A lot has been said about atrocities in the western media claimed to have been perpetrated by the Russians, for example at Bucha and Mariupol among others. These assertions are conveyed on the say so of the Ukrainian authorities. How willing though are western news broadcasters to convey atrocities attributed to the Ukrainians? The following will I think provide the answer.
If anyone wonders if they are receiving accurate coverage of the conflict in Ukraine I would suggest watching the video below of an event which occurred on the 2nd of June 2014 and ask themselves if they recall hearing about it on any mainstream media news channel at the time.
The video is harrowing to watch. The bodies (five women and three men) are real. Yet across western media there was only one single news report that occurred a day later. This was from CNN and occurred only because a CNN team happened to be nearby at the time of the atrocity and so the network could hardly ignore it as all others so obviously did.
The video below shows the unvarnished truth that was not considered newsworthy in western mainstream news.

Dmitry Medvedev believes that the worst-case scenario is developing in the Ukraine conflict.
The West is bringing the Ukraine conflict to a stage in which it could escalate uncontrollably with potentially global repercussions, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has warned. His comments came amid reports that many Western countries have given Ukraine permission to use their weaponry to strike deep into Russia.
In a post on Telegram on Friday, Medvedev, who serves as the deputy chief of Russia’s Security Council, stated that Western countries, which are said to have signed off on long-range strikes, must understand that their military equipment and personnel either operating in Ukraine or carrying out attacks on Russia from other countries, “will be destroyed.”
He stressed that Russia considers all long-range systems used by Ukraine to be directly controlled by NATO personnel. “This is not some kind of ‘military assistance, this is taking part in a war against us.”
Medvedev said NATO wants Western involvement in the conflict to be seen as the independent initiative of certain countries, hoping to avoid the need to invoke the collective defense clause.
The former president dismissed this narrative as a “dangerous and harmful delusion.” According to him, actions such as sending troops to Ukraine or guiding long-range weapons are a “serious escalation of the conflict.”
While the US-led military bloc wants to believe that Russia would never use tactical nuclear weapons against Ukraine or NATO, “life could be much worse than their frivolous reasoning” allows, Medvedev warned.
He went on to say that the West risks miscalculating the chances of nuclear weapons being used, just as it failed to anticipate the start of Russia’s Ukraine operation.
This is not intimidation or nuclear bluff. The current military conflict with the West is developing according to the worst possible scenario. The power of the deployed NATO-made weapons is constantly escalating. That is why today no one can exclude the transition of the conflict to its final stage.
Russia has repeatedly said that a nuclear war must never be fought, ruling out the use of any nuclear weapons against Ukraine.
Some Western countries have supported NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg’s call last week to the bloc’s members to consider lifting “some of the restrictions they have put on the use of weapons” sent to Ukraine.

Several Western media outlets also reported this week that the US, Kiev’s key backer, has allowed Ukraine to conduct “limited” long-range strikes deep into Russia. Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky’s office confirmed the reports, saying Kiev will now have a better chance of “countering Russian attempts to mass across the border.”
Moscow has warned that the actions Kiev’s Western backers could lead to an escalation and serious consequences.

