UKRAINE: TWO WARS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE

It is certain that almost every war was fought from beginning to end with two distinct battlefronts, one on the ground in actual theatres of war, and another in the respective home countries of those fighting.

But never has there been a war fought previously where such an amount of information and misinformation flew about with such a constant totally maximised level of contradiction between them.

If you watch or listen to western mainstream news entities, plucky Ukraine is beginning to beat the dastardly Russian bully. Every outlet from the BBC to CNN and all points west is talking up the morale of everyone potentially able to help, in one way or another, to defeat the Russians.

Thankfully however, there are still one of two sources of wider coverage that extends beyond this apparently totally fixed and wholly partial “news” delivery of the western mainstream. One such is the increasingly popular Alexander Mercouris via his YouTube channel. Alexander’s follower count continues to rise by leaps and bounds brought to him arguably by disaffection with the mainstream suppliers of news content.

At the time of writing Mercouris channel has some 73.7 thousand subscribers, up by 500 on yesterday at this time. Alexander is also complemented by two additional commentators, Alex Christoforou and Gonzalo Lira, the latter having been based in Kiev and now in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkov. This team present a wholly different and generally more trustworthy view and analysis of the present conflict in Ukraine as evidenced by the loyalty shown by their subscribers and the constant flow of ever more to their various channels.

Reading the comments below any video published by these three would provide uncomfortable reading for any member of the mainstream press and mass media. It is clear in reading them that an already large section of the western population interested in geopolitical events have migrated far from any willingness to be conditioned by what they see as the incessant one-sided broadcasting of distinctly western state-agreed narratives, talking points and narratives.
