WAR IS A MADNESS PSYCHIATRY CANNOT CURE
It doesn’t take much imagination to picture the damage a drone carrying a 5 to 10 kg payload will do to a human body. There are internet sites actively glorifying each incident in the Ukraine conflict where such carnage can be seen and many comment enthusiastically about each fatality or grievous injury. War requires the complete demonization of the enemy, the ‘other side’, ignoring completely the common humanity both sides share.
At the start of the conflict there were, without doubt many Ukrainian men fighting who had minds infected by a mythology fostered in western Ukraine that Hitler and his Nazis had been good for Ukraine. But as the fighting dragged on these were largely wiped out and replaced by ordinary Ukrainian men no different from the Russians they were told were savage demons, ‘Orcs’, invaders who deserved no mercy.
There have been acts of murder on both sides. In the early months of the fighting a number of young Russian fighter were captured and tortured on film, eyes gouged out with knives, plastic bags put over there heads and kicked to death, all on film by those who took their lives. In recent weeks a group of Ukrainian drone operators (arguably the most hated on either side) were captured by Russian forces and summarily executed (also verifyable via film taken). These examples are evidence of the utter madness and extreme hatred that occurs in any war. Your brothers in arms, killed by the enemy and in these days killed most mercilessly by drone operators they have almost no chance against, hunted down from above and slaughtered, drive men to horrendous acts of hatred.
War dehumanizes you, driving you mad over time, it desensitizes you to almost everything in a situation where normality has completely vanished, isolating you in a desolate wasteland where escape is impossible. The conditions experienced are basic and brutal, alienating all the senses and especially eliminating any sense of continuity with your life before the war. Kill or be killed is the primal law you now exist by, the concept of mercy and any trace of compassion for ‘the other’ is gone within days in these conditions.
No living a normal, everyday life can imagine anything approaching the true horror of war. And especially not the levels of fear, hatred and carnage generated by the new kind of war that has now emerged, that which came with the invention of the drone. First used to devastating effect by the USA in Afghanistan and Iraq in their largest form, the ‘Predator’ drones and now brought into equally devastating form by the Ukrainians and then the Russians, the first person view (FPV) drone. In such drone warfare the U.S. and later the Ukrainians and Russians used remote operators sitting either in full comfort and safety (as in the USA) or partially so (in the case of in Ukraine) to remotely bring down death and destruction to the enemy. There is something about this form of warfare that revolts the mind of those not wholly consumed and committed to their side by the madness of war. There is something essentially cowardly and inhuman about it.
Fairness was never going to be a significant factor in war, we all know the saying, ‘All Is Fair In Love And War’. That saying was never more true than now. The advent of drone warfare has taken it to new levels of accuracy. Now those who have the lust to do so can look into their computer screens and joyfully watch their hated enemies blown to pieces in the comfort of their homes. Who knows the insanity that can arise through the feelings generated by those so infected by the demonization their mainstream media has promoted in them day after day about the unalloyed evils of the enemy? By this means the madness of war is being brought home and engendered even in those far from the battlefront with the portent of grim consequences for a the future.
The western world is told daily by all its mainstream media that one side of the conflict in Ukraine is wholly good while the other is wholly bad. Demonization of the Russians and of the Russian president in particular has become the norm and for year after year. All normal responses where we might seek insight beyond for ourselves we are asked to abandon and simply believe what we are told. We are told an unrelentingly one-sided narrative, a simplistic black and white portrayal, the Ukrainians are wholly in the right, the Russians wholly in the wrong, that a war the West began in 2014 was begun by Russia in 2022, that the West and Ukraine were totally innocent undeserving of a completely “unprovoked” Russian attack.
The madness of war, once something occurring ‘over there’ has been brought home to everyone by the power of modern media. We are told to hate the enemy, to donate our hard-earned money so that ever more drones can be sent to kill that enemy. We are invited to be consumed by hatred and avidly supportive of the war and indeed of the future war against Russia now being planned and worked towards.
The present European leaders quite obviously see a future war against Russia as the solution to their failure in the present one in Ukraine. They use the well worn and ever-successful tactic of using fear for the enemy as their tool to generate the consent they need for this war. We are all clearly to be infected by their own madness to the nth degree in their hope that they can achieve this result. Who knows where the generation of such fear, hatred and avowed, insane lust for war will end? Nowhere good, that much is certain. Only in ever greater depths of the insanity war always brings with it.
WAR IS A MADNESS PSYCHIATRY CANNOT CURE
VICTORY BELONGS TO RUSSIA: IT’S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME.
Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralized Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation will bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving along with the newly mobilized Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their original positions and beyond.
And now we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where the Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery, with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
We must feel for the majority of Ukrainian troops as they are, in most part now, not of the Nazi-mentality deserving of revulsion, in most part decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate for now appears sealed, condemned to death by the political and media elites of the West.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favors them. Victory will be Russia’s. In Donbass and by reputation and respect gained, across the entire world.
