THE U.S. DEFENSE BUDGET IS DEFENDING AMERICA FROM… WHAT?

Joe Biden has just announced the amount he’d like to be allocated to the U.S. “defense” budget this year. $753,000,000,000. $715,000,000,000 billion of this sum to the Pentagon.

If this is truly for defense who or what is America defending itself against?

From the official review and from the statements of response to Biden’s announcement it is very clear who.

You know the answer. Russia and China of course.

You also know that this is insane, right?

Or... do all these officials of government and wannabe officials of government believe that their counterparts in Russia and China are insane?

Even if you believe that Russia and China are the USA’s adversaries as these officials call them and not just them, this is what the annual defense review calls them. Does anyone really believe anyone else wants a hot war or is planning for one? I doubt that any sane person is and certainly not on the Russian or Chinese side. The culture of political insanity is pretty one-sided and it is the USA that has the track record indicating it, few others.

Let’s just say for the fun of it that Russia and China are indeed adversaries. What threats do they pose if their main preoccupation is garnering income for their treasuries through trade. Note that starting a nuclear war would not exactly enhance their prospects in this endeavor.

But what else might they be doing that would make them adversaries?

If the thirteen intelligence agencies of the USA say that Russia has been trying to influence U.S. elections then okay, this is certainly not a virtuous pursuit. Though these agencies say it has occurred no evidence has been shown, it’s too sensitive apparently. But let’s say it does happen, how exclusive is this to the Russians? Has America never interfered even slightly in Russian elections? In fact it has. And this is not even disputed. But the “good guys” are allowed. This is the ‘out’ for the USA to do it, and not only in Russian elections but in any elections anywhere worldwide. Because the intelligence agencies of the USA (and UK obviously) are saintly white knights carrying out God’s work for equally saintly politicians who wouldn’t hurt a fly. Apparently.

So why the $753,000,000,000 on “defense”?

Because it’s not defense its offense. This enormous sum is to give the USA enhanced ability to wage war, stick its nose into every nation with ultra-surveillance technologies on land, air, sea and space. It is part and parcel of the post-9/11 goal to have full spectrum dominance in all those ‘theaters of war’ as the saying goes. It will also fill the coffers of those within the so-called “Defense Industry” of the USA. In fact the ‘War Industry’ of the USA, the Military Industrial Complex. All ready and in place for the next batch of top U.S. politicians coming shooting out of the revolving door exit of political life into the directorships and board of director placements in Raytheon et al.

It’s a cozy little circuit of five star living alongside the five star generals and the Chief Executive Officers of the companies who have their own personal golden goose laying ever larger eggs in Washington year on year.

Meanwhile the scarecrow, or rather scarecrows required at all times, the “enemies” without which this scam can’t be justified, are doing... what?

Staring into monitors, tapping keyboards, creating silly Facebook ads and... and... what?

Jeezus! How fucking dangerous! (Sorry, I was channeling Bill Hicks for a moment there!)

But seriously... someone or ones are mad here and I don’t think its me or anyone outside the USA or UK.

What are the U.S. elites defending themselves against exactly?

Could it be they are defending themselves against appearing redundant?

Just as NATO execs do almost every day:

“BIG BAD RUSSIA IS OVER THERE!

OKAY, DOING VERY LITTLE, BUT STILL. WE’LL THINK OF *SOMETHING* AND IT’LL MAKE YOU SCARED!”

(“We’re making fear pay. But don’t tell anyone. We have families, kids at fancy schools, career ladders to climb and big bank accounts that need to keep growing! We’re used to this lifestyle. You can’t take it away from us. How would we survive?”)

“SO LISTEN... THE RUSSIANS ARE DOING SOMETHING BAD... WE JUST *FEEL* IT. THEY *SEEM* HARMLESS AND INACTIVE BUT THEY ARE A DANGER TO YOU I SWEAR! YOU STILL NEED US... YOU DO, DON’T YOU? PLEASE SAY YOU DO!”

As NATO does so too does Washington:

“There are two big bad old wolves over there with jaws dripping with blood! We need to defend us lambs over here folks! We’re the lambs of God doncha know? And they want us between their teeth. LOOK!!! Wolf! Wolf! Wolf! Russia! Russia! Russia! China! China! China!... Okay... Give us... Money! Money! Money! Okay!? Okay!? Okay!?”

This is the defense that’s costing $753,000,000,000.

The defense against peace breaking out.

The defense against the gravy train stopping in its tracks.

The defense against having no elite sinecure when the state job ends.

The defense against being seen as unnecessary.

The defense against being seen as a redundant warhorse.

The defense against being seen as completely insane.
