“Ukraine. What is the truth...?
Why won’t western media tell both sides…?”
VIRTUALLY UNREPORTED ATROCITY IN LUGANSK, 2nd JUNE 2014
A lot has been said about atrocities in the western media claimed to have been perpetrated by the Russians, for example at Bucha and Mariupol among others. These assertions are conveyed on the say so of the Ukrainian authorities. How willing though are western news broadcasters to convey atrocities attributed to the Ukrainians? The following will I think provide the answer.
If anyone wonders if they are receiving accurate coverage of the conflict in Ukraine I would suggest watching the video below of an event which occurred on the 2nd of June 2014 and ask themselves if they recall hearing about it on any mainstream media news channel at the time.
The video is harrowing to watch. The bodies (five women and three men) are real. Yet across western media there was only one single news report that occurred a day later. This was from CNN and occurred only because a CNN team happened to be nearby at the time of the atrocity and so the network could hardly ignore it as all others so obviously did.
The video below shows the unvarnished truth that was not considered newsworthy in western mainstream news.
THE SINGLE WESTERN MSM REPORT ON THE LUGANSK ATROCITY, 3rd JUNE 2014
The video at the CNN link below is the crime scene sanitised by CNN, though played straight with honest reporting on the scene not playing things to Kiev’s tune.
(There was a time early in the war in the Donbass when CNN were not afraid to contradict the Ukrainian regime in Kiev.) Watch, because it's the first and last time you will see this.

Ukraine Using Blocking Units After Deploying ‘Too Many Untrained Soldiers to Frontlines’.
Russian troops have provided Sputnik with footage of fighters from a Ukrainian blocking detachment shooting their own comrades in the back during a Russian advance. Sputnik asked former CIA analyst Larry Johnson why Ukraine’s military might be resorting to such a desperate tactic.
In the Western popular imagination, blocking units, also known as ‘blocking detachments’ or ‘anti-retreat forces’, are probably best remembered from their use in the 2001 Hollywood film ‘Enemy at the Gates’, which depicted untrained, unarmed Red Army soldiers being forced to run toward fortified Nazi German positions in Stalingrad, and getting mowed down ruthlessly by NKVD officers after trying to retreat back to their own lines.
The fictional portrayal of such unimaginable cruelty by the army which played the decisive role in liberating Europe from the Nazis was intensely criticized by Russians, and slammed by veterans and others as an unabashed piece of Hollywood propaganda which ‘spit into vets’ souls’.
Twenty years after the film's release, after the Donbass crisis deteriorated into a full-scale NATO-Russia proxy war in Ukraine, Russian media began accusing Ukrainian military of using blocking units in real life to ‘motivate’ troops not to retreat, and collecting evidence, including PoW testimony and video, to prove it.
Drone footage published by Sputnik on Sunday showed Ukrainian forces using a blocking detachment to prevent mobilized troops from retreating during a Russian assault. The footage, provided to the news agency by a source familiar with the situation, showed Russian forces assaulting a Ukrainian stronghold, entering a trench, after which Ukrainian soldiers could be seen running out the other side toward positions in the rear, only to be shot at and have grenades thrown at them by their own comrades.
The makeup and allegiance of the blocking unit troops remains unclear. It’s unknown whether they were ordinary conscripts, officers, foreign mercenaries or members of Ukraine’s notorious neo-Nazi nationalist battalions – who have been known to man blocking detachment posts in the rear in the past, as per the testimony of captured PoWs.
Whatever the case may be, the use of blocking units is “one more example or symptom of the desperate situation that confronts Ukraine” on the battlefield, says former CIA analyst Larry Johnson.
“They have deployed too many untrained soldiers to the frontlines who have no experience or ability to engage in combat operations. This move to create such blocking forces is reminiscent of stories told about political commissars during the Great Patriotic War,” Johnson told Sputnik.
“At this point, I do not know how widespread this phenomenon is. Is this happening in just an isolated area or is it taking place across the entire front? If it is the latter, then Ukraine is [not] going to be able to field an effective army for much longer,” the observer added.
President Zelensky tightened up the provisions of Ukraine’s martial law and general mobilization measures in November, and revealed last month that the military is planning to draft an additional 450,000-500,000 people into the military as the meat grinder conflict against Russia shows no signs of deescalating. A Ukrainian general publicly questioned whether such ambitious call-up plans were feasible. Meanwhile, the chief of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council said mobilizing that many troops could take at least a year to achieve.

