VIRTUALLY UNREPORTED ATROCITY IN LUGANSK, 2nd JUNE 2014
A lot has been said about atrocities in the western media claimed to have been perpetrated by the Russians, for example at Bucha and Mariupol among others. These assertions are conveyed on the say so of the Ukrainian authorities. How willing though are western news broadcasters to convey atrocities attributed to the Ukrainians? The following will I think provide the answer.
If anyone wonders if they are receiving accurate coverage of the conflict in Ukraine I would suggest watching the video below of an event which occurred on the 2nd of June 2014 and ask themselves if they recall hearing about it on any mainstream media news channel at the time.
The video is harrowing to watch. The bodies (five women and three men) are real. Yet across western media there was only one single news report that occurred a day later. This was from CNN and occurred only because a CNN team happened to be nearby at the time of the atrocity and so the network could hardly ignore it as all others so obviously did.
The video below shows the unvarnished truth that was not considered newsworthy in western mainstream news.
THE SINGLE WESTERN MSM REPORT ON THE LUGANSK ATROCITY, 3rd JUNE 2014
The video at the CNN link below is the crime scene sanitised by CNN, though played straight with honest reporting on the scene not playing things to Kiev’s tune.
(There was a time early in the war in the Donbass when CNN were not afraid to contradict the Ukrainian regime in Kiev.) Watch because it's the first and last time you will see this.
5 women and 3 men died, all civilians.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
PROFESSOR JOHN J MEARSHEIMER:
Why is Ukraine the West's Fault?
Article published by Russia Today (RT) - 24th March 2023:
Fyodor Lukyanov: Here's the real reason why Russia and China want to replace the US-led international order.
The two powers share the same goal, but circumstance dictates they have to take different roads to make it happen.
Russia and China don’t fit into the international system built under Western auspices after the Cold War. They are therefore in favor of replacing it. And it is easier to change it together.
“We hope the world will become a better place, and we have reason to believe it will. At the same time, we are well aware that the future is bright, but the road there is winding.”
This statement by Xi Jinping, which echoes a similar argument made by Mao Zedong in the 1940s, is exactly ten years old. The recently elected President of China was paying his first official visit to Moscow, during which he gave a lecture at MGIMO University.
A decade later, Xi returned to Russia this week at the start of his third term at the helm, and you could say he was right on the money then. The past few years have been full of twists and turns, and the world is about to take perhaps one of its sharpest in more than half a century. Meantime, the rhetoric of the Chinese leadership has changed little.
It is a peculiarity of our giant neighbor’s political culture that the language is always extremely polished, so that no one can pick at it. Only subtle connoisseurs can pick up on nuances that serve as indicators of changes in the political line. And even then, it is mostly related to China's internal development. The message conveyed to the outside world hardly fluctuates at all. Of course, this does not mean that the actual course is not changing.
What has happened in the ten years since that visit, which was also very significant and meaningful? In China, Xi's reign has been a time of rethinking the trajectory of development. The golden era of globalization, from which Beijing benefited enormously, essentially ended with the 2008 crisis. It then became clear that the global system was beginning to experience serious disruptions, the management of which would be the main task of every major player.
For their own benefit and at the expense of others, the Chinese coped with the recession faster and easier than others and strengthened their position. And the old model, in which the US was comfortable and even encouraged by China's growth and benefited from it, has become no longer in America's interest. Beijing began to be perceived as the main competitor capable of challenging the world hegemon. And there has been only one conclusion to be drawn - containment on all fronts.
In addition to changing external circumstances, Xi's own outlook has played a role. He is more oriented than his predecessors to China's own experience, from classical philosophy to the various stages of socialist construction. The fusion of ancient tradition with influences from the modern People's Republic of China already creates a distinctive construction that cannot be suspected of being a transition to a Western-style system (in an earlier period of reform, such expectations existed amongst the US and its allies).
Xi's decade was marked by a rapid escalation of all the world's contradictions. The CCP's plan was initially to strengthen China in order to secure its development and, as far as possible, avoid getting involved in conflicts. Capacity-building also entails an increase in self-confidence. And the provocative actions of external powers, which have their own ways of responding to the same unsettling circumstances, have forced Beijing to respond.
