk, which killed dozens of civilians, including children. Moscow has repeatedly said it carries out strikes only on military facilities and supporting infrastructure.

Russia Strikes Ukrainian Military Facilities With Kinzhal Missiles - MoD.
Russia dramatically ramped up missile strikes targeting Ukraine's energy and military infrastructure in late December, attacking ammunition and fuel depots, airfields, military HQs, and other pertinent targets.
Russia has launched a new round of strikes against Ukrainian military targets, including military production facilities and a decision-making center, using Kinzhal missiles and other precision weapons, the Ministry of Defense has announced.
"This morning, massed strikes were carried out using high-precision, long-range sea and air-based weapons, including the Kinzhal hypersonic missile system, against facilities of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine," the MoD said in a statement Monday afternoon.
The operation included missile, artillery and drone attacks against Ukrainian forces in 108 separate areas and against 113 artillery units and firing positions. They included a strike on a facility known to be used as a meeting place by commanders of Ukraine's 101st Territorial Defense Brigade.
The MoD's report follows reports by Ukrainian media Monday morning of air raid sirens and explosions in Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Khmelnitsky, Krivoy Rog and other cities and regions. Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny confirmed that Russian strikes had hit infrastructure, industrial and military facilities, but did not elaborate on the targets.
Russia dramatically ramped up its strikes against Ukrainian energy infrastructure, military bases, military production facilities, and decision-making centers last month, in the wake of Ukrainian attacks on Russian Black Sea Fleet assets using NATO-provided naval and aerial drones. Kiev responded with terror bombings against cities and settlements in the Donbass and Belgorod, with Moscow firing back with further attacks on targets in Ukrainian rear areas.
Russia first began targeting Ukrainian energy, defense sector, command and communications infrastructure in October 2022 after a Ukrainian attack on the Crimean Bridge, but the military has sought to avoid targeting residential buildings or social infrastructure.

Russia using ‘glide bombs’ to devastate Ukrainian bunkers – NYT
One of Kiev’s troops compared Moscow’s strikes to “the gates of hell”.
The Russian military is increasingly using ‘glide bombs’ to destroy strong Ukrainian fortifications, some of which date back to 2014 when hostilities first erupted in Donbass, the New York Times reported on Monday, citing Kiev’s troops.
Ukrainian frontline soldiers told the newspaper that while they had become accustomed to constant artillery attacks, since the spring they had suffered “the additional devastating power” of glide bombs dropped by Russian warplanes. The weapons, which contain up to half a ton of explosives, are capable of obliterating Ukrainian underground bunkers, they added.
While it is unclear which specific type of bomb was being referring to, in recent weeks the Russian Defense Ministry has reported the deployment of FAB-500 bombs equipped with a gliding and correction module against Ukrainian defenses. Russian military experts and Western media estimate the range of the bombs at about 40km, although the figure may vary.
One Ukrainian soldier compared the glide-bomb strikes to “hell’s gates.” “They would send them two by two by two, eight in an hour… It sounds like a jet coming down on you,” he told the NYT.