The West has misinterpreted Russia's openness to dialogue on Ukraine as a sign of weakness and is now pushing the world to the edge of a disastrous all-out nuclear exchange, former US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter told Sputnik.
US President Joe Biden has authorized Ukraine to hit targets inside Russia with US-made weapons, bringing the conflict to a new level. White House officials claim that Washington's new policy pertains only to what they call as "acts of self-defense" by the Ukrainian military that is continuing to retreat.
Previously, other NATO member states, including the UK, France and Sweden, gave a nod to the Zelensky regime to use their weapons systems to attack Russia.
The Kiev regime and its Western allies believe they can gain an advantage over Russia by confining its special military operation to Ukrainian territory, ex-US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter told Sputnik. This situation allows Ukraine to train its troops in neighboring NATO states and receive arms and other equipment from the alliance's hubs, not making them Russia's legitimate targets.
However, things could drastically change once NATO-grade missiles start flying into Russia's territory with the approval of Western countries, according to the military expert.
"France is now giving Ukraine permission to use the SCALP air launched cruise missile against targets inside Russia," Ritter said. "Now [French President Emmanuel Macron] claims it's just military targets, there won't be hitting any civilian infrastructure, but it doesn't matter. The fact is, if the French Scalp missile is used to attack targets inside Russia, this isn't Ukraine defending itself, it's France attacking Russia," he stated.
The military expert indicated that it is a widely accepted fact that Ukrainians lack the ability to pre-program long-range SCALP missiles armed with conventional warheads. Therefore, it would be necessary for French technicians to carry out this task. The question arises: where would they obtain the targeting data? According to Ritter, the French military relies on a network of Syracuse satellites to transmit the essential information required for SCALP missiles.
"The bottom line is it is French space reconnaissance that's gathering information and transmitting the information to the people who program the SCALP. The French operators, using French communication systems that transmit data collected by French intelligence satellites. This is France attacking. Who picks the target? Ukraine. France? It doesn't matter. It's the French."
Ritter spotlighted the fact that Moscow has recently signaled that it is well aware of who operates NATO-grade long-range missiles and who provides reconnaissance and communications.
"[Russian President Vladimir Putin] knows that it's not Ukrainian space reconnaissance, it's not Ukrainian communications, it's not Ukrainian technicians that are doing the targeting. It is the French, it is the Germans. It is the British. It is the Americans. And therefore, if these missiles, these weapons systems that are now being greenlit by the respective Western nations, to be used by Ukraine to attack targets inside Russia, if this happens, this is no longer about Ukraine defending itself. It's about NATO attacking Russia."
The question then arises as to how Russia will respond to these attacks, continued the military expert. According to NATO member states, they authorize Ukraine to use their weapons against Russia as sovereign nations, not as a military bloc. According to Ritter, this apparently means that they invite Russia's retaliation strikes inside their respective territories and will not invoke Article 5, stipulating collective defense of NATO member states. "Because if they do that, then it's clear that this is a NATO confrontation against Russia," he stressed.
"If NATO chooses then to respond by launching additional attacks against Russia (remember, these are retaliation attacks – Russia is retaliating against NATO attacks against its territory) this would be an all-out assault by NATO against Russia. And former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev made it clear that the Russian response would be nuclear. And this would lead to a general nuclear exchange and the end of the world. That's where we're at right now. This isn't about helping Ukraine. This isn't about Ukraine defending itself. This is about a larger plan by the collective West, by NATO, by the United States to strategically defeat Russia."
The West's major problem is that it has completely misread Russia since the outset of the conflict and considered Moscow's calls for dialogue and negotiated settlement as a sign of weakness, according to the military analyst.
"Therefore the collective determination of the West is that they just continue to pressure Russia, ratchet up the pressure that Russia will fold like a house of cards, and run to the peace table and bring an end to this conflict. That's not going to happen. This is a misreading of the situation by the West," warned Ritter.
"And so the West now will attack Russia, trying to pressure Russia to the peace table. But all it will do is guarantee a Russian response that if the West doesn't respond properly to that, if the West thinks that it therefore has the right to strike, Russian return will lead to Armageddon, the end of the world. That's where we're at today. This isn't a game. This isn't a joke. This is the end of all humanity," the military expert cautioned.