China, battered by the coronavirus pandemic, has approached the Ukrainian crisis with the understanding that an era of calm is over. And further success is possible not by avoiding international conflicts, as Beijing used to prefer, but by engaging in them in a meaningful way. Moreover, in terms of its accumulated capabilities, China is better prepared for times of turmoil than many others. This does not remove the risks, and it does not eliminate them.
In Russia, the last ten years have been a period of no small reversal. The logic is partly similar, although the circumstances are of course very different. For China, however, the late 20th and early 21st century was a period of unprecedented growth by any measure, while for Russia it was a period of deep decline and difficult recovery. Nevertheless, Russia also faced the exhaustion of its previous development model. Since the late 1980s, the focus has been on integration into the international system dominated by the West. Russia has made progress along this path (though not to the same extent as China). In the late 2000s and especially in the early 2010s, however, its limitations became apparent.
Firstly, economic: the external actors were naturally not interested in seeing Russia rise above a certain level, and there was a lack of will on their part to ensure that this barrier could be overcome independently.
Second, the geopolitical conflict began to escalate rapidly. Russia had reached a ceiling here, too. Its partners did not want to help it any further, and it proved impossible to reach the next floor on its own, while maintaining the basic parameters of the previous course. All the more so because Moscow, like Beijing, felt that the very system into which it had been asked to integrate in previous decades was beginning to change.
The above is, of course, a rough sketch that leaves out a lot of nuance. But it allows us to understand why the current rapprochement between Moscow and Beijing, apart from various opportunistic bases, has a fairly solid foundation. Our countries, each for its own reasons, do not and will not fit into the international system built under the auspices of the West after the Cold War. That is why they are in favor of replacing it, and it is easier to change it together.
The Chinese are meticulous with their wording, polishing it to a dazzling shine that leaves no room for superfluous thoughts. And they have always been careful to avoid the terms "alliance" or "union" because they imply something binding, which is not their approach at all.
After his talks with Putin, Xi said: "Sino-Russian relations have gone beyond bilateral relations and are of vital importance to the modern world order and the destiny of mankind.”
In other words, he sees them as ties that constitute a holistic phenomenon and, as such, serve as a factor in world order. This is the closest the Chinese leader has come to describing alliance-type relations. A qualitative shift.

SUPPORTING SCOTT RITTER
I've been listening to Scott Ritter describe how things are for him and I suspect have been for him for quite some time now.
He has been doing a LOT of unpaid work with a great many interview requests coming in that he has been ready and willing to agree to. But the work where receives some pay for have suffered due to this, being left until the wee small hours of the night to complete work on.
Scott, I think you will agree, has been one of the most influential voices out there on Russia and Ukraine.
I was moved by Scott's words to take an annual subscription to his Substack account that he runs in coordination with his colleague on 'U.S. Tour of Duty', Jeff Norman. This is the main way that Scott recommends to help him with finances with which to upgrade his delivery of comment on Russia and Ukraine, via a better microphone etc. and perhaps the creation of a recording studio in his basement to create a more professional and impressive look. To invest in these things he would like to be sure that this has a viable financial future.
Would you also like to help by subscribing at one of the various levels to Scott's Substack account? I hope so. If so the link is here:
Below you'll find the edited part of the video where Scott talks of his commitments to get the facts out on events in Ukraine and of the finances that would come in handy to enhance their delivery:

VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
And now, all this being said, we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the bestial elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to their number there at the gates of Hell and their doom. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In Donbass and beyond and in due course across the world.
Victory belongs to Russia: It is now only a matter of time.

WHY THE WEST CANNOT BE THE SOLE GOVERNOR OF HUMANITY'S DESTINY
The power and therefore influence of the West and its elites has become institutionalised. Successive ranks of these elite individuals have taken this and the precepts that go with it as a given. After so many generations their status has been taken for granted, at least by them. The power they have wielded decade after decade is not a matter of debate or question, it is an obvious fact. Alongside the evidence of the wielding of this power come the mythologies which justify it, or are seen to by those who wield the power and hand it on to subsequent generations of officials.
That the origins of this unquestioned power are questionable does not trouble the western elite mind. That they sprang from such dubious roots as privilege, slavery, occupation, colonialism, violence and oppression is not a subject for discussion n polite, or indeed in any, company. The power became theirs to wield as they saw fit and the mythologies of their goodness, civilised values, probity and good judgement overlaid all else. This position of benevolent dominance is held as a sacrosanct principle from which all else flows.