‘Plan B’ for Ukraine: Calls for concessions to Russia are growng in both Kiev and the West, but are they realistic?
An increasing number of voices are acknowledging that the conflict won't end on Vladimir Zelensky's terms.
We are hearing more and more suggestions that Kiev should get ready for a compromise peace. In particular, there are mountings calls to cede territory to Russia.
Two things have changed in both the West and Ukraine: First, there are now growing demands for a “plan B,” as the former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko calls it, and, more importantly, the taboo on talking about this need is gone.
Given Ukraine’s difficult and dangerous – not to mention that things could quickly get much worse – military, financial, and political situation, these calls are no surprise. The real question is not why this is happening, but what it may mean for the future: Do these calls signal a real readiness to make peace? And if so on what terms? And is it a realistic prospect?
Let’s start with a voice from the West: James Stavridis – a retired American admiral, former military head of NATO, and dean emeritus of the prestigious US Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy – has used his perch as a Bloomberg columnist to ask how the war will end. He finds that Ukraine is unlikely to retake what has been lost to Russia and, in effect, recommends it “consider temporarily or even permanently ceding Crimea and the ‘land bridge’ connecting it to Russia.”
A few months ago, such a statement would have been scandalous; now it’s part of the new normal. Despite the fact that it directly contradicts Ukraine’s official war aims, namely, to make no territorial concessions at all. And note that such a scenario is what Stavridis pitches as the desirable outcome of continuing Western support: This is a former NATO commander telling the West that the new best-case result is a compromise peace that Kiev officially abhors.
What do we hear from Ukraine? The single most resonant statement there has come from Timoshenko. Once a cunning and energetic top player in Kiev politics and still leader of her own ‘Batkivshchyna’ party, she has clearly not given up trying for a comeback: Recently, she made headlines by resisting a new mobilization law and launching an offensive against LGBTQ politics. The two issues have little in common except they both show her angling for popular appeal: On the mobilization law she poses as the defender of the next cohort of young recruits to go into the meatgrinder (she suggests sending police and other “siloviki [security professionals]” instead…); and regarding LGBTQ, she presents herself as upholding traditional values.
Timoshenko’s most provocative sally, however, was to call on President Vladimir Zelensky to “show his leadership” by presenting a “plan B” for the war. One that would entail an “exit from the current difficult, quite tragic situation.” Affirming her commitment to victory and “territorial integrity,” she nonetheless insists that a “head-on” approach is no longer viable because Ukraine cannot sustain a long war in this manner.
And then there is Aleksey Arestovich. A former adviser to Zelensky and top promoter of war against Moscow, when it could still have been avoided, he has recently made a splash by suggesting that Ukraine and Russia should make peace and then unite against the West. That would be yet another way of ending the war, if it were realistic.
But what about the conditions that Stavridis, Timoshenko, and Arestovich foresee?
The former NATO commander is an example of how even those in the West who have rediscovered some realism, still suffer from wishful thinking as well. Stavridis’ scenario for ending the fighting involves not only Ukraine ceding territory to Russia, but also Moscow acquiescing in Kiev acceding to EU and NATO membership. If he is serious about this, then he is outlining what is a perfect non-starter for Russia. As its President Vladimir Putin has just reiterated, Moscow’s war aims still include Ukraine’s neutrality.
Timoshenko’s ideas don't look much more hopeful. She may have only one real aim: to embarrass Zelensky and his “leadership.” Her “plan B” is still a plan “of victory,” and her rhetoric has remained generally strident: In a recent op-ed, she insists that Ukraine has “already won” multiple battles, such as being acknowledged as part of “the West” (good luck with that…), achieving domestic unity, and dismantling Russian influence. And yet, she is a wily operator: Could her list of victories already claimed also be read as signaling that, perhaps, for now at least, more may not be needed?
Arestovich, meanwhile, has been challenged by Evgeny Kiselyov – a Russian journalist now in exile in Ukraine – who essentially took the former Zelensky adviser to task for no longer being reliably anti-Russian. Arestovich, in response, now claims that he was just trying to “frighten the West” and that he is earnestly looking for a way to avoid years of future war in Europe (and beyond), especially with Ukraine as a battleground. He has come to feel that a grand settlement between major powers is the only way out.
Which one is the real Arestovich: the one calling for an anti-Western alliance with Russia, the one who says (on a YouTube channel that he seems to assume no one in the West will ever hear about) that that was merely a bluff to cajole the West, or the one who hovers high above such tactical plays to ponder the very big picture, namely, how to secure global peace?
And yet, here as well, things may be more complicated: In the same interview and following the recent revelations of former Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandr Chaly, Arestovich also spends much time on the great missed opportunity of the Istanbul talks in spring 2022, confirming that Moscow then offered very advantageous conditions to Kiev and that peace was almost made. A “parade of unexpected generosities” from Russia he now calls what was on the table then.
Before Istanbul, Arestovich was also involved with the Minsk Agreements. Between the spring of 2015 and early 2022, Minsk II in particular, endorsed by the UN, could have served as a basis for a peaceful resolution of the then comparatively small-scale conflict. Yet neither the Ukrainian leadership nor its Western sponsors were interested in making the deal work, as Ukrainian politicians boasted at the time (usually on Ukrainian media) and Western leaders admitted in retrospect. It is no surprise to find Arestovich deriding the Minsk Agreements as a “trap” and a “dead end.” Yet while that merely confirms the Ukrainian obstructionism we already knew about, it is still interesting to note that, for him, Kiev got much better out of the Istanbul talks.
It would be naive to simply believe Arestovich. He, too, like Timoshenko, is a wily and ruthless operator out for more, including, as odd as it may sound, the Ukrainian presidency. At the moment, he is interested in weakening his former boss Zelensky as much as he can. Deepening the impression that the latter missed an excellent opportunity to make peace for Ukraine early on in the large-scale war makes sense for Arestovich. Yet even if Zelensky’s former adviser is biased by his own ambitions, in this case, his story is true. By now we have multiple mutually corroborating accounts pointing in the same direction.
In that sense, Arestovich’s new statements about Istanbul 2022 can be read as implying future possibilities as well: If peace was so close once, it cannot be entirely impossible now. Yet the former presidential adviser also warns – realistically – that terms as good as were available then to Kiev are not likely to return. Indeed, he confesses his pessimism as to finding an end to the war soon.
The “Plan B” team is daring to join the debate, albeit cautiously. That’s good news. But a closer look is disappointing. We find few serious, concrete, and explicit suggestions as to how to make peace. Stavridis, who has the freedom to be the most outspoken, combines his realistic call for territorial concessions by Kiev with NATO membership for Ukraine, an idea that he must know will never fly in Moscow. Timoshenko and Arestovich remain ambiguous, even self-contradictory. And none makes a genuine effort to think through what Stavridis – in his most insightful aside – at least mentions: that any plans will depend on Russia agreeing.

VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
And now, all this being said, we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the bestial elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to their number there at the gates of Hell and their doom. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In Donbass and beyond and in due course across the world.
Victory belongs to Russia: It is now only a matter of time.

IT’S THE END OF THE WESTERN POLITICAL & MEDIA WORLD AS WE KNOW IT
Momentous change across the West is coming with the fall of the Zelensky regime. The facts, steadily revealed, will reveal in their turn, the matrix of lies told by western political & media elites.
‘How the mighty are fallen.’
Well, they are not quite mighty and they are not yet quite fallen. But be patient a while…
You will have noticed that Boris, who convinced Zelensky not to accept the peace offered by Russia in March 2022, has fallen. Biden, has long since fallen from grace with the U.S. populace. Even Zelensky too, that Churchillian figure, or so we were led to believe, has hardly a shred of the esteem he once enjoyed.
And Ukraine, the state that was presumed by the western world to be pure, docile and total innocent, is shrinking and falling in popularity as its crimes become known and their cost to westerners become a public scandal.
In November Biden will fall from view never to be seen again. Only his eventual death will raise a blip of interest before his memory as worst president ever, in competition with George W. Bush is banished to the trashcan of history.
Scholz of Germany is clearly on his way out as is Macron of France. Meloni, that political fraudster cannot be long for the political world either.
All of the above will fall victim to ‘The Zelensky Curse’. Delivered to political purgatory, then hell. Lost causes brought down by the Ukrainian lost cause. Political suicides who assisted in the death of half a million Ukrainians, those who continue to plunge the Hari-Kiri sword of self-mutilation into themselves as they have not the courage to reverse their misbegotten policy of support for the devils of Ukraine.
This year will see the end of all those who sought war rather than peace when it was offered. Their electorates, who they abused with incessant lies about Russia and about Ukraine will turn on them and force them from office. They will fall, one after another into the void of the politically mistaken, led like sheep to a reputational abattoir by the latest in a long line of North American tyrants.
Then we come to the media. Succeeding years will see the final collapse and fall of many major western newspaper titles, those who published the same fabrications and misinformation, propaganda and material designed to mislead as western politicians spouted. Waterfalls of lies aimed at duping western populations about the character of Vladimir Putin, about Russia and the conflict in Ukraine, those titles that refused to reveal the true evil that emanated from western Ukraine from 2014 to the present day. The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian and many more. Their lies revealed they will lose all of the meagre credibility they have held till now as those seeking the facts on geopolitical matters seek far better sources.
So it will be also in regard to televisual news media. CNN, MSNBC, BBC, all united in their lies about Putin, Russia and Ukraine. Viewership of these lie factories will plummet as they are abandoned for far more objective sources unafraid to reveal the uncomfortable facts that legacy media kept hidden since the Maidan coup of 2014.
The entire gamut of so-called ‘Western News’ and political life will be transformed. Many will be raised up on platforms of good sense and straight-talking. Commentators who provided the best and truest insights into the Russians and Ukrainians and the conflict between them will have their reputations further enhanced as it ends and ends as they have long predicted. Victor Orban, Robert Fico, Scott Ritter, Jeffrey Sachs, Colonel Douglas Macgregor, Daniel Davis, Ray McGovern, Larry Johnson, Alastair Crooke, Brian Berletic, Alexander Mercouris, Alex Christoforou, Danny Haiphong, George Galloway and many more.
As for the lying hordes who tried in every possible way to deceive the entire world into assisting the Nazi-minded minority of Ukraine and who fabricated every possible slander against those who fought them… they will see their legacy burned in a fire of contempt, their metaphorical ashes allowed to fall ignominiously into the black hole of utter contempt.
Watch this year as the supposedly mighty fall, one after the other, as Ukraine falls… all disappearing completely from view.
