Trump, Putin May Hold Phone Conversation in Coming Days or Weeks - Waltz.
US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin may hold a phone conversation in the coming days or weeks, Trump’s National Security Advisor Designate Mike Waltz said on Sunday.
"Well, we haven't set the exact framework for it yet. We're working on that, but I do you know, expect a call for at least in the coming days and weeks, so that that would be a step we and we'll take it from there. I will say, you know, the other thing that we're going to need to see is really stabilizing things on the battlefield. And one of the things that we'll be asking of the Ukrainians is they have real manpower issues," Trump’s National Security Advisor Designate Mike Waltz said on air of ABC.
Trump recognizes the fact that the idea of retaking territories held by Russia is unrealistic, and others are starting to understand this too, the national security advisor designate added.
Waltz also said that achieving a ceasefire would be an "incredibly positive first step" for both Russia and Ukraine that could lead to a negotiated settlement of the conflict.
"Everybody knows that this has to end somehow diplomatically. I just do not think it is realistic to say we are going to expel every Russian from every inch of Ukrainian soil. Even Crimea, President Trump has acknowledged that reality. And I think it has been a huge step forward that the entire world is acknowledging that reality," Waltz said.
Preparations for Putin-Trump Meeting Underway - Waltz
In June 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin set the terms for a peace settlement in Ukraine, which include the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Russia's new regions and guarantees from Kiev that it will abandon plans to join NATO. The president also mentioned an end to sanctions against Russia.
After Ukrainian troops attacked the Kursk Region in August, Putin called the prospect of negotiations with Kiev impossible. Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said that Moscow's peace proposals had not been voided, but Russia would not engage with Ukraine at this point.

Preparations for talks between US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are underway, incoming US National Security Adviser Michael Waltz has said. Phone conversations between the two are expected to occur in the “coming days and weeks,” Waltz believes.
The incoming senior official made the remarks on Sunday in an interview with ABC News’ Jonathan Karl. Asked how soon the Trump-Putin meeting could happen, Waltz did not provide estimates.
“The preparations are underway,” he said.
It remains unclear whether the potential meeting between Trump and Putin would involve anyone else beyond the two, Waltz added. However, phone talks are expected to occur shortly, he said.

Previously, Trump announced that a meeting with Putin is being set up, suggesting it would likely take place after he officially assumes office on January 20. Kremlin has confirmed that both Putin and Trump have expressed intent to communicate, with spokesman Dmitry Peskov stating earlier this week, however, that there were still no exact details on where or when the potential meeting could take place.

The Russian forces have taken control of the Yantarnoe village in the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Kalinoveo village in the Kharkov Region, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
"The units of Battlegroup Yug liberated the Yantarnoe settlement in the Donetsk People's Republic as a result of active offensive actions," the ministry said in a statement, adding that Battlegroup Zapad liberated the Kalynovoe settlement.
Overall, the Ukrainian armed forces lost up to 1,390 soldiers in the past 24 hours, the ministry added.

Kiev lost over 450 servicepeople in clashes with Russia’s Battlegroup Tsentr, up to 410 servicepeople in battles with Battlegroup Zapad, up to 250 soldiers in clashes with Battlegroup Yug and over 190 soldiers in clashes with Russia’s Battlegroup Vostok, the ministry specified.

Blinken Exploited Biden’s Senility and Brought US to Brink of Nuclear War – Scott Ritter.
Scott Ritter pointed out that Antony Blinken has facilitated the Ukraine conflict because "peace with Russia was never an option, only war."
Outgoing US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is "a war criminal in every sense of the word," former American Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter wrote on X, commenting on Blinken’s video, in which he praised the Biden administration’s work.
Ritter accused Blinken of being "singularly responsible for the deaths of more than a million people" as a result of the conflict in Ukraine.
"You took advantage of a mentally diminished president to take our nation to the brink of nuclear war with Russia, violating the Constitution's due process," the ex-intelligence officer wrote, referring to the outgoing US President Joe Biden.
Ritter voiced hope that Blinken would be "investigated, charged, and found guilty of betraying" his country. "And I hope you are given the justice you so richly deserve," the ex-intelligence officer concluded.

Blinken earlier told the New York Times that when it comes to the Biden administration, there’s allegedly "a very strong record of achievement, historic in many ways."
These claims are clearly out of sync with Biden’s plummeting approval rating, which hit a new low in December, when just 34% of respondents ok'd his job as POTUS, according to a Marquette Law School national poll.

It is not possible to “expel every Russian from every inch” of soil claimed by Ukraine, including the Crimean peninsula, incoming US National Security Adviser Michael Waltz has admitted.
Acknowledging “that reality” has become a major step toward resolving the conflict between Moscow and Kiev, Waltz told ABC News in an interview on Sunday, adding that this idea is now in the process of being accepted by Ukraine’s backers.
“Everybody knows that this [conflict] has to end somehow diplomatically. I just don’t think it’s realistic to say we’re going to expel every Russian from every inch of Ukrainian soil. Even Crimea – President[-elect Donald] Trump has acknowledged that reality, and I think it has been a huge step forward that the entire world is acknowledging that reality,” Waltz stated.
Waltz suggested that accepting the fact that returning to Ukraine’s original post-Soviet borders is unrealistic now opens the way to addressing the question of “how do we no longer perpetuate this conflict and how… we no longer allow it to escalate in a way that drags in the entire world.”
The remarks appeared to be reminiscent of statements previously made by other close Trump allies, including his vice president, J.D. Vance. Shortly ahead of the November election, Vance suggested Kiev could end up in a situation where it decides to cede some lands to Russia.
The stance signaled by the incoming US administration sharply contrasts with the goal repeatedly proclaimed by Kiev of regaining the entirety of its post-Soviet territory. This has been accompanied by an explicit refusal by Ukraine to engage in any meaningful negotiations with Russia. Moscow, however, regards the five formerly Ukrainian regions, including Kherson, Zaporozhye, Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as Crimea, as integral parts of its territory.
Crimea broke away from Ukraine in the aftermath of the 2014 Maidan coup in Kiev, joining Russia via a referendum shortly thereafter. The four other regions were incorporated into Russia in late 2022 after the local population overwhelmingly backed such a move during separate referendums. Last year, Moscow demanded that Kiev pull its troops out of the areas it still controls in its former regions in order to begin the long-stalled negotiation process.

VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
And now, all this being said, we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the bestial elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to their number there at the gates of Hell and their doom. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In Donbass and beyond and in due course across the world.
Victory belongs to Russia: It is now only a matter of time.
