Lavrov slams ‘fantasies’ about Western troops in Ukraine.
Such speculation will “only make the situation worse,” Russia’s foreign minister has warned.
The ongoing speculation about the potential deployment of troops to Ukraine by Western nations are “fantasies” that “only make the situation worse,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.
The top diplomat delivered the remarks on Thursday during a press conference of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) ministerial meeting in Malta.
“I believe that all these fantasies only make the situation worse and show that the people who are running around with such ideas stubbornly prefer not to hear the very clear warnings that [Russian] President [Vladimir] Putin has repeatedly made publicly,” Lavrov stated.
The remarks come amid a string of media reports that suggested France and the UK have been considering deploying their troops to Ukraine. The force is reportedly supposed to act as peacekeepers to observe a ceasefire in the event of Moscow and Kiev engaging in talks. The topic has been also invoked by the German leadership, yet Chancellor Olaf Scholz has said the deployment of the country’s troops to Ukraine was “out of the question” before a “real ceasefire” was achieved.

Lavrov also reiterated that Moscow welcomes any constructive initiatives to bring the Ukraine conflict to an end. However, Russia does not believe any Western-based organizations will be of any help, and is seeking to strengthen security for everyone in “our whole continent” of Eurasia, he said.
“All those initiatives floated by our partners on different continents, which are aimed at finding a political solution, they, of course, must take into account the issue of ensuring the security interests of each country and, of course, the issue of respecting human rights,” the top diplomat stressed.
Relations between Russia and the collective West have changed and will not return to the situation prior to the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in early 2022, Lavrov warned.
“All the previous years after the end of the Cold War, the West agreed on some right things, rhetorically praised these right things, but in reality grossly violated all the agreements and did everything to suppress the legitimate interests of Russia,” Lavrov said.

US Wants to Return NATO on Political Scene by Escalating Cold War With Russia - Lavrov.
The United States wants to bring NATO back to the political scene by escalating the Cold War with Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday.
The US and its allies have thrown away all arms control agreements concluded in the 1980s, the minister said during his address at the plenary session of the OSCE foreign ministers' meeting.
"The question is why? The answer is obvious to us — to please the desire to return NATO to the political scene. After the Afghan disgrace, a new unifying enemy was needed. The result is a reincarnation of the Cold War, only now with a much greater risk of it going into a hot phase," Lavrov said.

Russia-North Korea Strategic Agreement Enters Into Force - Report.
Deputy Foreign Minister of the DPRK, Kim Jong Gyu, and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Andrey Rudenko, signed the protocol on the exchange of ratification instruments.
The treaty takes effect from December 4, 2024, when the ratification instruments were exchanged according to Article 22 of the treaty, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
“The strong DPRK-Russia relations, based on the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership, will be a powerful security mechanism that promotes the well-being of the peoples of the two countries, eases the regional situation, guarantees international strategic stability, and will serve as a strong driving force accelerating the establishment of an independent and just multipolar world order without domination, subjugation, and hegemony,” KCNA said.
During the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Pyongyang on June 18-19, Russia and the DPRK signed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty, the fourth article of which states: "If one of the Parties is subjected to an armed attack by any state or several states and thus finds itself in a state of war, the other Party will immediately provide military and other assistance by all means at its disposal."

Details of Russia-North Korea ‘indefinite’ security agreement revealed.
The treaty outlines measures relating to mutual military assistance and deepened cooperation across various sectors.

The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russia and North Korea, signed by President Vladimir Putin and his counterpart Kim Jong-un in June, officially came into force on Wednesday following the exchange of ratification documents in Moscow. The treaty, which is “indefinite,” outlines extensive commitments, including mutual military assistance and deepened cooperation across various sectors.
The agreement obliges both nations to provide military aid if either is attacked, and contains provisions for consultation in the event of a threat of armed aggression. Additionally, both parties commit to not allowing third countries to use their territories to undermine each other’s sovereignty or security.
Key points of the agreement
Mutual defense: Immediate military and other assistance will be provided if either country is attacked, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
Security consultations: Joint measures will be discussed in response to threats of armed aggression.
No third-party agreements: Both nations agree not to allow third countries to use their territories against one another.
Opposition to sanctions: Russia and North Korea will not support unilateral sanctions imposed by third countries on either party.
Strategic goals: Both nations aim to build a multipolar international system and strengthen regional stability.
Economic cooperation: Joint support for special economic zones, as well as food and energy security initiatives.
Science and technology: Expanded collaboration in space exploration, peaceful nuclear energy, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology.
Defense mechanisms: Creation of joint initiatives to strengthen military capabilities and prevent war.
The treaty replaces a prior agreement signed in 2000, and Russian media report that it underscores both countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral ties amid heightened tensions with the West.
Broader context
North Korea will stand with Russia – Kim Jong Un
The treaty’s ratification comes as the West continues to claim that North Korean military personnel are aiding Russia in the Ukraine conflict, though both Moscow and Pyongyang deny any official deployment, and no evidence has been provided to back up the assertions. Meanwhile, South Korea and the US have raised concerns over potential Russian military technology transfers to North Korea.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has described the agreement as a stabilizing force for northeast Asia, contributing to a “just, multipolar world order.” However, some Western analysts suggest the pact could alarm China. At the same time, Russian experts largely indicate that Beijing must have given some form of blessing to the arrangement.
The agreement is designed to last indefinitely, with termination requiring one year’s notice from either party. It signals a significant shift in Russia-North Korea relations, with both countries seeking closer cooperation in the face of international isolation and sanctions.

VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
And now, all this being said, we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the bestial elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to their number there at the gates of Hell and their doom. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In Donbass and beyond and in due course across the world.
Victory belongs to Russia: It is now only a matter of time.
