THE WEST AND ITS ‘GOD-GIVEN’ RIGHT TO ATTACK, TORTURE, SLAUGHTER AND DESTROY

Why should the entire world submit to one privileged, powerful and aggressive region that believes it should rule, exploit, control and punish all others?

As we take a look at our world and try to make sense of it, one illogical factor springs out at us above all others. According to multiple political and news sources in one region of the world only their leaders are allowed to dictate how we should all live. In addition they decide who shall live and who shall die, which modes of governance are acceptable and which are not. These few dictate for the world and woe betide any others who may wish to decide a few things for themselves.

Perusing the battle lines of the last many decades we see one entity above all others asserting its right to decide these things. They are jealous leaders of their apparently jealous god. On their shoulders rests the fate of the world or so they appear to believe. They have ‘the right stuff’, the correct beliefs, the best form of governance and over a wide range of other issues they are superior and exceptional. If this strikes you as being somewhat fascistic, redolent with the views of a master race you would not be far wrong.

For a great many years the world has suffered from the notion that the political elites of the USA were, in combination, a kind of world police dispensing what they regarded as justice. These, by their own analysis, were ‘the good guys’, the ‘white hats’ and global ‘cavalry’ coming over the hill to save poor victims everywhere. That mass slaughter took place along with coups, assassinations and democratically destructive acts were order of the day for them did not faze them in the least.

As global adjudicators these people decided what was right and what was wrong. This, miraculously, always coincided with what was in their own ‘national interests’. A curious fact that, don’t you think? Imagine the temptation when you have so much power and the ability to manipulate your media at will to engage in acts that, if analysed competently, showed that the reasons given were not at all those that lay behind those acts. But how many spent their time analysing this activity? Very few.

Noam Chomsky has been one of the very few who has consistently held the feet of U.S. politicians to the fire regarding their permanent state of aggression toward others and their “justifications” for all their acts of subversion and ultra-violence. For decade after decade he pointed out in academic detail their every tactic and deceit. Of course a significant number of people read him and his reputation is unparalleled. However, no matter how many times the duplicity and mendacious nature of western political elites was pointed out, nothing ever seemed to change.

Now, with much of the world aghast and concerned regarding the mass slaughter being perpetrated upon the people of Gaza, a new and larger consensus has begun to gather. The USA and its allies are not being at all shy regarding their support for the genocidal attacks by the Israelis on those who have been long incarcerated in the concentration camp that is Gaza. Only now is there a sufficient groundswell of revulsion and opposition clearly visible that has the potential to fix the reputation of western elites as global terrorists and pariahs on a permanent basis.

This well-deserved reputation, long blurred in the West by the slavish devotion to their elites of western mainstream media, is now revealing itself behind the facade of respectability this media afforded these elites. They are now revealed in all their naked evil, their duplicitous and malign nature and all the vile outcomes that they have spawned for decade after decade are now clear for all to see. Like the rhyme concerning Humpty-Dumpty, it is unlikely that this veneer of respectability will be put together again, although many fallacious narratives will certainly be concocted in an effort to try.

Will the West get yet another facelift, will the newscasters of the western world manage to patch up the threadbare reputation that exists after Gaza and Ukraine? It is just possible. Westerners appear to be gullible suckers for these makeovers and the people creating them are all highly-experienced professionals in this art. Shiny CNN, MSNBC, BBC and others have the carefully crafted facades of respectability and daily assurance of probity to do it. But can a brand new silk purse be made from this sow’s ear yet again? For all our sakes and the sake of all who will die in some future tomorrow otherwise… hopefully not.
