WESTERN LIBERAL AUTHORITARIANISM: THE GREATEST THREAT TO FREEDOM IS AT HOME
The West is no longer the home of freedom of thought and speech
You are not supposed to analyse anything for yourself now, nor question received “wisdom” handed down from above. You are to give assent to what you are told from the elites who “know best”.
You are expected to display only aggression, contempt & vilification toward those who continue to insist on thinking for themselves and question those issues which you have been conditioned to give your complete assent to.
Only certain thoughts, judgements, attitudes and values are deemed correct now, as specified by western liberal elites. All others are inadmissible and subject to sanction.
All you are expected to think about are ways to weaken, neutralize and/or destroy the arguments of those who retain an inquiring mind, believe in thinking for themselves or deign to question the issues you have been conditioned to agree upon implicitly.
These are the liberal admonishments that can accept no doubters or investigative questioners. This is especially the case regarding the West’s regime change targets. These are issues upon which complete obedience to the liberal elite is demanded. If you do not comply and are a person whose opinion has a following you will be immediately regarded as an enemy of the state and will be subject to slanderous accusations.
It is akin to the state of mind of the most fervent exemplars of muscular women's liberation in its earliest days. At that time there were activists at the most extreme end of the issue calling men ‘the enemy’, almost an enemy to be physically attacked and not only in words. These were rightly regarded as extremists at the time. However, today we can see a similar extreme with the liberal western mainstream being able to slander anti-war activists with impunity.
The cases of Aaron Maté, Joe Rogan and JK Rowling in recent times have been public expressions of the condemnation of alternate or questioning thought-processes. The condemnation emanates from the liberal class and those who have given up their right to think and question due to being bought by corporate media, the CIA or other state intelligence agencies and are at the forefront of today’s culture war.
The Democratic Party of the USA and the Corbyn-eliminated Labour Party of the UK exemplify the way the liberal class have destroyed the ability of members to question their elites. They have rendered those who believe in thoughtful analysis and debate on issues impotent through undermining them. Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn were both neutralized by people who believe the control of the administrative functions of their parties is their most important task, not winning elections. They have ensured that they will be in control whether they win or lose. That’s what is most important to them. All else is of much lesser importance to them including the well being of their respective populations.
These liberals (in the case of the U.S. ) and establishment-friendly political elites (in that of the UK) find progressive viewpoints that question the status quo and the left in general highly dangerous and have been working over the decades to neutralize their effect, weaken them whenever possible and if possible eliminate them, their views and the communication of their views entirely. This is a totalitarian project and you can see it in the type of “news” and “debate” that occurs within the mainstream in both nations and indeed in general across those nations broadly allied with them.
This is why Russia Today (RT) and the plethora of crowdfunded channels across YouTube are regarded as a primary enemy of the liberal and established political elites. Their targets continue to proffer that issues these elites have labelled no-go areas can be thought about, discussed and debated. Such issues as whether western elites have the right to violently intervene in nations that have not taken any warlike stance against them, whether regime change wars by the West are truly idealistic efforts to make the world safe for freedom and democracy or whether they arise purely from self-interest and a desire for more control, manipulative ability and greater influence. In the case of Aaron Maté, they have also shown their interest in closing down investigations that reveal western institutions such as the OPCW are corrupt.
There are a multitude of issues for debate apart from the continuing regime change policy of the West. Issues like the increasing wealth gap in the western world, the immense power of lobbyists, the vast power of western elites and that of the military industrial complex. Increasingly western liberal elites would like to see all and any serious debate on these subjects silenced or subject to sanction of one kind or another. The recent leading social media entity censorship campaigns show the path the West is now on.
The place where liberal totalitarianism can be seen in its most naked form is in the USA. For liberals there, many within the Democratic Party, there is a constant push toward unquestioning totalitarian agreement on a raft of issues.
Donald Trump was the area where agreement was strongest. No matter that no connection of any substance was made between Trump and Russia the concept that there was collusion and that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election is sacrosanct and not to be questioned. Though the meme has suffered hit after hit the uniform belief in it remains unshaken.
It is beyond ironic that the Democratic Party, once the standard-bearer of the anti-war sentiment has now become the primary supporter of regime change and the continuance at all costs of troop deployments in Europe and the Middle East and an ever-increasing build-up of tension with Russia.
Liberals are now the standard-bearers of social engineering, of conditioning to assert state narratives and the primary upholders of an exceptional America that can proactively strike at any target of its choice. They display a newfound acceptance of unaccountable and unnamed representatives of the FBI, CIA and all the intelligence agencies with a stake in creating maximum levels of fear for their own interests. Liberal, corporate mainstream media in the USA stands side by side with those of the national security state regarding their goals and tenets of belief, goals and beliefs which maximize their power, influence and profit.
The Republican Party by default has become ever closer in its policies and belief systems to libertarians whose leanings are strongly against the kind of totalitarianism of thought that liberals now represent. Not that they lack insane warmongers and exceptionalists too. Clearly, both main parties in the USA are incredibly and observably dysfunctional and corrupted by militaristic corporate influence.
Increasingly no questioning is to be allowed of western state narratives without attempts to undermine, criminalize or otherwise negate the messenger/journalist. Western supremacy in the face of its greatest ever challenge, from China will be asserted in stronger form than ever before. There will be no criticism of NATO or any other aspect of western power or influence. Unity of purpose is being sought to create a united front against the West’s “enemies” that threaten its authoritarian power. All activities in the war to maintain dictatorial influence will have inherent impunity and as in the days immediately following 9/11 all questioning will be met with the same totalitarian response as that of George W. Bush:
“You are either with us or against us.”
No questioning. No doubts. Only obedience to this form of authoritarian narrative will be permissible.
Don’t think. Don’t question authority. Accept what we say. And simply obey.
These will be the continual liberal commands, whether implicit or explicit, en route to an all-pervasive liberal authoritarianism.