Stacy Gilbert told the media she resigned over a report that claimed Israel did not withhold American aid from Palestinans.
The US Department of State lied to Congress when it said Israel was not restricting the flow of aid into Gaza, a former official has claimed after resigning in protest.
Stacy Gilbert served in the State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration for 20 years. She left her job as a senior adviser on Tuesday, citing objections in relation to a 46-page memo titled NSM-20, which was provided to US lawmakers on May 10, she told Reuters and The Guardian.
In the memo, the State Department said Israel had not breached a US law that prohibits the provision of arms to nations that restrict American humanitarian aid.
Gilbert was one of the experts consulted for the report and says the conclusion did not correspond to reality.
“It is absolutely the opinion of the humanitarian subject matter experts in the State Department, and not just in my bureau – people who look at this from the intelligence community and from other bureaus,” she said of her position. She described NSM-20 “patently false” in comments to the British newspaper.
The draft report was taken out of expert hands and edited at a higher level, she explained. After reading what Congress was ultimately told, she informed her colleagues that she would be resigning. Her departure was confirmed to the Washington Post by inside sources. On Thursday, the department stood over NSM-20, but declined to comment on Gilbert’s role.
Alexander Smith, a contractor for the US Agency for International Development (USAID), also reportedly left his job over his dissent on Gaza. He said his presentation on maternal and child mortality among Palestinians had been canceled by the agency leadership last week.
“I cannot do my job in an environment in which specific people cannot be acknowledged as fully human,” he told the same outlet. Smith and Gilbert are among nine US officials known to have resigned in protest at Washington’s policy since Israel launched its military campaign in Gaza in retaliation for the deadly raid by the Palestinian militant group Hamas last October.

Josh Paul, who was among the first to resign just weeks into the conflict, told the Washington Post that at least two dozen more US officials had also quietly resigned since October.

Zwelivelile Mandela has called for global solidarity with Palestine, drawing parallels with the anti-Apartheid movement.
In an exclusive interview with RT, Zwelivelile Mandela, a South African MP and grandson of Nelson Mandela, has criticized the unwavering support that certain Western countries, particularly the US and UK, have given to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
His remarks came shortly after an Israeli attack on Sunday which struck a tent camp in the Gaza city of Rafah, reportedly causing mass civilian casualties.
Mandela compared contemporary support for Netanyahu with that once extended by former UK PM Margaret Thatcher and former US President Ronald Reagan to the Apartheid regime in South Africa.
“The civil society rose against its own government in support of our struggle for liberation, coming and rallying behind the anti-Apartheid movement as well as the Free Nelson Mandela campaign, which ensured that we were able to rally the global community behind us and to bring Apartheid South Africa to its knees,” Mandela said.
“Netanyahu would not be so bold and arrogant” without the support that he’s continuously had from the allies in the West, particularly from the US and UK, he explained.

Mandela also highlighted the recent disregard by Israel of the International Court of Justice (ICJ). “The court ordered Israel to halt its offensive last week… [but] Israel has so far completely ignored the ICJ ruling and continued with its offensive in Gaza.”
Reflecting on South Africa’s liberation struggle, he emphasized the effectiveness of international solidarity and the tactical use of boycotts, divestment, and sanctions.
According to Mandela, there is “the need to ensure that the global community is mobilized and is playing a significant role to boycott, divest, and have sanctions against the Zionist entity comes from our own experience.”
In 1997, during a visit to Gaza, Nelson Mandela expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, stating that Africans’ freedom is “incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.” Echoing his grandfather’s words, Zwelivelile Mandela said: “We have committed ourselves to be that generation that will liberate Palestine in our lifetime.”
The conflict between Israel and Hamas started on October 7, when the Gaza-based group launched a surprise raid into the south of the country, killing some 1,200 people and taking approximately 250 hostages. More than 35,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed so far amid Israel’s operation to destroy the militant group, according to Gaza’s health authorities.

The French president’s stance on Ukraine creates a “staggering danger,” the National Rally politician has said.
French politician Marine Le Pen has accused President Emmanuel Macron of wanting to “go to war with Russia” in an interview with France Info that aired on Thursday. The three-time presidential candidate said that Macron’s recent remarks on sending NATO trainers to Ukraine and allowing Kiev to use Western-supplied weapons to strike certain targets in Russia risk turning the current conflict into the next “world war.”
Le Pen’s comments come amid intense discussions in the West on how far into Russia Kiev should be allowed to strike using Western long-range weapons. Several NATO governments have said they are in favor of strikes on Russian territory, while NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has urged member-states to “lift some of” their restrictions on the use of Western arms.
Macron weighed into the discussion on Tuesday, opining that NATO should allow Ukraine to “neutralize military sites” inside Russia “from which Ukraine is being attacked,” even if they are far behind the front line. Le Pen slammed the idea, arguing that it “creates the risk of a global conflict.”
Le Pen said that the French leader’s views led her to “conclud[e] that Emmanuel Macron wants France to dive head first into war with Russia.” The right-wing politician said that she “extremely firmly opposes” his positions, which could “create an absolutely staggering danger” for France.

