The Wagner group have taken over due to the Frenc being asked/told to leave. The Wagner group are also in Mozambique where ISIS has just about taken over the north where the Oil and Gasfields are

The SA army went in and have been chased away by ISIS like dogs running away.

The Chinese come in with no military and just smiles and then slowly take over the country

They wine and dine a few government officials and then the rest just about become slaves to them.

ISIS has training camps in the Eastern Cape Province of SA and the government knows about this and does nothing would rather protect them.

When all the African states became independant in the 60ties all were self sufficient in feeding themselves and countries like Kenya and Zimbabwe exported food

Now most import food. If push comes to shove SA can still feed itself ,for how long I do not know

SA exported about 8 million Tons of corn last year.

Here in Thailand the same

Thailand exports food but many years ago imported and I think one of the best examples is India. My fatehr was always scathingabout the country not being able to look after itself. He died in 1979 ,and look at India today from a jetplane to food I need not even speak or write about China where millions of people died of hunger due to Mao great purges and today ???

I trained africans for many years and that is a story for another day

It is just a question of time before SA collapses.

I do not have an answer for the collapse ofAfrica which will satisfy the world and i will be seen as a racist. One question to you as an European

Who developed Europe?. Then we can get to the USA Canada

and then South America Haiti Trinidad etc

I have mentioned Liberia to you

China has almost unlimited finances to spread around and with that money can create the win-win feeling where they are first in line for access to vitally needed minerals and other resources. Russia, though not by any means poor requires its cash to improve the lives of those Russians in outlying areas (which has been the goal of Putin in recent years, to bring the standard of life of these Russians up to that of those in the cities. I feel fairly sure you will agree that Africa SHOULD be a very prosperous continent and COULD be if certain factors were remedied. It's those abiding factors that are the bugbear. As to who developed Europe... I suppose it depends on which time frame we are looking at. France and Germany mainly I'd say.

Good Morning

What I meant who developed Europe

The human has been around for millenia, some say three hundred Thousand years some say two hundred thousand years

History gives us with a very little certainty in the beginning ten thousand years and closer history about three thousand years.

The Persians were the first to start developing the nthe Greeks then the Romans up to today

But what I meant

They europan with its closer areas ,Middle East etc, in general developed to what it is today.

Where was the industrail revelotiun in Europe with a little help ftom the Chinese gunpowder ,pasta etc (not Italy). Then the Europeans started sailing the seas to the East America an took the development there where many of the countries copied some of teh inventions etcit

Thailand Malaysia , Indonesia are examples

Then, it is said, the US opened up Japan in the 1850 and a bit earlier timelines are not really important

Then after the turn of the century Japan and China copied more and more of the Western Technology ,the same as India and many otehr countries like Siuth America Brazil etc

All are indistriallized in certain ways some more than others.

All have exports of products from Jet Planes to satellites

SA under Apartheid manufactured jet fighters jets from mach two to traienrs ,attack helicopters.

SA had nuclear bombs six and were manufacturing the next batch when the Russian and US Government s requested them to dismantle them for fear of the African getting hold of them and then the Muslim terrorists

SA had the planes to deliver them.

SA developed the 155 mm Howitzer and ammunition which could be fired up to 55 km

Close to where I lived in Kleinmond.

Africa had teh arabs who went into africa from the North and also from teh East with their dhows.

Millions of africans became slaves like two million Europeans. Most of the african slaves went to the Caribean and South America

All these countries still have africans and most of the poor are african.

I am convinced itis in their genes as teh african that has developed a bit like Somalia, Ethiopia etc the african has eitehr white or Arab genes

My reason why the african is undeveloped is that the Europena in Europe had a very harsh climate and had to save for teh winter ewhee the african had everything close at hand anddid not have to save for teh winter season.

Just remeber the african did not come down to South Africa and Zimbabwe untill "recently" like three hundred years ago

There have never been any africans in the Western Cape, only Bushmen and Hottentots which wereanotehr race

The closest they wee was at the Fish river several hundred km from the Cape and that was in the 1820 and thirties

I have read what you say about teh Wagner group and I know they are everywhere in Africa

The Russians are going to lose out on the "deals" with the Africans mark my words.

