UKRAINE SHORT COMMENTARY: TAKING AN EXPRESS TRAIN RIDE TO NUCLEAR ARMAGEDDON

How long can it be before the USA threatens the use of nuclear weapons?

It appears ever more likely that as the USA becomes ever more desperate watching Russia attain its goals in Ukraine and surviving the economic fallout of the double-edged sword of sanctions that a nuclear strike will be contemplated.

I would envisage a warning of this possibility being the first step, not a strike coming out of the blue, although this possibility cannot be totally discounted.

Each power in this battle of wills (and in future months endurance) has the potential to be backed into a corner doubling down as it goes.

One tactical nuclear attack, most probably not on a civilian or military target but intended as a warning of course may eventuate into an immediate response. This would have the potential to begin tit-for-tat exchange leading to an even more dangerous plateau if neither power backs down.

When you are in a corner you either must fight your way out or capitulate and I see neither power willing to capitulate as so very much is at stake for both of them.

This is the nightmare scenario that extremely misguided and incompetent leadership in the West has brought the world to with 9/11 leading to the death of diplomacy and the rise of war hawks to permanent positions at the apex of North American power.

We are all in for an incredibly destabilizing time with upheavals arriving across our societies initiating levels of confusion, panic and misery not seen in a generation.

Buckle up, it’s going to be an extremely bumpy ride into what is shaping up to be a potential nuclear Armageddon.
