Ignorance is not simply composed of a lack of knowledge. It is composed, side by side with a lack of knowledge, a complete lack of caring.
He has already caused the death of over 100 at sea and now over 100 on land too. But is Donald Trump troubled at all about that? Not at all, in fact he is overjoyed. He must believe they deserved to die, mustn’t he? And there are millions who share that blood-lust across North America. Others, not our brothers. Those ‘others’, presumably lesser humans, perhaps of another race, creed or culture, sub-humans perhaps to the exceptional humans of the United States and to exalted individuals such as Donald J. Trump.
There is little point asking whether this is a sophisticated or civilized point of view, clearly it is not. Who could doubt that it is a profoundly callous, cynical and cruel point of view, one denoting an individual who has lost touch with any finer feelings toward his fellow man? After all, the men who died on the ships were not tried and found guilty of any crime. No evidence was brought before any court, judge or jury to show they merited punishment. They were summarily executed out of hand. And Trump was untroubled by any of the above.
It seems that many of those killed during Trump’s “perfect” attack on Venezuela were innocent civilians. They too were killed without any remorse being shown by Trump. Collateral damage. Insignificant lives snuffed out without anyone in the White House even knowing their names. Not even worth a mention. Dead... and gone. Families in mourning... dead fathers, mothers, children. But nothing to trouble Donald J. Trump or the beaming smile all over his face rejoicing in his great success.
How many more are to die by his initiating further strikes? How many deaths of innocent children is Trump already responsible for in Gaza? Does he show even the slightest trace of remorse over them? Did anyone hear him speak of them at all? We hear him shed crocodile tears for the dead and dying in Ukraine. But for the thousands he helped Israel slaughter not a word. Is this not ignorance in depth? An unconscionable level of deadly, deep and abiding ignorance? One that it is inevitable will strike again.
Trump has a choice of several targets where more death and destruction can be aided and abetted. Cuba, Iran and Colombia to name but three. Currently Iran is being observed with glee by Trump and his fellow Neocons. The requisite amount of pain and suffering through U.S. sanctions seems to be causing the Iranians to protest on the streets of Tehran and elsewhere. This is music to the ears of Trump and his utterly cold-blooded, callous and blood-thirsty neocon team. They would probably have a hard time pointing to Iran on a map but you can be sure they “care deeply” about its people, care to see them cause sufficient chaos to achieve regime change at least.
Ignorance is not simply lack of knowledge. It is composed, side by side with lack of knowledge, a complete lack of caring. Donald Trump is a man who hasn’t the slightest problem with hurting, harming and even killing others. He is completely devoid of empathy. His only concern is solely related to advancing and enhancing the way he is seen by others, the praise he can receive from others, the wealth he can accumulate, the women he can take advantage of and the power he can wield. A more callous, abusive, exploitative, egotistical and deeply ignorant man you will never find.