Look at Ireland , Scotland and Wales, if you want to call them separate from the UK or England are highly developed "countries"

Nobody assisted them to develop, the same with Norway Germany France etc

All on their own by copying desighning etc

The Japanese after WW2 were experts in developing and especially copying from the Western World and look where they are today

Just compare the city of Tokyo to Kinshasa. Compare Dublin, London etc to any city in africa

My favourite country in the World ,Vietnam, blown to bits in the war look at it today

Compare Japan after the 2011 Tsunami and Haiti after the 2009 Earthquake. Haiti has not repaired anyhing and I saw a documentary recently, they are waiting for aid!!!!

Japan was cleaned up in three monhs .

Because I have such a negative outlook or should I say realistic outlook on the world I am sure all the aid being promised by Lavrof is going to go down a deep hole.

Try and teach an african disciplie and fight in an armed force . it cannot be done.Ask SA after 40 years of trianing soldiers.Ask the French after how many years in Mali ,Eritrea etc

Once you leave them on their own back to their own ways

The Chinese see to it that they force the frican to work for them and oversee them

Much like the factories here in Thailand run by overseas companies.

Management is Korean

Chinese Japanes Australian and te howrkers are Thia

I gave English lectures at Western Digital here in 304 Industrail

Management is US and Japanese etc but the 9000 workes on teh shift all Thais as foreignes may not be emplpoyed.

The same at the huge car factories here.

The Russians are going to get nowwhere with the African. Promises and money does not develop a country

Lavrof is my kind of man and not teh asshole Blinken

Now I am going to read my newspapers

Have a grat day

I agree that the West will lose out but one matter I toatally disagree with you is Lavrof tour in Africa

Russia will never havea real foothold in africa

Africa is to primitive and backward for that to happen the Russians do not understand this or if they do they are playing mum

Wherever they have been they have never had a foothold Angola. Zimbabwe, Nigerai

Mali Sudan etc

Who in my opnion is going to get a very good foothold is China The Chinese loan money to countries and when they cannot repay they take over the facility and bring in their own people

I have seen this in Zambia, Djibouti , parts of Somalia etc

I have seen and heard from friends of mine in Zambia how they control the mines they are involved in

By the way I have no problem with that neither do any of my friends

They take no nonsense from the African and he works like a slave, something that is contrary to his lifestyle of begging and doing nothing.

The Chinese are the only people who are going to get Africans off their backsides and being productive

It should have happened 60 years ago.

You can call me a racist but I am not one. The skin color is just coincidental.

I worked for 52 years in SA as first cop and then an investigator for a laarge Mining house Angl American and Debeers and went to Zambia etc to work there for my company and I experienced the african way of doing things and I could never tolerate it or accept that

I just hope the Chinese take over sooner than later but the Russians are a lost case in Africa

You may disagree with me .You saw Cape Town which is a first world city tehesame as JHB and Pretoria was.

I actually like Lavrof and the way he speaks and what he says but he does not know the african

I could continue but I think you get the gist of my comment.

I understand you fully Barry. I have been around the Cape, taken there on a long trip by car by two Cape Town residents who I strongly suspect feel as you do. I have also been to Johannesburg and a few other locations both within and outside of urban conurbations. I have seen quite a bit of the country. But I am far, far from as knowledgeable as yourself. I take your point and though, as you know yourself, most people would have a knee-jerk reaction and call you a racist I do not. I differentiate clearly that you are talking about personality characteristics rather than colour of skin, that being irrelevant to you. So, to Russia's chances of doing something there... I wonder if you saw the video of the last few days where Russia's 'Wagner Group' were seen in significant numbers coming from a plane in Mali? Or the protest demonstrations there where many Russian flags were seen and portraits of Vladimir Putin? Now, it may well be that these are purely surface manifestations. Please not that I said nothing of Russia's chances in Africa, only that there was some movement there in regard to Russia. Also, in this frame, the visit by an African leader to Moscow recently. Whether it will all come to much of note I don't know. But with Biden going there soon it is certainly a geopolitical strategy hotpoint for no doubt a number of reasons, including natural resources of course. As you say, China has long been the most active there... but with increasing China-Russia cooperation I imagine they will have a few (or many) joint projects in Africa in the future.
