THE WEST IS IN WAR MODE AND TRUTH IS THE VERY FIRST CASUALTY

If you listen to western television news or read its mainstream press you know what an irredeemable criminal Vladimir Putin is, a man without a trace of merit, a schemer against the West, a murderer of his own people, a person who uses chemical weapons to poison enemies and who is currently attacking and bullying an innocent neighbour nation that has done no harm, is innocent of any crime except to want its freedom.

You will search in vain for any voice, article or news item that gives the impression that there is any other view to be had than those expressed above. 

The constant inference is that Putin is the new Hitler and that all he does has an evil purpose behind it. Where and when have we heard this kind of framing before? Only every time political and media elites of the western world identify a target they wish to destroy, every time they take it upon themselves to wage a war.

The recent list is long and you can fill in the names yourself. The nations in question range from Serbia to Libya to Iraq to Venezuela.

The Second World War is held up as the example of how you cannot negotiate with those who perpetrate evil, nothing whatsoever that they do can or should be said in their favour, they require to be vilified, demonized, and knowingly attacked using lies if this helps bring them down. In Hitler's case and that of Nazi Germany I am sure you would agree this was all appropriate. But is it appropriate in every subsequent case? If they were willing to discuss this I feel sure, if they were to be totally honest, the elites of the West would tend to say yes. Why is this?

A comprehensive belief in western goodness in general and that of its elites by reflection is held across the entire panoply of the elite western stratosphere. No counter thought is permitted to this assumption no matter what is considered necessary to be done in its name, no matter how bloody or destructive. The view is of always being right due to the cause being right, this predicated upon the bedrock certainty of having the right systems in place then assures righteous conduct at all times. They can do no wrong. At worst accidents can happen they cannot be blamed for as they were attempting to do the right thing but it went wrong. They didn't DO wrong. How could they? Their intentions are ALWAYS good, aren't they?

With this, the bedrock faith of their own perpetual and abiding goodness of which there is no question how then do those appear to them who disagree with their methods and systems? They cannot possibly appear in a good light, can they? Far from it. They must appear almost as demons from Hell to question, disagree with and even oppose their perfect systems and their eternal and obvious goodness. It is no wonder then that they portray such people as fiends, as evil incarnate, for to them this is exactly how they seem. They have besmirched the sanctified holiness, saintliness and eternal wonder of their perfection, they have sought to limit their mission to spread their holy word and influence worldwide. How can they not be demonic, how can they be left alone to spread their blasphemy. To these western elites imbued with such total self-belief such things are blindingly obvious.

And, as blind belief has always resulted in conflict, division, death and destruction in wars down the ages, where two belief systems and spheres of influence vie for dominance, or where a great power seeks to subdue, overcome and perhaps destroy a rising power, the populations far below the elites are those who almost exclusively continue to suffer.

The elites of Ukraine, a vassal of the West since 2014 seeks dominion over its entire population even though around half seek something different from the western "perfection" that those in the other half have given allegiance to. The half of Ukraine looking eastward toward Russia, speaking Russian and having a heritage of gratitude and respect for Russia due to WWII and their general cultural attitude do not see the supposed merits of the western way of life and its systems that those in the other half of Ukraine do, or at least that the elites of that other half do. But as the West is dominant those in the east must therefore be the ones demonized if necessary or at least totally ignored when they suffer.

A complete blanket of silence is maintained in the West regarding not only the mass death and suffering that has been experienced by those in south-eastern Ukraine but that blanket covers also their wishes, their viewpoints, allegiances, hopes, dreams and all else and replaces such things with an inference (when these populations are talked of at all) of total negativity, of delusion, dangerous activism and malevolence. For eight years from 2014 to the present day it is almost as if they and their hopes for life simply did not exist while maximum publicity and support was perpetually given in the West to the West in every area. A vacuum chamber of death was created, a killing field kept perpetually silent while western goals were forwarded through absolutely one-sided reporting.

The other side in any war cannot be reported in any other terms than negatively. This is what being in war mode consists of, demonizing the enemy by all means considered necessary, ignoring crimes by one's own side totally, always reinforcing your own rightness and the wrongness of those others. The press and media follow the lead of the political elites in these situations and if they don't, penalties against them of one kind or another will soon follow. Self-censorship and self-protection soon ensures only one side of any conflict is reported. It wasn't always like this, the Vietnam war was arguably the last where fearlessly honest reporting took place. Now, in this time where the West feels its dominance is under threat from rising powers in the east, the reporting is now universally supportive of the war effort to retain and increase western dominance and maintain the status, lifestyles, power and influence western elites as a group have always enjoyed.

It all leads to one thing, that thing for those of us who live in the western world see and hear all around us now, the perpetual drums of war, the jingoism that calls for 100% support from all good citizens against the evil monsters who threaten all goodness, and all decency who wish to harm us and the great and good, obviously perfect societies of the western world, sanctified by God and protected by its immaculate and ever-perfect elites. 

War mode is the mode the western world is now in. And truth lies dead on the ground.
