There are multiple layers to the irresponsibility of western leaders currently in regard to their unquestioning support of Ukraine. One of the most deadly consequences for both Ukraine and the rest of Europe is the evident willingness of these elites to see extremism continue to thrive there.
The so-called volunteer battalions within western Ukraine, many of whose members have now been invited into the Ukrainian army and national guard, are one of the greatest threats to sound governance in Ukraine and a western victory there would undoubtedly see them gaining even more power than they already have, and that power is already immense.
Groups such as the Azov Battalion have had a de facto veto on Ukrainian governmental decision-making ever since the insurrection that deposed both the democratically elected president and government of Ukraine by them in 2014.
No movement toward peace and reconciliation has been found to be possible even though Volodymyr Zelenskyy, campaigned and won the presidency on this issue. Humiliated on his first visit to the battle lines in eastern Ukraine and without any doubt threatened personally, he quickly moved from the peacemaking role he had won on to that of a political wartime commander.
This shows the level of power the ultra-nationalist and Nazi-legacy fanatics have in Ukraine. Their power to achieve their goals and thwart others through the threat of, and actual acts of violence, is very real and provides them with a power far beyond that which their numbers would indicate they could wield.
With the western powers, now flooding Ukraine with weapons of every variety including some of the most deadly ever devised, I think you will agree that certain eventualities to this are potentially catastrophic for Europe as a whole.
On Kiev’s Maidan Square in the winter of 2013-14 the violent extremist forces in Ukraine have been seen to have the greatest effect in bringing about change. After the insurrection at that time they were boosted beyond any dreams of gaining power they had before. Now, if the West manages to bring about a guerrilla war against Russia in Ukraine you don’t have to guess which groupings will be at the forefront of it. Naturally it will be the most extreme and ruthless groupings, those who still form the heavily-armed ‘volunteer battalions’ and those now deeply embedded within the Ukrainian army and national guard.
What chance would Zelenskyy or any replacement president of Ukraine have in the eventuality of Ukraine become a nation permanently at war? Whoever that person was would inevitably become a puppet whose strings were pulled by two separate puppet-masters. The levels of anarchy, intimidation and brutal criminality posing as “justice” and “patriotism” seen if this becomes reality are too awful to contemplate. Already, time after time in still images and video we see what it would look like in the vigilante-infested streets of a Ukraine permanently at war.
The hate-fuelled nature of the extreme right in Ukraine is being ignored by the western powers as an act of convenience at a time when all things Ukrainian must be depicted in terms of glorious sweetness and light. That these convenient shadow-play depictions of good and evil with Russians indelibly evil and the Ukrainians delightfully good can’t last longer than western goals demand. Subsequent to any kind of western “victory” in Ukraine the darkness will swiftly begin to seep into that false image of sweetness and light, despoiling everything western populations thought real and creating in its place a renewed level of fear unseen since that fateful day in September 2001. This at least within Europe. What other distractions will fill the minds of those in North America is another matter.
The Azov Battalion thugs are very much present in the war that is raging in Ukraine. Have them continued to be be lauded in the West, their t-shirts and other paraphernalia now on sale on Amazon with their crude swastika and Nazi black sun symbol, framed as noble patriots fighting for freedom and sovereignty and their resulting rise to even greater power will surely be one of the most foolish geopolitical acts ever seen.
The level of irresponsibility being shown now across the western world in respect of Ukraine and the rise of the right is now hopefully clear to you. The number of dangers we now face as a species are myriad, why must we now add this additional layer of potential horror to them?
UKRAINE AND THE FURTHER RISE OF AN ALREADY ASCENDANT EXTREME RIGHT
The current Ukrainian President, Volodomyr Zelensky, a former comedian, was brought to power by the Ukrainian Jewish billionaire Igor Kolomoiski (holder of Ukrainian, Israeli and Cypriot nationalities), who financed neo-Nazi armed battalions and groups in Ukraine ( the Azov, Aidar, Donbass, Dnipro 1, Dnepr 2 battalions) in the service of NATO. Kolomoiski held the post of governor of the Dnipropetrovsk oblast from March 2014 to March 2015. A notorious anti-Russian, Kolomoïski proposed to offer 730,000 euros to whoever would assassinate Oleg Tsarev, a former pro-Russian deputy and new speaker of Parliament of the Union of Self-proclaimed Independent People's Republics of Ukraine.
Kolomoisky is being prosecuted by the Russian Investigative Committee for “organizing murders, using illegal means and methods of warfare”. An international arrest warrant was requested by Russia, but this was refused by Interpol.
Igor Kolomoiski, who now lives in Israel, is an important pillar of political Judaism. He is a supporter of the Jewish community of Ukraine and the president of the United Jewish Community of Ukraine. In 2010, he was appointed President of the European Council of Jewish Communities, a council adhering to the European Jewish Congress.
With another Ukrainian Jewish billionaire, Vadim Rabinovitch, Kolomoiki founded the European Jewish Union, which would become the European Jewish Parliament, which he would chair from its founding in November 2011 and for five years.
American Jewish organizations, always seeking out and denouncing anti-Semites, protected the Nazi battalions of Ukraine. The United States officially supported Ukrainian neo-Nazi battalions. In 2014, and again in June 2016, US Senator John Conyers (along with two other senators) proposed a bipartisan amendment to the military budget to prohibit any assistance or weaponry to the Azov regiment. The amendment was withdrawn pending consideration in the House of Representatives. Senator Conyers reinstates it at the end of the text for his passage in the Senate:
“None of the funds made available by this law may be used to provide weapons, training or other assistance to the Azov Battalion. »
This amendment was ultimately rejected from the final text of the military budget at the request of the Pentagon and American Jewish organizations, namely the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Simon-Wiesenthal Center. These two powerful organizations justified their support for neo-Nazi organizations like Svoboda on the grounds that “the focus should be on Russia” (says an ADL lobbyist). The other reason, put forward by the Simon-Wiesenthal Center, is the following: representatives of the Ukrainian far right participated in meetings with the Israeli embassy, which would constitute proof that they had put aside their extremism.
Furthermore, since the Maidan revolution in February 2014, many ministerial posts have been filled by Ukrainian Jews. Moreover, a few weeks after the start of the civil war, Israel was preparing to deliver arms to the kyiv regime. Putin then warned the Jewish state.
On May 4, 2022, Russian diplomacy declared that “Israeli mercenaries” were fighting in Ukraine alongside the neo-Nazi Azov regiment. This is confirmed by video documents where we see these Hebrew-speaking mercenaries alongside neo-Nazi Ukrainian fighters.
“I'm going to say something Israeli politicians probably don't want to hear, but maybe they'll be interested. In Ukraine, Israeli mercenaries are on the side of Azov militants,” Russian foreign affairs spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in an interview with Sputnik radio.
Moscow has openly accused Israel of "supporting the neo-Nazi regime in kyiv".
