DONALD TRUMP: THE QUIXOTIC DICTATOR
Some swear by Donald Trump, others curse him. Others simply see him as unpredictable.
When Donald Trump appears to be broadly doing what we want we tend to like him. If we are not completely smitten by the man we are at least irritated when he does not.
The fact that he is quite clearly able to delight and annoy both sides of this equation indicates one obvious fact, he is not a devotee of any particular policy, except where it narrowly aligns with his own desires. This narrow view of what is good and what is not, informed solely by his own particular notions, marks Trump out as a man with no particular moral compass.
Donald Trump quite obviously considers himself to be a genius. He is well know for showing signs of boredom when advisors try to inform him on the details of any matter. He conceives that his instincts are all he needs to read things accurately and has every confidence that they will deliver the right solution in every circumstance.
Trump’s admiration for those he perceives as dictators is well known. Whether they are indeed dictators or are only such in his own mind, is neither here nor there. The fact that he sees their ability to act without any restraint, or very little restraint quite obviously appeals to him. In recent weeks a short video appeared online which appeared to pick him up saying that his wish was to be able to act as he perceived these ‘dictators’ acting, that is to merely have to give a command and have it obeyed without question.
In the last month or so Donald Trump and his Secretary of War have been engaged in rhetoric regarding the killing of men in boats off the coast of Venezuela that indicates they have no regard at all for the U.S. or international law forbidding such acts. Both Trump and Hegseth have been completely brazen in their recent statements, pronouncing their obvious pleasure in the killing of people showing no sign of presenting any danger to those killing them. They appear completely oblivious to, or completely careless of, the specific rules forbidding such acts of murder.
Now, in the hours to come it appears that Trump will initiate a full scale military assault on the president and government of Venezuela, an assault on a nation that is not in any shape or form a military threat to the United States. That this too represents an illegal act contrary to international law and the precepts of the United Nations clearly does not trouble Trump nor Hegseth one little bit. In fact they delight in the prospect and will crow proudly about it once the operation begins and we will see much chest-thumping and bragging about it if it achieves its goal.
Donald Trump will be ferociously applauded by those zealots who cannot see anything other than good in all he says and does. There will be others who voted for Trump on every occasion who will see that he is not the man of peace he claimed to be, not the man who said he would end America’s forever wars and not the man you could trust to keep his word. They will hopefully see that they have been used, duped and used by a man who has no problem telling lies and who in fact has no fixed positions on anything, without a trace of a moral compass, who sees everything in black and white and strictly through the lens of his own narrow interests.
It is ironic that Donald J. Trump can refer to others as dictators when he fervently wishes with all the heart he still retains, to be one himself.
What other laws will this wannabe dictator break with impunity? He has recently talked of arbitrarily removing the citizenship of U.S. residents. He appears ready and willing to put any group in the U.S. he doesn’t like onto a proscribed list. It is certain he would ban certain newspaper titles and tV news channels from existence if he could. The U.S. military and the National Guard could get useful training when sent to cities he finds not run to his specifications.
What else is this ego-fueled narcissist capable of that he considers he should have full impunity to do? Are there ANY laws he would not break if he felt the need to? What about the Geneva Convention, those on Torture (Trump once said he would “outdo” waterboarding) what about any and all legislation on Human Rights? Do you think he respects any of these?
This is the man who carried the hopes of many that the wars that have taken so many lives in recent years, both abroad and at home would end, that America could be made great again by becoming prosperous and proud of itself. This is the man who said he would end the dismal records of Obama and Biden on Ukraine and turn things around in 24 hours.
Now this is the man who appears ready to give the green light to yet another regime change operation, another war, this time in what has been called ‘America’s Back Yard’. Let this man continue as he is going currently and he could very well eventually bring his aggression right to YOUR door. Who knows what such a man, such a man enamored of dictators and of being one himself, would do?
DONALD TRUMP: THE QUIXOTIC DICTATOR
VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT’S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME.
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralized Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation will bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving along with the newly mobilized Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their original positions and beyond.
And now we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where the Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery, with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
We must feel for the majority of Ukrainian troops as they are, in most part now, not of the Nazi-mentality deserving of revulsion, in most part decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate for now appears sealed, condemned to death by the political and media elites of the West.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favors them. Victory will be Russia’s. In Donbass and by reputation and respect gained, across the entire world.
