Kremlin slams ‘irresponsible’ Ukraine nuclear talk.
An “extremist flank” of the country’s Western backers has lost touch with reality, Dmitry Peskov has said.
The idea of providing Ukraine with nuclear weapons comes from the “extremist flank” of Kiev’s Western backers, who have lost touch with reality, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.
The New York Times reported last week that EU and American officials have suggested that outgoing US President Joe Biden could give Ukraine nuclear arms as a “security guarantee.” “That would be an instant and enormous deterrent,” the paper claimed, in an article bylined by four of its reporters, but citing anonymous sources, in which it acknowledged that such a move would be “complicated and have serious implications.”
Commenting on the report on Tuesday, Peskov said: “You know, even the most provocative line aimed at escalating tensions has a fringe extremist flank. This idea probably comes from this fringe extremist flank.”
The Russian presidential spokesman described the suggestion of transferring nuclear weapons to Ukraine as “absolutely irresponsible deliberations by people, who probably have a poor understanding… of reality, and who do not feel a shred of responsibility” for the consequences of their proposals.
Peskov also noted that “all of these statements are anonymous.”

Moscow is concerned that the “outgoing administration in Washington continues to pursue... further escalation,” the spokesperson added.
US lawmaker Marjorie Taylor Greene has also slammed the idea of providing Kiev with nuclear weapons, arguing that it would be “insane and completely unconstitutional, possibly an act of treason.”
In a post on X on Tuesday, the representative for Georgia wondered whether the Biden administration is “trying to start a nuclear war and use it as the reason to stop the transfer of power to [President-elect Donald] Trump.”
Last week, Russia formally updated its nuclear doctrine, allowing for a nuclear response to a conventional attack by a non-nuclear state supported by a power that possesses weapons of mass destruction.
Moscow also fired its new Oreshnik medium-range hypersonic ballistic missile against a Ukrainian military industrial facility in response to Kiev’s use of US- and UK-made long-range weapons for attacks on internationally recognized Russian territory. Kiev’s strikes came after it received the greenlight from Washington.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the attacks deep into Russia have moved the Ukraine conflict to a global level, as Kiev could not have carried them out without the assistance of NATO states.

“We consider ourselves entitled to use our weapons against military facilities of those countries that allow the use of their weapons against our facilities,” Putin warned.
Russia's Defense Ministry Vows Retaliation for Ukrainian ATACMS Assault on Kursk Region.
Upon examining the areas attacked in the Kursk Region, it was confirmed that Ukrainian militants fired American-made ATACMS missiles.
Russia's Defense Ministry announced that it is preparing retaliatory actions against Ukraine for attacking with ATACMS missiles in the Kursk Region.
Over the past three days, Ukrainian forces carried out two strikes with long-range Western weapons on targets in Russia's Kursk Region, the Defense Ministry said.
On November 23, the Ukrainian military launched five ATACMS missiles near the village of Lotarevka at the position of the S-400 anti–aircraft missile division. Three missiles were destroyed, and two reached the target.
On November 25, Ukrainian troops struck the Vostochny airfield in Russia's Kursk Region using ATACMS missiles. Seven were shot down, but one reached its target. As a result, two soldiers were slightly injured from falling rocket fragments.
“The Ministry of Defense remains in control of the situation, and retaliatory actions are in progress," the statement reads.
Earlier on Monday, White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby, after a long denial, confirmed that Ukraine is allowed to use US-made ATACMS ballistic missiles to fire at targets in the western Russian region of Kursk.

Moscow to retaliate against Kiev’s ATACMS strikes – Lavrov.
Those responsible for attacking Russia with US-made missiles will be “punished,” Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

Moscow will retaliate against continuing Ukrainian strikes on Russian soil with Western-supplied long-range missiles, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday.
His statement came after Kiev fired US-made ATACMS missiles at Russia’s internationally recognized territory, despite an earlier warning from the Kremlin.
“Missile strikes deep inside Russian territory are an escalatory step,” Lavrov told Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper. “All of our warnings that these unacceptable actions will be met with an appropriate response have been ignored.”
Those behind attacks on Russian citizens and infrastructure will face “well-deserved punishment,” the minister warned. He added that “no escalation coming from the enemy would force us to abandon our goals” in Ukraine.
Lavrov reiterated that Moscow remains committed to neutralizing “threats to Russia’s security,” including Ukraine’s aspirations to join the US-led NATO alliance.
In a video address last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow “reserves the right” to strike countries that allow Ukraine to use Western-supplied arms against Russia.

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that it was preparing an unspecified response to Ukrainian strikes targeting an air defense battery and an airfield in Kursk Region. According to the MOD, Kiev used American-made ATACMS missiles during the attacks on November 23 and November 25.
On November 21, Russia struck a weapons factory in Dnepr with its brand-new Oreshnik ballistic missile. According to Putin, the strike was a response to “aggressive actions of NATO member” who support Ukraine.
The White House confirmed on Monday that it had lifted restrictions on the use of ATACMS by Ukrainian troops. The US previously barred Ukraine from using long-range weapons deep inside Russian territory due to concerns of possible escalation.

Russia expels British diplomat over ‘spying’ concerns.
The UK national made false statements when entering the country, Moscow’s security agency has said.
An employee of the British Embassy in Moscow has been deemed a security threat, after Russian investigators found inconsistencies in his paperwork, the FSB security service announced on Tuesday.
The individual, who is suspected of being a spy, has been ordered to leave the country, the statement said.
The British official was identified as Wilks Edward Prior, who the FSB said holds the position of second secretary in the Embassy's political department. The agency claimed the man was sent to Moscow as a replacement for one of the six alleged intelligence officers that Russia expelled in August.
”When applying for a visa, [Prior] intentionally made false statements, which is a violation of Russian law,” the statement said. “The FSB also found signs that the diplomat was conducting intelligence and sabotage activities that threaten the security of the Russian Federation.”
The FSB noted that the Russian Foreign Ministry and other government bodies had weighed in on the decision to revoke Prior's diplomatic credentials and order him to leave Russia within two weeks.
The British Foreign Office and the Russian Foreign Ministry have yet to comment on the announcement.
After the FSB statement was issued, Russian media reported seeing an Embassy car driving towards the Foreign Ministry building. Ambassador Nigel Casey is believed to have been summoned to be formally notified about the development.

In mid-September, the FSB announced that it had determined six Embassy staff members to be security threats. The Russian agency claimed at the time that London was playing a key role in the “escalation of the international military-political situation” and the Western campaign to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia.

VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
And now, all this being said, we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the bestial elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to their number there at the gates of Hell and their doom. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In Donbass and beyond and in due course across the world.
Victory belongs to Russia: It is now only a matter of time.