Russia to ramp up attacks on Ukraine – Putin.
Moscow’s forces only strike military targets, unlike Kiev, which mounts indiscriminate terror attacks on civilians, the president has said.
Ukraine's weekend attack on the Russian city of Belgorod, which has left dozens of civilians dead and injured, was an act of terrorism, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday. Kiev will not be left unpunished when it engages in such activities, he warned.
The president insisted that Moscow will not retaliate in kind with indiscriminate attacks on civilians, but will focus instead on Ukraine’s military sites.
The president made the remarks on New Year’s Day at a military hospital in Moscow, where he met Russian servicemen wounded during the ongoing military operation. One of the servicemen asked Putin about his take on the Ukrainian strike on Belgorod and Moscow’s approach to retaliation; the president squarely described it as a “terrorist act,” which was carried out using indiscriminate weaponry.
“With these weapons they struck right at the center of the city, where people were going out on New Year’s Eve. Just an attack, a targeted strike on the civilian population. Of course, this is a terrorist attack; there is no other way to describe it,” Putin said. Ukraine's efforts at terror are aimed at destabilizing Russia and “intimidating” the country’s population, he explained.
Russia will not retaliate in kind to Kiev’s actions, despite being capable of doing so, Putin stressed. “Of course, we can, we are capable of carpet-bombing Kiev and any other [Ukrainian] city,” the president noted.
Instead, Russia will continue targeting Ukrainian military assets and infrastructure, Putin said, warning that the number of such strikes is bound to grow. The Ukrainian authorities’ terrorist activities will not be left unanswered, he stressed.
Of course, not a single such crime, and this is certainly a crime against the civilian population, will be left unpunished, there can be no doubt about that.
“We are striking with high-precision weapons at the decision-making centers, at locations where military personnel and mercenaries gather, at other nodes of this kind, at military facilities, first of all. And they are quite painful, these strikes. That’s what we’ll continue to do,” Putin stated.

Belgorod, as well as other regions of southwestern Russia, have been subjected to repeated artillery, missile and drone strikes by Ukrainian forces amid the ongoing conflict. The city was subjected to the deadliest attack to date attack on Saturday, when it was struck with missiles fired by multiple rocket launchers.
The munitions damaged a number of public venues and residential buildings. The attack, reportedly ordered personally by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, claimed the lives of at least 24 civilians and left over 100 injured.

Powerful blasts reported in Ukrainian cities.
The strikes targeted defense industry facilities and ammunition depots, Moscow has said.
Powerful explosions rocked several Ukrainian cities on Tuesday morning, according to local officials. The reported strikes came after Russia accused Kiev of carrying out deadly “terrorist attacks” on Donetsk and Belgorod, vowing retaliation.
The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the strikes, saying it had used drones and long-range, high-precision weapons to target Ukrainian defense industry facilities that produce missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and other military equipment.
The attack was also aimed at destroying storage facilities loaded with missiles and various types of ammunition, including those provided by Kiev’s Western backers, officials said, adding that “all targets have been hit.”
Blasts were reported in several districts of Kiev by its mayor, Vitaly Klitschko, in the early hours of Tuesday morning. He said that some facilities and residential buildings had been cut off from power, adding that “in some areas, there is a temporary lack of pressure in the water supply network.”
Ukraine’s Energy Ministry claimed that the strikes had left about 260,000 of the city’s residents without access to electricity.
According to the mayor, there were several fires in Podolsky district in the western part of the Ukrainian capital; one warehouse building was affected. He added that another warehouse was on fire in the northwest of the capital.
Later, Klitschko claimed that 20 people had been injured as a result of a rocket strike in western Solomensky district, and that 19 of them had been hospitalized.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia scrambled nine MiG-31 fighters, which launched a barrage of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. It also warned of “significant activity of enemy tactical aviation” in the waters of the Sea of Azov.
Several videos posted on social media show large fires in the Ukrainian capital, with one clip purporting to show a missile flying over the city.
Ukrainian officials also said that Moscow launched a “massive rocket attack” on Kharkov, which is located near the country’s border with Russia and less than 80 km away from Belgorod. Oleg Sinegubov, the head of the regional administration, claimed that there had been at least six rocket strikes, adding that there have been dozens of casualties.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky claimed that four people died in the strikes and that another 92 were wounded, adding that the country’s emergency services are working to eliminate the fallout from the attack.
Vassily Nebenzia, Moscow’s envoy to the UN, said on Saturday that Kiev often deploys its air defense systems in residential districts in violation of international law, resulting in casualties among civilians.
The attack comes after the Russian Defense Ministry said it had carried out high-precision missile strikes on Sunday, on airports where Ukrainian jets carrying UK-supplied Storm Shadow missiles were based. It claimed that all targets had been hit.
On Saturday, Ukrainian forces launched a powerful missile barrage at the Russian border city of Belgorod, killing 25 people, including five children, and injuring 109. Overnight on December 31-January 1, they also shelled Donetsk, with the strike claiming the lives of four people and wounding another 13.

On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Kiev’s terrorist attacks wouldn’t go unanswered, vowing to ramp up strikes on Ukrainian military infrastructure. He stressed, however, that Moscow had no plans to retaliate in kind by targeting civilians.