Western elites conceive that they are incapable of selfish or harmful intent. They consider their motives and actions to be self-evidently correct and above reproach and can see no earthly reason why this should be questioned. Even when hundreds of thousands die based on flawed intelligence and exaggerated claims made by their most prominent leaders they conceive of no requirement to atone or be subject to judgement. All was done with the very best of intentions even if some mistakes were made, mistakes which do not require fundamental changes in approach to either thinking, analysis or action.
The view from the upper echelons of western power is that the entire world is their domain to do with as they see fit, justified by the fact that they are the just, the righteous, the civilised, democratic, freedom-loving judges and arbiters of all that is good and appropriate and all that is bad and requiring elimination. This group-thought view is vital to hold the matrix of western power intact and any weakening of it among the rank and file members of its officialdom is seen as tantamount to treason. No quarter is given to any member questioning this status or impugning its right to exist in perpetuity.
Given all of the above we can see how those nations who do now kowtow to the power invested in the serried ranks of western elite officialdom would become objects of western anxiety and potential targets for West-generated change. We can see also how the protests arising from such nations regarding western influence/interference in their affairs would be dismissed. When an elite considers it has universal right on its side and believes invested in it are the inalienable rights of all populations everywhere then we can see that only submission to these facts will serve. All resistance to the required submission to the western righteous in such cases will be ignored as distractions.
But we are now on the cusp of momentous changes which will sweep away all such beliefs and considerations held for so many generations by western elites. And those elites are well aware of this fact and are now fighting a rearguard action to stave off the day when almost all their influence has gone. The rise of powers which the West was formally able to contain, manipulate and dominate is progressively upsetting the status quo that has been for so long beneficial to the West and which western elites have sought to portray as essential and beneficial. This threatens the entire structure of western power and the national interests of every nation allied to the West.
China is the main nation rising to challenge the power of the West. Russia also is providing the second bulwark that is inhibiting the reinforcement, increase and perpetual nature of the West's status as ultimate arbiter of right and wrong. This has never happened before to the western world, so long the proven major world power capable of exerting its influence worldwide and according to those within it, to the benefit of all. This situation is considered to be an absolutely existential threat to "good order" as seen by these elites, a threat so great that 'western liberal values' and a 'rules-based international order' could be erased and replaced. That the rising powers could bring benefits to the world cannot be contemplated or even admitted as a possibility.
Only by continuing to rise can the alternate geopolitical paradigm be assessed in terms of benefits and drawbacks, however, to the elites of the western world the possibility of positive outcomes is anathema. Just as questioning the sacrosanct goodness of the West is outlawed so too is consideration of the potential benefits arising from an alternate form of global influence. But this attitude cannot win out in the long-term as the power of the Eurasian nations rises inexorably to a point where certain realities demand to be confronted.
Russia, in its demand to have its national security requirements acknowledged, has been confronted with the western elite belief system that only its requirements and its alone have any validity. China too is confronted with the selfsame attitude from western elites determined to be proactive in making changes within any and all spheres of influence worldwide. Western elites are being confronted with the fact however that their vision of the world which they believe they have a duty to enforce on all centres of power is unsustainable in the context of the rising national powers of China and Russia.
The old unquestioned superiority held by all western elites is being challenged as never before. Yet they continue to assert their right to wield their waning power, to judge others and punish them when they contravene the precepts held as sacrosanct by themselves and their allies. They find this intolerable and this is why we have arrived at the most dangerous moments for the developed world since the height of the Cold War, arguably since the conclusion of World War II. The danger will only be over once one side or the other achieves victory.
This is why we can see that World War III has been in progress for at least a decade and a half when it became clear to western elites that their time as patrician shepherds of the world was ending. The facade of that power will be maintained to the last and will only fall when the reality of Eurasian power (primarily exhibited by China and Russia) becomes too great to ignore. At that point a significant and obvious change of tone will emerge where the rising powers begin to gain respect, their views on their national sovereignty heard and acted upon and a level of mutually beneficial dialogue and agreement is finally reached.
The elites of the western world will continue to maintain their facade of total righteousness, goodness and beneficial dominance right to the bitter end. Only after fully disabusing them of the group-thought concepts holding their matrix of obedience and myopic view of themselves and their "rights" will they begin to acknowledge that they are not the sole governors of humanity's global destiny.
