TRUMP: A NEW VARIETY OF NEOCON
Trump is a Neocon of a different type than we’ve seen before. He is far less cerebral and far more emotionally engaged. Whereas the usual Neocon will pay at least some degree of lip-service to international law Trump, in his grandiose, ego-fueled way doesn’t see why he should. Just as Biden memorably scoffed at the idea that U.S. power was limited, “We’re the USA man!” voicing the concept forcefully that the U.S. can do anything it puts its mind to, Trump is no different, and is an even more strident believer in this.
In his first tern Trump gathered Neocon figure like John Bolton and Mike Pompeo around him, in this one he has Marco Rubio. Rubio is a Neocon of the type we are well used to, conniving and deadly. Trump will give him his head on his personal project against Venezuela and Cuba, mostly because Trump wants very much to hold onto his fervent support base in Florida.
No one should ever think Trump will work to achieve success where their particular interests lie. He just might. But he might just dash all hope in that direction too. His focus is narrow. What counts with him is building his own reputation as focus one. Focus two is building the power of the USA which feeds into his first focus, taking himself and his reputation to ever greater ego-boosting heights. As the Brits sometimes say, he is “Like the Curate’s egg... good in parts”.
Trump appears determined to dissolve barriers and create additional links between the USA and Russia. This is not because of any emotional attachment to Russia or even due to his constant eye for doing profitable business. This latter motive is no doubt there as a secondary factor, however the main reason for forming a better relationship with Russia is the determination to reduce her ability to support China. Trump is fully signed on to weakening China. As seen from the U.S. business and political elite viewpoint China simply cannot be allowed to continue taking markets from the USA. As China’s sphere of influence in the Far East continues to grow, and spreads ever further westward then naturally the U.S. sphere of influence shrinks. This is why almost the entire self-interest angst of the U.S. political/business elite is focused, almost exclusively by now, on China. Ukraine is Europe’s problem, a problem the U.S. needs to extricate itself from to concentrate the issue of China which is of overwhelming importance to it.
Russia and China complement each other perfectly. Russia has massive food and energy resources which China will need on a continuing basis for generations. Russia also has certain military technologies and fields of experience which are currently unavailable to the Chinese.
China, in turn has a massive manufacturing base and huge strength in the field of technological research and development. These two have many reasons to work closely together. The most important of all however, is the clear underlying threat from the USA. Despite U.S. efforts to cozy up to one or another of them and in particular the coming wooing of Russia by the Trump administration, both Russia and China know the long-term plan of the U.S. elites, to weaken them both. Russia is not a problem in the same way, or of the same magnitude to the U.S. elites as China however. China is the primary target and will remain so for many decades to come. To target China most effectively the USA must limit the protective capability of Russia in respective of it. Therefore, China has every reason to cleave as close to Russia as possible to circumvent U.S. plans against it.
The western empire of aggressive control over the rest of the planet is under great threat. The last several decades have seen its power and reputation harmed by one regime change war after another. Paradoxically these were meant to increase that power and influence, instead it has resulted in the general impoverishment of them. Now, with Trump we see the Neocon crusader spirit return in a different form. Much less keen to spend taxpayers money than the Neocon’s of old but just as dedicated to spreading U.S. influence through whatever means are available to him, whether within or outside of international law, United Nation precepts, historical ethical or moral restraints. To a significant degree Trump is the perfect Neocon battering ram. Psychologically inclined to believe himself the most supremely intelligent man on the planet and its rightful global dictator but at the same time not being too bright regarding detail and nuance he can be quite easily manipulated by the existing Neocon network.
In short Trump is ideal for the Neocons we have all grown to know and despise. He is in fact the Neocon’s Neocon... at least while we remains president. And in the years he remains in power they will use him to the absolute limit of their ability to achieve their goal of full spectrum dominance over what they wish to achieve, a de facto prison planet. This ultimately may well be Trump’s legacy if his (and their) plans work out and China (along with Russia) are ultimately crushed.

Each day that passes makes a conclusive Russian victory in the Donbass and beyond more certain. As Russia bolsters her forces, and weaponry, those of Ukraine decrease. Russian forces gain ready access to rest and recuperation as troop numbers increase. The increasingly exhausted and demoralized Ukrainian troops have an ever decreasing prospect of such respite. This situation will bring them to complete breakdown as Russia unleashes the firepower of the more modern and advanced weaponry that is arriving along with the newly mobilized Russian troops.
The various Ukrainian offensives are now weak when confronted by the reinforced Russian lines. A few futile efforts achieve miserable results before fire reigns down on the Ukrainian troops and they are forced back to their original positions and beyond.
And now we have arrived at the wet, and later, freezing conditions where the Ukrainian forces will be subject to myriad forms of abject misery, with death and injury all around them while they lie sodden or frozen, abandoned to their fate by Kiev.
We must feel for the majority of Ukrainian troops as they are, in most part now, not of the Nazi-mentality deserving of revulsion, in most part decent men, fathers, sons, brothers, husband and uncles, who no doubt saw through the coup of 2014 for what it was. But sadly, their fate for now appears sealed, condemned to death by the political and media elites of the West.
Nothing will stop Russia now. Every factor favors them. Victory will be Russia’s. In Donbass and by reputation and respect gained, across the entire world.
