TRUMP THE DESTROYER
It is difficult to grasp the enormity of Trump's error in waging his illegal war against Iran, or the damage it will do, primarily to the western world, but also ultimately and deservedly, to himself.
Trump may think and say he is destroying Iran. This is a lie. Iran will survive his onslaught. He is destroying a lot however, many things he had no intention of destroying… and ultimately he is slowly but surely destroying his presidency and legacy. Of course his presidency has already been massively tainted by the supreme idiocy of his massively dysfunctional character. The only legacy Trump was ever going to leave behind was one of shame, the bitter shame of most Americans of any intellectual capacity and of the rest of the world that Americans could ever think of elect such a supremely maladjusted and desperately stupid person as President of the United States.
With Trump’s illegal war against Iran he has set in motion events which could see the destruction of U.S. influence in the Persian Gulf region and its permanently removal as Iran takes centre stage as the most powerful nation there. Trump has put at risk the entire economic foundation of western states and beyond by his actions. The Iranians, by blocking the Strait of Hormuz in response to his attack, are able to determine who receives 20% of the world’s oil and who does not. States friendly to Iran are able to have their oil tankers move safely through the strait, all others who continue to cling to the USA or Israel cannot.
Trump has enabled Iran to become the most highly respected nation on the planet for its valiant resistance to all that the USA and Israel can throw at it. And of course for striking back hard at U.S. bases and those who support the U.S. presence in the gulf, namely all the other gulf states. But the main reason Iran is being lauded across social media right now is because it is hitting targets in Israel such as Tel Aviv hard. Why it is so popular for doing this is not hard to understand. The Israelis have never been as universally despised as they are now after their mass killings of tens of thousands of men, women and children in Gaza. Trump, in league with these perpetrators of genocide has destroyed both their reputations.
Trump has destroyed any last hope that Russia and China could be painted as the world’s great aggressor states. Not that many were any longer falling for such nonsense, especially not after the litany of illegal regime change wars of choice the USA and its vassal states had perpetrated largely through am equal litany of lies. There can hardly be a single soul alive who now thinks that the USA or its allies are the saintly good guys who are there to protect the rest of us and bring freedom and democracy to the world and all such similar claptrap. It is crystal clear to the world now how very much better the world be without the West acting as medieval crusaders seeking to initiate illegal wars far from their borders. After Trump’s behaviour China and Russia are left as the two most adult powers on the global chessboard. Any hope of the ‘we are the global cops you can trust’ duplicitous PR stunt by the West having the same effect in the past is gone.
Trump has destroyed any credibility he still retained. Academics, pundits of all kinds, commentators, observers and journos are all saying so and saying so loudly. He has made the biggest political and tactical mistake regarding U.S. foreign policy in living memory and he is going to pay an enormous price for it. In the midterms coming up in November the Republicans are going to lose massively leaving Donald Trump a lame duck president. How many headlines on the day of the midterm results will rename him ‘Donald Duck’ I wonder? He will fully deserve the complete humiliation, one after the other that he will now have to live through. None of the bluster and lies, the pathetic bravado or angry tantrums will save him when he gets hit with one humiliating episode after another. In the end, tail between his fat legs, Trump will slope off to die loathed and despised, and ironically and deservedly... psychologically destroyed.
