The almost total blackout by mainstream media about U.S. provocations for the war in Ukraine is one of the most significant and disturbing facts of the last several years. After the disastrous wars in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya and elsewhere -- and the documented lies told by the U.S. about them -- you'd think the media would wise up . But not even six months after the disastrous end to the disastrous war in Afghanistan, the U.S. was again in a (proxy) war, with a nuclear armed adversary. Right wing media (e.g., Tucker Carlson, Judge Napolitano, and The American Conservative) have been more forthright about the history of US provocations in Ukraine. The New York Times has almost entirely repeated the official government position: the the Russian invasion was "unprovoked." But even the Times published a few stories and opinion pieces that expose some of the facts.