Le Pen previously accused Macron of “playing politics with war” and “hijacking” the Ukraine conflict for his electoral agenda. She has consistently opposed plans to admit Ukraine into NATO and the EU, place economic sanctions on Russia and to deliver heavy weapons to Kiev.
On Friday, NATO’s Stoltenberg announced that “several” of the bloc’s nations had never placed any restrictions on Kiev’s use of Western weapons. Reports also emerged that the US, which had previously not allowed Ukraine to deploy American arms outside of what Washington recognizes as Ukrainian territory, had granted permission to use its systems to target certain parts of Russia.
The reports were confirmed by Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky’s office, which said that limited strikes are now allowed against direct threats to Kharkov Region, where Russian troops have recently made significant gains.
Moscow has repeatedly insisted that Western arms supplies to Kiev will only prolong the war, and accused Ukraine of using the weapons to attack civilian infrastructure within Russia. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Friday slammed the Western discussions about “allowing” Ukraine to strike deep inside Russia as “a classic NATO-style manipulation.”

VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
And now, all this being said, we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the bestial elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to their number there at the gates of Hell and their doom. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In Donbass and beyond and in due course across the world.
Victory belongs to Russia: It is now only a matter of time.

We are in a 'Phony War', that period when war is being waged but its effects have not yet hit home. Our politicians appear intent on bringing those effects to us. Yet silence largely prevails. Why?
There was a time not so very long ago when the threat of nuclear war motivated a great many people to get out onto the streets and tell their governments in no uncertain terms that they should act to prevent it.
Now… ** crickets **.
The current situation of virtual international silence persists while the juggernaut toward war seems only ever to be provided with engine upgrades rather than brakes by our politicians. Every indication is that they perceive some great benefit to themselves in the pursuit of war rather than engaging in actions that might bring peace. Do they have a death wish that recklessly encompasses the rest of us?
You may have noticed that diplomacy these days is notable by its absence. It has been converted to a means to engage in trickery rather than evidence sincerity, simply another way to wage war and burn bridges rather than looking to find peace by building them. Yet few of us seem to be concerned by any of this. It’s just a case of business as usual, or rather perhaps simply doing the usual mundane day to day without looking up from the virtually endless toil of surviving modern life.
We will surely look up when the bombs start to come down. Far too late then of course.
Are we so disgusted with politicians of all sides that we have sunk into fatalistic apathy on this point. Do we have a permanent Que Sera, Sera attitude to just about everything outside our own limited sphere of influence now?
Perhaps take a look at that foreign land they call the past sometime where minds were not as dulled or as lazy, where there was a communal desire to survive and determination to get together in solidarity to protest the insanity being demonstrated by our leaders? Discover what has been largely lost in the western world, the desire to act together in unity when we are in mortal danger from the stupidity and recklessness of our leaders.
Have we all been sold on the selfishness and self-interest of competing rather than cooperating? Have the last few decades of rampant, materialist consumerism made us all self-isolating to the degree that we trust no one but our direct family any more. Is that it?
Whatever lies behind the apparent slothful unwillingness to stand up and be counted and take a stand for everyone against the oncoming war the resemblance to lemmings heading blindly to the cliff edge is striking.
What good will all our shiny assets of car, home and all else do for us when the mushroom clouds rise balefully on the horizon and the deadly wind from their almighty blasts comes soon after? No God above will help us then. There will be no helpline waiting on our call for rescue. We will be wiped from this earth along with all we love and hold dear. You and your neighbours that you never got to know. All gone in a matter of seconds.
Might it not be a good idea to protest this oncoming reality? Perhaps give up the balm of the mindless drivel on your television set for a while and get to work with others to raise some noise? Or is life too short to worry about mass death and destruction of all we know and risk being distracted from those things you consider to be so much more important?
It’s up to us. Wait for the oncoming war, hoping for the best. Or get up from our cocoon-like TV nests and do something about stopping it?