Putin outlines objectives for Russia’s BRICS presidency.
Moscow will seek the “harmonious integration” of new members and boost internal cooperation and global outreach, he has said.
Russia has assumed the one-year rotating presidency of BRICS following its groundbreaking expansion in 2023. President Vladimir Putin has vowed that Moscow will do its best to promote cooperation within the economic bloc.
In a statement released by the Kremlin on Monday – the first in 2024 – Putin hailed the expansion of BRICS, calling it “a strong indication of the growing authority of the association and its role in international affairs.”
In August, the bloc, which at the time included Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, agreed to admit Saudi Arabia, Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt, Argentina, and the United Arab Emirates, while leaving the door open to accepting new members. Argentina, however, officially declined the invitation after its newly-elected president, Javier Milei, opposed the move, promising that the country would not “ally with communists” on his watch.
The Russian leader stressed that Moscow’s chairmanship, with the motto ‘Strengthening Multilateralism for Equitable Global Development and Security’, will “focus on positive and constructive cooperation.”
According to Putin, Moscow intends to enhance partnership in politics and security, economic and financial matters, and cultural and humanitarian contacts, while providing “effective responses to the challenges and threats to international and regional security and stability.”
“Our priorities include promoting cooperation in science, high technology, healthcare, environmental protection, culture, sports, youth exchanges, and civil society,” he added.
Commenting on the recent additions to BRICS, Putin also said that Moscow plans to “facilitate the harmonious integration” of new participants in all spheres, noting that around 30 countries have expressed a desire to join the bloc’s agenda in one form or another. “To this end, we will start working on the modalities of a new category of BRICS partner country.”
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has said that BRICS plans to agree on a list of partner countries before the group's summit, which is scheduled for October 2024 in Kazan, adding that some Latin American countries could receive this status.
Originally formed in 2009, BRICS presents itself as an alternative to Western-dominated international institutions. According to the IMF, the expanded BRICS now accounts for 36% of global GDP in terms of purchasing power parity, surpassing that of the G7, an informal grouping of Western countries.

Will Russia Capture The Donbass in 2024?
Ukraine SITREP D677.
VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
We have now arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden, frozen and frost-bitten and increasingly abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to the number in some hellhole at the front. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In the Donbass and beyond.
Victory belongs to Russia: It is now only a matter of time.

2024: TIME FOR PEACE IN UKRAINE?
Too many have died on both sides. Both sides would quite clearly prefer a normalisation of affairs if at all possible... or better said, as soon as possible. We are all human beings after all when the essential fundamentals are admitted. Killing, wounding and attempts to do both don't come naturally to human beings. They enter this arena under certain circumstances only.
Many mistakes have led to this occurring. Too many to count stretching back too many years now in Ukraine. Ultimately no borders are required or should be required, especially not among the Slavic people. They, in their natural state should live as brothers and sisters, enjoying the basic usual things in life we all value most. The rise of false differences through extreme nationalism is the enemy of all we share as people, it rots the bonds that are so precious. Then, after those with extreme minds have done their work we see the fabric binding all decent, ordinary people together begin rapidly to fray. Knitting back that fabric becomes impossible then for a painfully long period of time.
The process cannot even start until perhaps half a decade... or even more passes. During this time many horrors are experienced. While the fighting goes on all descend to a human hell. It will take people of strong hearts and goodwill to start the process of knitting the fabric of life together across the Slav peoples of Ukraine and Russia. If that process can be started by certain brave and selfless hearts out of a compassion that has been distinctly absent then the process can begin... and ultimately normalisation can move forward. And in perhaps as little as a half decade borders need no longer be important as all hearts have come to see the benefits, the invaluable benefits of common, simple purpose and the joy that can slowly emerge from the healing process.
Sooner or later of course this must all end and the healing process will then start, most likely with glacial slowness.
To all intents and purposes, gauging the number of years the attempt was made, Vladimir Putin DID wish to see the Donbass remain inside the territorial borders of Ukraine. It is hard to believe that BOTH negotiating teams were merely playing for time in order to build up their strengths. In 2014-15 Putin rejected calls by those in the Donbass who called to be allowed to join the Russian Federation. With a view to taking them in at a later date by decree/force? Doubtful. But doubts may well exist within Ukraine. Nevertheless we are where we are.
What now? Russia does not require to take more territory. And Ukraine does not require to regain what has been lost. In what scenario? In the scenario of a future time when all this is in the far past, when the borders are open, trade going on as before and no nationalistic violence occurring... that is, when normalisation has taken place and bedded in.
THIS is where we ought all to be looking. There is no decent future available along the path we are presently taking for those increasingly threatened by the spread of violence we see now and that which appears likely to emerge in the days, weeks and months ahead. It’s time to start a renewed peace process. Some may say it is not yet time for this, however, the USA at least, if not the UK/EU, has expanding commitments elsewhere and appears to be readying itself to end its active engagement in Ukraine.
Before this conflict reaches an even more more bloody and destructive stage, with the threat of a general collapse of the Ukrainian nation and dangerous anarchy is let loose, before we reach a stage where the great powers begin thinking in terms of nuclear weapon use… is it not perhaps the time to begin searching for a peaceful resolution to this? A peaceful resolution that guarantees the Russian-speaking population of the Donbass a renewed peace and security, safe in the knowledge that their pro-Russian culture, legacy, affiliations and education system are guaranteed for all posterity. And renewed peace and security too for the people of Ukraine as they clamp down on the Nazi-mentality extremists in their midst and start to rebuild.
