Russian Forces Liberate Two Key Settlements in Donetsk and Kharkov Region - MoD.
Russia's Battlegroup Zapad liberated Lozovaya and Zagryzovo in the Kharkov region and Ivanovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"As a result of the offensive of Battlegroup Zapad, the settlements of Lozovaya, Zagryzovo in the Kharkov region and Ivanovka in the Donetsk People's Republic were liberated," the Russian military department said.
It is noted that the group neutralized nine Ukrainian brigades and repulsed 25 counterattacks of Ukrainian armed forces assault groups.
Russia’s Battlegroup Tsent has eliminated over 3,800 Ukrainian military personnel over the past week, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"Repelled 76 enemy counterattacks. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to over 3,815 military personnel, six tanks, including a German-made Leopard, six infantry fighting vehicles, seven armored personnel carriers, including the US-made M1117 and four M113," the statement read.
Russia's Battlegroup Zapad has repelled 25 Ukrainian counterattacks and eliminated up to 3,080 soldiers in the past week, the ministry said, adding that Ukraine lost over 2,450 soldiers in battles with Russia's Battlegroup Sever.
Kiev lost over 1,970 soldiers in battles with Russia’s Battlegroup Yug in the past week, and a total of 51 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered, the ministry concluded.

'Targeting Russians But Safe for Americans': What Bioweapons is the Pentagon Developing?
The US is conducting military biological research aimed at discovering new harmful bacteria and viruses tailored to infect certain races, nationalities and even residents of specific regions, Igor Korotchenko, military analyst and editor-in-chief of "National Defense" magazine told Sputnik.
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) disclosed on December 27 that convicted US spy Eugene Spector had gathered and transmitted biotech data to the Pentagon to aid in creating a high-speed system for genetically screening Russians.
The Pentagon's apparent goal is to develop a bioweapon that would affect Russians but remain harmless to Westerners, Korotchenko said. To that end, the US needs to collect bio-material and genetic samples from various ethnic groups living in Russia.
"[Spector] aided the Pentagon’s military biological branches in collecting and transferring relevant samples with the aim of identifying potential vulnerabilities in the genetic code of certain categories of the Russian population," Korotchenko explained.
The Russian counter-intelligence services are aware of and actively preventing the Pentagon's bio-research activities within Russia, the expert noted.
Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of the Russian Armed Forces Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defense Troops, had previously exposed the Pentagon's sophisticated bio-weapon program operating in Ukraine.
In August, Kirillov revealed that prior to 2022, the US had obtained up to 16,000 biological samples from Ukraine with the aim of developing viruses and bacteria dangerous to ethnic Ukrainians and Russians.
General Kirillov was assassinated in a bombing on December 17. Russian investigators stated that the terror attack was carried out on orders from Ukrainian special services.

VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralised Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation is likely to bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving with the newly mobilised Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve quite miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their starting positions.
And now, all this being said, we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where these pathetic Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
The pitiable young and old of Ukraine have been frogmarched to their deaths as cannon-fodder while the bestial elites of the collective West urge their "president" to add more to their number there at the gates of Hell and their doom. We must feel for the majority of them as they are not the Nazis we revile, in most part they are decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate seems sealed.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favours them. Victory will be Russia's. In Donbass and beyond and in due course across the world.
